Snowdrops-What could make a gardener lighten up more then the first flower of the season, Snowdrops. They sometimes pop up right out of the snow, can spring be far.
When these lovely little flowers make their appearence in Febuary or March, I know it's time to think about gardening again.
Tiny little bulbs planted 4 inches apart and 4 inches deep in the fall in ordinary soil. Under deciduous trees or in sun.
How can something so easy bring so much joy to a gardener. I can't answer, but I can tell you my heart skips when they appear. Maybe it the ho-hum drab, lack of color of the winter months. Or maybe it's the fact winter is coming to an end and I'll be playing in the mud soon. Listening to the sounds of peepers and knowing I have 3 seasons to get it right this year.
Want to bring a smile to your face in Febuary plant Snowdrops this fall.
