Let's track the EB PC cruise here

Thanks,

Personally I would not wish to do a transatlantic crossing, six days at sea was too much for me in 2007, plus the Atlantic is more active, and One way airline tickets to/from the USA are nearly as expensive as a return trip.

If the Magic is close to us I will prefer to do something local, and avoid a long flight and that cost, but it depends on when she is around, its very close to school holidays, but might be just 'before' and I would not take my kids out of school.

The transatlantic didn't sell to well in 2007, so I think there will be 'modifications' maybe include Bermuda, I have herd that, and possible, New York? before Southampton?? might still go via Tenariffe.

I had rougher seas on the PC cruise than on the transatlantic last year. Most days crossing the Atlantic the seas were smooth as glass, almost like we were on a lake. From what I've heard/read, the Pacific has more currents and therefore is more active, not the Atlantic. Although the Atlantic does get more hurricanes.

I would like to see the ports changed a bit, just to give me a different cruise, should I choose to do a transatlantic again.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Hope it heals soon.

The only reason security was there was because of the over reaction of a few people to the harmless fun being had by many. I mean really, throwing balls around a pool is hardly worthy of as much fuss as was made.

If it had stayed with just throwing lightweight balls, that would have been harmless. But the belly flops off the hot tubs and rails, the target practice with footballs (knocking things off tables), throwing cast members into the pool, stealing cast members clothing, flashing of body parts, the list goes on and on.

I have thought a long time if I would post this or not but as we are on the subject of rude adults, there is something which happened to me on the Magic and I am still suffering from it.

In the first week of the cruise, my family were in the queue for the WDT, at 7.50pm, for the 8.30pm show I cannot remember the actual show, but I think it was formal night so that is second night, first sea day, Golden Mickeys but might be wrong on the night.

Anyway we were about 10th in the queue, there was a couple of adults behind us and near opening time their grown up son joined them, the doors opened, my kids did go ahead, but I was pushed hard into the door of the WDT entrance by the son,and banged into the wood frame with my shoulder taking the full force, and fell over, the people behind didn't stop just overtook.

My kids went ahead to get the seats and were rather surprised I wasn't there, I picked myself up, and slightly in a daze, walked to join my family, they said where were you and I said I had just been pushed into the door, very firmly.

I dint wish to make a scene and it didn't seem to bad at the time.

However over the next few days I started to get the biggest pain I have ever had in my shoulder, A deep muscle pain maybe frozen shoulder. I still have it now and its been getting worse. I tried to swim it out at the Cove pool, and various exercises, but its now two weeks later at least and its still bad.

I am so sorry this happened to you. How horrible!!!!!
:sad2:

No flames here. I have pictures of the "Belly Floppers" and I felt so sorry for Claire, the new CM,when they decided to pick her up and jump into the pool with her. I "heard" that she got into a bit of trouble for this.
Oh my..... that's not fair for her to get in trouble for something the people did "to" her! not fair. :( What were they thinking- just grab a person and jump in the pool with them? My goodness....

that is just awful! do you think he did it on purpose? I would think maybe an accident except that he obviously did it with such force that it ended up injuring you and I find that hard to believe that could be accidental! So what is wrong with people? ugh
I hope your shoulder heals soon! :(

If anyone, kid or adult walked into the elevator before I had a chance to walk out, they most likely got bumped into by me. I don't care if they had a full tray of food or were a small child (well okay 3 or 4 and haven't quite learned yet, no bump, but the older kids were fair game). For some reason this is one of the things that really peeves me. I do it on any elevator, not just Disney. Guess some may have witnessed this and considered me one of the rude adults? Oh well!
LOL
I did this TWICE on the cruise and both times I was so incredibly embarrassed and majorly apologetic. One time I was just in my own little world (and probably in a hurry too) and the doors opened and me in my own little world started to walk in without giving people a chance to walk out! The 2nd time I was still embarrassed and apologetic- but that time I actually DID pause to the side to let them step out and they were apparently in THEIR own little world and didn't step out- until I started to step in the elevator and then they were all like oh we need to get out here. LOL

I do not think it's rude to walk out of the elevator- that's what you're supposed to do! But please do forgive us nincompoops who sometimes get in our own little world and ACCIDENTALLY (not on purpose) start to step in the elevator when the doors open. LOL If that had happened with me/you I wouldn't be upset with you bumping me- I'd be mortified that you actually had to do that because I walked on the elevator without giving you a chance to get out first! LOL

The parents weren't necessarily running up and down the hallways but there were quite a few parents who were treating the adult pool as if it was a frat party. I was like, what? are they filming "Animal House on the Disney Magic" down there? I know I'll probably get flamed, but it's a sad state of affairs when security, lifeguards, and other CM have to be stationed around the adult pool because adults can't behave themselves.

Oh my. I guess I missed all this because I aws very rarely near the adult pool, especially during the day. I think I only laid eyes it a couple of times the entire cruise. Looks like I should be glad I didn't partake of the adult pool! That is really sad what you're saying- because I didn't see them have to station a bunch of security, lifeguards and other CM (maybe one) near the KIDS pools- so to have to do it by the adult pools is just pathetic. :(

See Bip. We are all *fuddy duddys* when it comes to women not flashing body parts in public. :goodvibes

Christopher, I am talking kids about 3 yrs old! :scared1: And they didn't even know they should punch the button for their floor! The first one I had to take by the hand to his mother who was waiting on a different floor.......
1.) good to know I'm not the only fuddy duddy. LOL

2.) what are people thinking? I wouldn't even let my youngest (8 ofcourse) do something like that alone.. NO WAY a 3yr old of mine would get seperated from me unless in the club! wow...

