What are you doing to make your hands look good for your wedding pictures. I have noticed lately, I have big old man hands. They are dry and rough and my nails are crappy. So, I know I am going to get some tips or something put on before I go down, so that at least my nails are pretty.

But, for my hands I bought a 'beauty queen wave' kit at Bath and Body Works this evening. It ws 50% off, and I had a gift card, so I figured it was a win win purchase. I has some "Glove Potion #9" lotion and two moisturizing gloves. I tried it this evening, and it has definitely made a difference. I think it will need to just become a nightly routine to because my hands have a long way to go.

So, what are you doing? Also, do you wash your hands a lot? I am forever having to use the purell antibacterial stuff because of the environments that I am in all day. I think it dries out my hands even more than they are normally.

Start getting manicures every weekend. They are like 10 dollars at nail salons and continue to do your lotion every night.

This is one of the things I miss most about Jersey!! Do you know it's almost impossible to find good, cheap nail salons down here in Austin?? And by "good", I mean do not cause pain or draw blood... I'm not being overly picky! Whenever I go back, getting a decent manicure/pedicure at a reasonable price is at the top of my list!

Ooh, that Purell stuff is killer. They make a kind now that has moisturizer or lotion in it. Why don't you try that in addition to the night gloves. (Great idea, by the way. I may get some.)

And if you do decide to go the regular manicure route, do yourself a favour and pick up a manicure set and bring it with you. Better to be safe than sorry.

If you need to use Purell, use the one with Moisturizer. But its better to wash with soap and water, if you ask me.

As soon as you wash your hands, pat dry and apply lotion asap. I don't use Bath and Body anymore becasue it leaves my hands oily. I've been using Tone Mango lotion- and it does WONDERS for my dry skin- it drys quickly, leaves my hands smooth and it smells DELICIOUS!

Do the same as soon as you come out of the shower. Don't wait until you are out of the bathroom. Dry yourself and apply the lotion ASAP. Also, like Lynn said, apply the lotion right after washing up before you go to bed.
If you do this, you'll see the difference after a week.

I used to have really DRY hands- they were gross. I've been doing the above for about a year now and i will NEVER GO BACK. My hands are much smoother now.

:thumbsup2

Lotion wise I recommend good ole Johnson and Johnson Baby Lotion (in the pink bottle). It always makes a big difference in my hands in a short amount of time. I love it!

I wash my hands numberous times a day-- im a wash-a-holic. My hands get SO dry esp in the fall/winter. They crack terribly. As long as I use baby lotion they do really well.
