Let's Take A Virtual Trip To The Confectionary . . .

It's a family tradition for us to stop by at the candy shop on Main St. on our last night at WDW and buy TONS of fudge and candy. The children usually get those large suckers and we buy lots of fudge and chocolates. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmm...I can't wait!

Mary

A big bag of saltwater taffy - vanilla, blueberry, strawberry, Goofy, Donald, Mickey.

Plus a couple of caramel covered marshmellow sticks covered with chocolate.

Maybe some fudge. For sure some of those giant pecan caramel clusters.

My son will get some of the pick your own color M&Ms.

My husband loves the giant peanut butter cups with Mickey on top.

warning to all there will be NO Large Mickey heads with the ears dipped in chocolate at MK on any days I go there. Last year I purchased so many of them the lady shipped them to my room for me. This is not done I was told. OK I did purchase 14 of them. :rotfl: That was all they had available that day. I told them I would be back the next day for more. I purchased another 5. I now know to put my order in when I get to the park and they will put aside for me. :rolleyes1

Ok you buy all the Tshirts I know what my friends like and its chocolate dipped Mickey heads. I have my DH boss so hooked on them he gave me $200 to buy them and bring back. He also gave me a few UPS shipping labels to charge the shipping back to him at the office. :rotfl2:

This is the most requested item I have brought back for people.

Now I have to find the local package place to purchase the box and ship them off. HMMM I wonder if the front desk can help.

Frann- where did you get them, how much did they coast and how big are they?

i just realized i have been candy deprived...only bought 1( very yummy) piece in germany and 1 in italy..missed all the good uk choc., missed all these except 1 mickey krispy treat..i am really going to have to set a candy goal next time

holy moly where are these???( ok now i gotta go eat a dove bar, simply no self control)

Does the MK confectionary stay open an extra hour after the rides officially close like the shops on Main st do??

Do they have a good selection left? I don't want to carry the candy around and get it squished or melted ........... :)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the candy shop is open as late as the rest of the stores...I do the same thing, going to the stores after the park closes.

Build your own mickey rice krispie treats at Goofy's Candy Co. at DTD (where you choose the toppings for the rice kripie treat and they make it while you watch)!! I dream about these and can't wait to go back and get another one ::MickeyMo

OMG!!! You can build your own Mickey Rice Krispie Treats?????!!!!!! The rice Krispie treats ANYWHERE in Disney are my absolute fave! Especially the ones on Main Street USA in the MK.
So, this thing about building your own, is this new? I will DEFINITELY have to do that!
I'm going in 9 days, and am now even more excited than I was before b/c I can build my own Rice Krispie Treat! Thank you so much for mentioning that! :jumping1:

Ok I had to post 2 good stories about the Confectionary!!

First, when I was on my first CP, we used to head down to the confectionary every night to help stock. That is the best smelll in the world  To this day, every time I walk in it just takes me back. One night, I watched an entire dress rehearsal for the Easter Parade in a erily quiet, sweet smelling confectionary!

Second is, on our last trip, Dh and I bought a box of white chocolate covered pretzels and just sat on Main St. watching the castle change colors. So beautiful!!!

P.S. Did I mention we used to get free samples of the leftovers :lovestruc

I love getting an ice cream cone at the Main St USA ice cream shoppe right before Spectro Magic and sitting on the curb eating it during the parade. There's something so great about that, reminds me of my childhood.

These are in the glass counter area, by the peanut butter cups, etc. They are kind of rectangular shaped. I didn't see any plain chocolate covered marshmallows, only the ones with all the sprinkles, M&Ms, etc and found these instead. I love chocolate and marshmallows, add in caramel and I am in LOVE.

I found them at the CR in their store, in DTD, Disney Studios (Villains Candy), etc. I think they were about $1.95 or so.

Chocolate covered Rice Krispie Treat for sure. Then later in the trip, chocolate fudge with nuts. Always have to have one bag of cotton candy while waiting for the parade to start. BUT, walk down Main Street to the bakery and get a Cherry Turnover for breakfast. That is the best deal in the World. $2.02 with tax.
