Hearing my temporary next door neighbor shower, flush the toilet, and snore is not my idea of a great night sleep....so which resort do you consider soundproof? Any moderates?

Side note, I recently returned from WL & BWI and I couldn't hear a thing in WL, however BWI I experienced everything listed above, shower running, toilet flushing, snoring, and phone ringing from my neighbor.

We found the quietest at the BWV, the noisiest at the All Stars--they were intolerable.

The GF has been generally quiet in our three visits, the WL was quiet but near empty, same with YC. BC has been a mixed bag, and POFQ was fairly quiet, but we were all sick, taking cold medicine taht knocked us out.

The Polynesian there seems to be hall noice more than neighbor noise.

I have never had a problem with noise at POR. We always stay on the top floor (2nd) so we don't hear the people in the room above us moving around. We travel at the end of August, so the resort isn't full. We have had good luck at the ASMu, also the top floor (3rd). I bring my travel sound machine, so that helps.

I never had any noise problem at my one bedroom villa at The Boardwalk.

At The Swan I did have some noisy neighbors. They were most likely making love, and here I was on my annual *SOLO* trip, with my DH back home.
The actual noise was disturbing, but, it also made me feel kind of lonely.

We stayed at Saratoga Springs Resort the week before Christmas (17-23). It was very quiet even with our balcony door open and the resort either having full or close to full occupancy. :)

Good luck on your search.

I found the Polynesian to very quiet and the Garden wing rooms at the CR to quiet as well. Try to get a 3rd floor room at the Poly or CR garden room and you can't go wrong. There is a lot of hallway noise due to kids running down the hall at night but you can get that at any resort. Probably worse at the Values due to large amount of kids/teens staying there. My neighbors had their teenage daughter go to some type of band concert gathering there and said the All Star resort (I don't remember which one) they stayed at was pretty loud and chaotic with all of the teens every where. :scared1:

I toured the AllStar movies because I thought it would be neat to stay there but I found the rooms small and noisy as well. I'm sure that some things were cut back on to save money and sound proofing was one of them. :confused3

As for the power flush toilets those things are so loud I bet you can hear them in most of the resorts. After all they use compressed air to help the low flow toilet properly flush and not back up. :scared:

Knock on wood, in the 9 trips to WDW, I have never had a noise problem at FW, CR or CSR.

Anne - I think I remember you saying you have stayed at AKL -- what is the noise level there? We've stayed at ASMov. and POFQ, and while we've had pretty good luck, our room at POFQ was right near the pool, however we didn't hear pool noise, but mousekeeping........ the banging, and the golf carts or trucks they ride in............... ARRGGG that was awful!!! It seemed to start before the roosters woke.......... LOL , seriously though, that was not anything I'd like to experience again!!!!

When we stayed at POR in Oct we heard people peeing, pooping, & flushing from the other rooms. It was disgusting & really turned me off the place. We had a 1st floor room in building 14.

Three stays at the AKL, never bothered by noise, and twice we were in rooms not so far off the main lobby. The only thing we heard at night was cricketts and an occasional low bray from the Ankole. It was very peaceful. In fact, other than the BWV, probably the quietest, and peaceful just seems to be the word to describe it.

Hmmm...My DH can't be here for my birthday this year, maybe I'll just treat myself to a night there ;)

I don't remember hearing kids/toilets/noise anywhere at Disney. I wouldn't worry about it... if you are super sensitve to noise maybe bring some earplugs to help you sleep?

I do remember a dog barking insessantly at the Hard Rock Hotel :dog:

POFQ toilet flushing!!!!! I swear the room next to us one night they flushed for an hour straight at 11:30pm!!!!! That was all the noise we heard but it was enough to drive you nuts when done repeatedly!

and noise from other rooms and from outside (and we were near the pool) never really invaded our room. Yes, at 5AM when it was dead silent you could hear a "flush" somewhere but not bad at all. I have stayed in A LOT of hotel rooms and would rate POFQ as one of the most sound proof. JMHO

Just returned from ASMu - had a room on the second floor facing the pool. Did not have any issues, during the early a.m. when all was really quiet we could hear the occassional flush but that was it. Obviously if kids are running in the halls the noise will carry, but we didn't experience this, we obviously had thoughtful neighbors whom were well behaved and considerate. As for sleeping we all sleep with ear plugs so none of us had any trouble not that we noticed anything while up late.

We thought both CSR and CBR were very quiet. POFQ, we had very noisy neighbors (slamed the door all the time) The only request we make is for a top floor which I think helps.

Stayed at POR one year next door to DS and BIL - heard BIL's snoring (he is very loud!!!) and my DS yelling at him to lay down and stop snoring!

This year at POR we were facing the quiet pool and it was quite easy to hear the noise through the door.

Have not noticed noises from bathrooms - other than flushing and showers running, but I think you get this most places?!

Our stay at the Polynesian was the worst as far as noise issues go....a ton of noise through the connecting door to the next unit. The room changed hands and we still got the noise. But, I think a lot of it was due to the people, not so much the connecting door. Both groups were very loud. Then, the number of kids running down those halls at night, banging on the doors as they went past....oy!!
My stays at BW have all been incredibly quiet. POR, both sections, have been quiet. I did hear toilets flushing here more than usual, but it was in the middle of the night, so someone may have had an issue. Add that to my light sleeping and you have a noise issue.
My stays at both AllStarMusic and Pop were very quiet. I would have to say that Pop could have been empty based on the lack of room noise. Yes, I did hear people going past my door when I was on the back side of bldg 2 in 50's. I was on the third level. But, I never heard them again. I think it was just the excitement of getting to WDW for them.
I haven't had any problems with thin walls, flushing toilets. It's mostly been 'human error'.
