Let's talk Toilet Tissue

We use Cottonelle. And if we are on a driving vacation, I bring my own TP with us!

But when the budget used to be tight, I bought Angel soft.

I agree. Charmin Strong will clog your toliet!! :lmao:

Usually Quilted Northern. I see so many people love Charmin, personally I hate it and I have been told by more than one plumber that I know, that Charmin is the worst toilet paper for your plumbing, even if you aren't on a septic tank, just bad stuff period.

Ok but who is telling you that Charmin is safe? And it may be safe for spetic tanks, but the fact is, is clogs toilets. Plumbers that I know say it isn't and they don't have anything to gain by telling you not to use it. In fact, just the opposite.

Here at DD's (all new plumbing and one new toilet almost 5 years ago - another new toilet 3 years ago) and they had major, major problems with the Charmin Strong clogging the toilets - no matter how little was used for each "sitting".. DD's DH asked one of his best friends from high school (he's 40and has been a plumber for 20+ years now) and he said it's the worse possible thing you can use - for septics or sewers..

Up to the lake I have a septic - and for now, I use Angel Soft and so far, no problems.. (Also got a new toilet either last spring or the spring before - can't quite remember off hand..) However, this same plumber told me to watch the way it dissolves in the toilet every now and then (just take a normal amount a person would use and toss it in there) and if it doesn't begin to break down and dissolve pretty quickly it's time to change brands or I will end up with serious septic tank issues.. So far it's okay - and hopefully they won't decide to go with a "new, improved" version..

Either Scott's Ultra Soft or Target Brand (Up and Up)...love both--good prices and not rough!

I'm not brand specific. I usually buy whatever is on sale and I have coupons for. Most of the time it is Scotts, Cottonelle or Quilted Northern.

We use Scots due to our septic system. Just about everything else plugs up our toilet horribly. And of course, I am the only one in the family who knows how to use a plunger! LOL! I order my tp from Amazon Subscribe and Save. It completely embarrasses DH that I order it online, but it saves me time and money! I never run out of toilet paper that way!

we have septic too and every time we used any kind of charmin we seemed to have problems, my fav is cottennelle, but I also buy angel soft, or really whatever is cheapest/sale, our last purchase was the Aldi brand 18 double rolls for $7 and I was impressed, we may stick with that

(Underlining mine..) If I don't find a coupon that is cheaper for what I'm currently using, I may have to try that out since I'll be making a huge "stock up" trip to Aldi's before I leave for the lake anyhow..

So far it's worked out well for you? Good to know..:thumbsup2

We cloth diaper our DD, and have cloth wipes for that in the bathroom, so...
