In anticipation of a weekend of keeping our slides open (although at least this time we arent required to keep them open the entire time--we just have to try), I thought it might be fun to share some memories from our weekends keeping our Everest rides open. I know we all got a bit stir crazy being stuck in our rooms for hours and hours, and many funny stories came out of that weekend.
So, here are some of my stories:
Sometime during the weekend, I realized that if I sat in just the right spot next to Aengus, I could hit him in the face, and boy did I enjoy doing that. It sure broke up the monotony. I also hit a few other team members, but Aengus was the most fun to hit. He cant be a true lava boy with all of the marks on his face from the beatings
Aengus had a little friend stalking him throughout the weekend. It always seemed she was standing outside of our team area begging to come in, and she was particularly fond of my game of hitting Aengus. She did manage to get into the team area at one point by following Aengus into our teleporter lobby.
Probably the funniest moment that entire weekend came near the end of the competition Sunday night. It was me, Redbaybound, Aengus, Lifeof, and I think DesertCat and Cazalet may have been there as well. We were all watching the Olympic Closing Ceremonies, and chatting about it when we were watching. All of the sudden, their was a little presentation by Canada, as they are hosting the next Olympic games. They showed these people running with big white blocks, and we all just started laughing, because they looked like Ice Cube chairs, which we had all so desperately worked to win that month. It was just about the funniest thing that happened that weekend.
The other thing that was pretty funny was going into the Great Movie Ride, and racing against friends. I would always make sure I got a head start
Jellyrolls likes to win you know.
The best thing that came out of that weekend was the strengthening of friendships with my team members who I spent many hours manning the room with--Aengus, Cazalet, Redbaybound, DesertCat, Lifeof (although he doesn't count, as we were already great friends), and Dooza (who spent many hours manning the room with us, even though she was not on our team).