But the belly flops off the hot tubs and rails, the target practice with footballs (knocking things off tables), throwing cast members into the pool, stealing cast members clothing, flashing of body parts, the list goes on and on.

Oh my....
do you think the ADULTS also grew bored on the longer cruise and/or started drinking earlier or something? I wonder why the behavior, by adults!, was so much worse on this cruise? This doesn't go on all the time on other cruises, does it? Atleast I've never heard of it before now...

the reason I ask about drinking earlier is not just to explain their behavior but also because I do remember the one time I was near the adult pool it was about 10am and they were pushing drinks on me at the table there... and I thought even though I'm not much of a drinker, 10am is kinda early to start drinking IMO. But maybe that's just me.... LOL And that's what I told the CM- sorry, too early for that! LOL

(ps. since Jeff was out on the decks more often than I was, including deck 10 "reading aka sleeping" a lot- I asked him if he witnessed any of this behavior. He said he wasn't by the adult pools much at all but that he did witness the jumping in from the hot tubs and the throwing balls everywhere. He didn't mention it to me before now though! He said he didn't see the rest of the stuff mentioned but he wasn't really looking at the adult pool much at all. He thinks the only time he was by or looking in the adult area was a couple times when we were hunting down Ruby.... LOL)

I have to agree with that. I stayed to the side with a couple friends and just shook my head. Funny that I had more peace and quiet at the Goofy pool this cruise.

I think you were on the August Westbound that had good seas, the Eastbound to Europe wasnt so lucky and had a very active Atlantic, often old Hurricianes come accross from USA in our direction, they have lost some force but are still active.

I personally from the way this person behaved then and when I saw them a couple of other times felt, 'in part' it was deliberate, maybe planned as a 'nudge' or gentle push, but the intension was to get me out of the way, I would hope no one planned to put as much force into it, as the actual outcome.

DH says ditto to that. He was by the goofy pool quite often this cruise (one or two of the younger two swimming there) and he said it was nice and quiet and peaceful there!

As this has turned into a trip report of sorts discussing a past cruise I am moving the thread to the reports forum but please continue to enjoy! :)

it drove me crazy when people would use the elevator for just one floor.

I used the elevator for only one floor all the time, especially if I was going up:thumbsup2 . I was the chic with the green coleman hiking pole:cool2: . My stateroom was just down the hall from yours.

Anyway, thank the Lord I did use the pole and the elevator. Now, if I'd only made my son weigh the suitcases on the last night, rather than myself. Currently I'm basically confined to bed until tomorrow morning when I have an epidural scheduled:scared: . I herniated another disc doing all that lifting:headache: !

Yes sorry we didn't meet up, I saw a lot of Dissers over the 15 nights, but I understand I was the 'difficult' one to find.

I was told there was an English man going around Disneyland saying, 'No I am not Andrew from the UK', as he was approached many times.

Whilst it was a 15 night cruise, I am not sure where all the time went.

Too funny! :rotfl: I actually did see you one night on the stage at RNBD. I didn't see you again though. Hope your shoulder gets better soon!

Bell flops off the hot tub - hurt no one but the person doing the belly flop

Bell flop off the rails - dangerous to the person doing the belly flop, no one tried again after being told no more (although they faked it a few times)

target practice with the football - one person (guy in the hot tub) got out of hand with the football

throwing cast members in the pool - hardly the first time this has ever happened. Talking to David, Luke, Dan, etc. they had more fun doing their jobs (including getting thrown in the pool) when the guests were having fun

stealing cast members clothing - Please, DJ Dan's shirt became one of the funniest running jokes of the cruise

flashing of body parts - I missed this, saw some bathing suits that were quite revealing but that was it

Other than the one person who was throwing the football too hard, I didn't see anything that was worthy of security being posted at the adult pool the last few days. This cruise was more fun than most I've been on when it came to being at the pool.

Is this the bad behaviour?
I asked a few posts back what everybody was reffering to but nobody answered.

So was I out there right next to you and didn't know it? Is that June in the picutre or just some random picture of the crazy women out on Deck 10? That's me in on the left. I tried to brave it out but once the 2 storms from each side hit and the wind started blowing furiously, I had to give up. Went down to Deck 9 to dry out a bit.

Yes, that was June. I snuck under the tarp to save our camera and take a picture. I ran them back down to the room after taking this picture and rejoined June upfront. June ended up moving from Port to Starboard and said it was actually a little warmer. I grabbed some towels for her and another lady who standing up front which provided some temporary comfort.

Yes, the Quiet Cove was not to quiet this trip. I've also posted that we we found the Goofy pool more quiet than the adult pool. For us, we avoided the adult pool until after Cartagena because the group just made us feel very uncomfortable. We were okay with it as we could always retreat to Deck 10 for some quiet time.

ITA, never thought I would hear myself say it, but I told DH many times the Goofy pool was the place to be for peace and quiet!

Quiet Cove definitely didn't live up to it's name this trip.

Hey Christopher -

Guess we are on the same wave length this morning :thumbsup2

Just wanted to thank you for your thank you gift. It was totally unnecessary but completely appreciated! Please thank June as well.

Hope you had as great a trip as we did. Our DSs have proclaimed it the best vacation ever even better than the '05 repo.
