Crocus-Another early bloomer that heralds the coming of spring.

There are 3 main groups of spring flowering crocus. Chrysanthus that bloom very early with small flowers and are resistant to bad weather. Vernus is more popular with larger flowers. The third group contains many botanic species (ones that have retained their natural characteristics) The flowers are usually average to small with bright colors.

Plant them by the dozens, they look their best when planted in masses.

Crocus grow to heights of 4-6 inches. They like ordinary soil thats well-drained, and full sun. Plant 4-5 inches deep.

One of my favorite sights is to see masses of deep purple and gold crocus blooming.

I adore crocus! It's one of my favorite bulbs.....along with daffys, tulips, hyacinths, grape hyacinths, lilies....uh.....well, I'll admit it..........I've never met a bulb I didn't like!!!!!

I planted 200 of them in my yard last year, they are great !!!
