I had read somewhere that you can have your kids write a letter to their favorite princess or character and mail it in and they will receive an autographed photo in return.

Anyone had experience with this? If so, how long did it take for your child to receive their photo? I have 4 little girls checking the mail every day with no luck after 5 weeks.

I heard they stopped sending out the photos years ago. But I did read last year about them sending a signed postcard either Mickey and Minnie or a group of Princesses. I also heard it can take up to 9 months to get it:( Personally, I would just have a relative do it:)

Yikes, I guess I should have done my research a little bit better on this one! Thanks for your response. Good suggestion on having a relative do it; the kids wouldn't know the difference.

My mother actually did this for my daughter before she was born but that was 10 years ago. I had also heard that they no longer do it. We framed it and it hangs on her wall. Wish they still did that kind of thing. Would have been great to get one for my niece when she was born.

We tried this about a year ago and got a postcard autographed by several cartoon princesses, but the rumour is they no longer even do this.

Since your girls are already waiting, how about a DIY approach? The Disney website has some great jpg images of the princesses on the Character Meet and Greet entries. Choose the princess your girls like the most and practise her autograph. Print the pic, sign it, then include a little note. You can make it much more personal.

This is an example of the kinds of images they have. Right click on it, save it, print it, sign it, then have Tink deliver the final product to your postbox. I hear pixie dust (AKA glitter) is a sure way to know something arrived pixie post. ;-)

I've had my students practice letter writing to the characters the past couple years. They have received preprinted Fab 5 and princess postcards. It did take at least a month or two to receive a reply.

What a great idea!!! Thank you!

Here is a scanned copy of the postcard my girls got, back in the day. They are all the same, so if you print this one or actually eventually get one from Disney, it won't make much difference to your girls who have been waiting so patiently, right? :rolleyes1

This is AWESOME!!

Update: Postcards were received yesterday from Disney! So, they are still doing this for anyone interested. I still like the idea of sending your own, as you can personalize them but these are cute too. My daughter said "are these actually the princesses' autographs?" Perfect timing, coming at 13 days prior to our trip! I've attached a photo of the front and back of the postcard.

My daughter's class did this too! I finally remembered to mail her letter in July and she got a postcard from Cinderella (the same one as the above poster got) last week! It was a HUGE deal that the REAL Cinderella wrote back - SO cool!

I have to remember to do this! We are going to Disney World for my daughters first birthday in Sept. This was be a great keepsake to go with it.

We mailed our letter to:
Cinderella
c/o Walt Disney Communications
P.O. Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

Our letter was also the letter that my daughter wrote to Cinderella in school. I just added her name and address to it. No request for a letter back, just her letter. Her teacher said that was the address to send all our letters to - just change Cinderella to whichever character your child is writing to.
