WOW! Both the Penguins and the Canucks faced elimination from the playoffs last night and they BOTH WON!!!!!!

HAHAHA It was awesome watching the Penguins KILL the Flyers 10-3! Wow something went either seriously wrong with the Flyers or the Penguins have figured something out and may just come back to win the series!

I'm happy for the Canucks having Daniel Sedine back. I think it helped! They were so in sync last night. Lets see if they can win the next 3!

Not likely if Henrik gets whats coming to him for the elbow to Brown's head in the first period. Doubt Shanahan has the guts to hand down a suspension for that deliberate hit.

You guys can blame Shanahan all you want but it is still the players that are taking these cheap shots. The player themselves need to take some responsibility and do something about it. I don't mean they should return to the days of the Broad Street Bullies but these guys are in this together. Even the NHLPA should be trying to put a stop to this crap.

Quennville gets fined $10,000 for dissing the refs (rightfully so, how did Chicago end up killing a penalty for that? The league needs to apologize for one of the worst missed calls I've seen in a while...if they apologized for a missed offsides they should apologize for that)

And Weber gets $2,500 for smashing zets' face into the glass....



Message league is sending: Criticism of refs= 4X worse than trying to concuss a star player.

Good job NHL.



Also, that $2500 fine is ridiculous. If I can afford to pay the fine without getting into financial trouble when I'm have barely any money, it's NOT going to be punishment for an NHL player AT ALL. Weber made enough to pay that fine in ONE SHIFT. So dumb.

It's disgusting. He should have been thrown out immediately once it happened. As my husband says all the time, any player to take out another player with a dirty hit needs to be out as long as the hurt player. If their career is ended due to a hit, then the offending player also needs to have his career ended.

SO happy the Hawks won last night. These referees have been horrible. Personally, I feel their crappy calls have determined the outcome of the games. They should also be suspended indefinitely for not calling a penalty when one is most definitely due.

Congrats! LOVED those rats raining down. I like seeing small markets grow! (doesn't hurt that I also hate the Devils).

Hopefully the Hawks make a comeback. That series has been awful as far as officiating. From the first goal of the series where the Yotes had CLEARLY too many men on the ice, to the Toews penalty after the Torres hit, the Hawks deserve to come back.

And I'm glad the Flyers let Pittsburgh win two more games before closing out the series so my prediction was correct! Winner AND games.

Hopefully the Canucks can stay alive tonight and I'm glad to see the Bruins tie the series. should be a good game seven

Yesterday could not have been any better for me. First, I got to watch the Penguins get bounced in the first round. And true to form, they were chirping in the refs ear the whole time. Then, it was a whole bunch of nail biting, cheering and swearing watching my Bruins pull one out in OT. Then, got to watch the Kings take down the President's Cup winning Canucks. And not even 5 minutes after the game, the goalie contreversy for NEXT year has already begun.

All I know is the B's better win on Wednesday. They have to, or the playoffs will be boring for me. All the teams I hate are already gone. I won't have anyone to root against.

Its nice to hear some non-Chicago people here agree with the officiating, the hit etc. (Almost makes me feel bad for in turn cheering that the Detroit and the Canuckleheads are out!!! Almost )

This has been a really interesting year for playoff hockey with many favorites and higher seeds going out so early... I thought Pittsburgh-Philly was an amazing series, I wanted it to go longer!

The Red Wings are my team, and I'm sad they are out but I didn't anticipate that they would fare well against Nashville anyway, so no surprises there. Pekke Rinne is really incredible. I used to have a lot of respect for the Predators and the fan base they created in a small market, but I am really disappointed in their fans and players after that series. Their captain's behavior and attitude after the Zetterberg hit bothered me, but not as much as their fans chanting "you suck" during the traditional post-series handshaking, a time that's supposed to be reflective of class and sportsmanship. It was disheartening and IMO, uncalled for. It's too bad, really.
