Okay--what's your must have foods at DLR that you can't get at WDW??

I'm good with table service--looking for quick service breakfast, lunch (and maybe 1 dinner).

But most importantly snacks!

Which are your favs and where do I get them??

corn dogs from the Little Red Wagon and Fried Green Tomato Sandwich from the Hungry Bear

Gotta go with Tigger Tails from Pooh's Corner (located in Critter Country.) Makes for a delicious snack! (sugar coated marshmallow with carmel)

Last fall we were sharing a table at BTR BBQ with 3 women WDW vets who were on their first DL trip. They were a lot of fun to talk to and they overheard my son & I discussing dessert. I had asked him if he wanted the cookie skillet there or go to CC for tigger tails - and he yelled Tigger Tails! So they asked what the heck we were talking about - this was the first I knew they weren't sold at WDW. Anyway, they decided they had to have a DL original and we ended up walking to CC with them. We parted ways once there because my son wanted to do another run on Splash. After the ride we went into the shop and there was one of the women having a dozen boxed up. She loved them so much! And since they were flying back to PA the next morning, was taking a bunch back as treats for her nieces and nephews.

Breakfast: I would probably head to River Belle Terrace for Mickey pancake. It's a basic pancake, but it looks like Mickey Mouse. So cute and very classic.

Lunch: French Market for pretty much anything on the menu. I really like the french dip sandwich. Pretty much everything I've had on the menu has been very good.

Dinner: Plaza Inn for the fried chicken.

Disneyland has lots of outstanding snacks foods. The most "unique" are probably the Tiger Tails and the Cheshire Tails. They're found at the Pooh Corner Candy Shop in Critter Country.

I also like the Mickey shaped beignets at the Mint Julep Window in NOS (next to French Market).

If you like macaroons, then the Jolly Holiday has a Matterhorn Macaroon.

As far as food, I love the Jolly Holiday for lunch. I also love dinner at Flo's in DCA. Oh, and any of the snacks at the Cozy Cones. My sister loves the dill pickle popcorn, but they have never had it when I've been there (they rotate the flavors, last time we tried the cheese and bacon popcorn).

We love:

Plaza Inn for "Fried Chicken"

Carnation Cafe for "Loaded Baked Potato Soup"

Flo's V8 Cafe in DCA/Carsland, for the "Turkey Dinner", "Mac & cheese", "Apple Tarts with Cheddar"

Snacks:

Candy Palace on Main Street, for "Fudge Mallow Squares"

Pooh's Corner in Critter Country, for "Cashew Caramel Chocolate Pretzel Rods" or "Shortbread Mickey Ear Cookie"

That's just a beginning----there are sooooo many others(drooling!;))

Is Plaza Inn a counter service or sit down? Fried chicken sounds amazing.

Thank you so much for all these recommendations!!! Keep them coming--I'm making a list on my phone to take with me!!

(Side note: I was at DLR for the half marathon weekend last year. Since I was running a race, I had to watch what I was eating. But I am a popcorn addict so all I wanted was popcorn from the Cozy Cone. Went there the first day. The butter machine was working but not the flavored one. And this was the case all 3 days. I was so sad. So I cannot WAIT to try some this time. )

My favorite things -

Chicken Fuseli at Pizza Port
Cheddar Broccoli Soup at Pacific Wharf
Chocolate filled croissant - Used to be at Blue Ribbon Bakery and I'm assuming they are at Jolly Holiday

For breakfast, we typically go to Tomorrowland Terrace

We were on our 1st trip to DL over Easter break after going to DW MANY times. Three things that I will miss are the chocolate covered peanut butter "sandwiches" , the fried green tomato sandwiches at Hungry Bear (awesome onion rings there also). Lastly, the little pies from flo's V8

Where do you get the chocolate peanut butter "sandwiches?" I love anything chocolate and PB!

They have them pretty much everywhere they sell candy, cookies, apples etc. I got one at the shop in DTD, and one at one of the shops on main street.

Things we love: steak salad at the walk up window across from HM, chowder in a bread bowl, corn dogs from the red truck on Main Street, cheese cake with raspberries on top ( jolly holiday or river belle) . And, my must have is the peanut butter sandwich.
