Let's talk Toilet Tissue

I like the quilted Northern, but DH doesn't so I buy the Charmin that he likes. Mom buys Scotts and I swear it's like wiping your tush with gift wrapping tissue!

We are a Cottonelle house. I buy a 12 roll pack every 2 weeks when I make my grocery trip. I used to just buy the store brand. Didn't bother me to much but DH asked on one grocery trip about a year ago for me to stop buying the cheap crap and get something stronger. I used to be a Charmin girl years ago but when they reformulated their brands, I didn't like either. Never have been a fan of Angel Soft or Northern.

we are purple cottonelle all the way. We love it. Nothing else.

After just using the last roll of Scott....I was soooo excited to be using our regular toilet paper of Cottonelle again.....we are trying to save money so with coupons and easy savers at CVS....we bought the Scott brand....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I used it, I felt like I was in a public bathroom!!!! UGH............so glad we have our brand back....will pay the extra to feel more like home! Thought I was living a nightmare everytime I used the bathroom....Scott last a very looooooooooooong time,

When it comes to toliet paper...I don't mess around. It's always Charmin Ultra Soft :rotfl2:

Me too! I have used Northern, Cottonelle, and Charmin and I think Charmin Soft is by far the best. That's all I will buy now. :thumbsup2

We also use Angel Soft. Once in awhile I do buy the Walmart brand if it is not on sale though and have found it to be comparable. Angel Soft on sale is cheaper though so I try to stock up when I can. In the past I have also used Soft and Gentle and found it to be about the same as Angel Soft.

My mom buys the Sams Club brand but when I have priced it I have found that it is more expensive than Angel Soft when it is on sale so I have stuck with the Angel Soft.

My in laws use Scott and it is just way too rough and thin for my liking. I find I have to use a lot more of it than I do other brands. It is also more expensive than the Angel Soft go figure.

Growing up that is all my mom bought as well was Scott but back than it was the cheapest you could buy not so any more that is for sure.

We use either angel soft or charmin soft. I remember one time we were running low on toilet paper so my dad ran out after dinner to cvs and bought a small package of Scott to hold us over until we went shopping. My mom used it once and drove back to CVS at 12:30 am to get a softer brand.

Usually Quilted Northern. I see so many people love Charmin, personally I hate it and I have been told by more than one plumber that I know, that Charmin is the worst toilet paper for your plumbing, even if you aren't on a septic tank, just bad stuff period.

Charmin Soft!!!!

Do NOT buy Charmin Strong. It will clog your toliet. When they first started making Charmin Strong, it seemed like everyone I knew had a plumbing issue. Well, we all started talking and it seemed that we had all bought the Charmin Strong. That stuff does not dissolve in water. I would swear that it isn't biodegradable.

A couple years ago, they changed the red packaging to Strong, and I just never got used to the thickness of it. It doesn't take much to use too much TP with the Strong. Ultra in the blue packaging is just too thick, even if it is softer.
They now have the Charmin Basic in an orange package, thinner than the Strong, but just as good. And a 12 pack of Basic costs about $5 and is cheaper than Quilted Northern, Scotts, or Angel Soft.

All of the Charmins are tested and noted to be septic tank safe. But I've only ever had city sewers.

I used to use the Charmin in the red package until they changed it.

I have been trying all different brands and haven't liked any of them as much as original Charmin.

The basic Charmin is an okay alternative.

Charmin Ultra Soft!! Have actually had house guests ask which brand we use because they love it!

When I was on my green kick, I only bought Marcal because it is made from recycled paper. It was OK. Then, I bought the Trader Joes recycled version and it shred into little paper snow. Just awful. So, I splurged in tons of something much fluffier. I'm running out now, though, and will probably go back to Marcal for the recycled stuff. Seems a shame to use virgin trees for that purpose, know what I mean?

White Cloud regular two-ply tissue. It's moderately priced and soft. :)

Ok but who is telling you that Charmin is safe? And it may be safe for spetic tanks, but the fact is, is clogs toilets. Plumbers that I know say it isn't and they don't have anything to gain by telling you not to use it. In fact, just the opposite.
