Let's Make Sundaes

I do like chocolate syrup, but my favorite is hot fudge. I do not need whipped cream, NO to the cherry, NO to nuts of any type in or on my ice cream. For a sundae, I go between 4 flavors and love them all. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee or mint chocolate chip. Not many places around here make banana ice cream but if i see it somewhere, that would be another choice. Once in awhile I have had caramel sauce and think it’s delicious but only on vanilla or chocolate ice cream. When eating with caramel sauce, I think why I don’t have it more often as it is good. However, I am a chocolate girl at heart.

@mjkacmom my mom loved wet walnuts. She grew up in Union County until age 12, moving to Bergen county. DH & I were raised in Bergen County. I am wondering if it is more a North Jersey thing? I don’t see them as often down in South Jersey. Some places have them but not like it used to be. Although, since I am a no nuts person, perhaps i just don’t notice.

Depending on mood...

Choice 1- Peanut butter cup ice cream with hot fudge

Choice 2 - peppermint stick ice cream with hot fudge, over a brownie

In either case, it's not a sundae without whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry!

I just want to say, if you want to try the best hot fudge ever, get this:

It is heaven. When it gets cold in the fridge, you can see the butter solids separated out in the top. That's how you know it's good. You have to stir it after you heat it to blend it back up. It is a literal jar of fudge.

Also, the salted caramel sauce is the bomb as well.

My perfect sundae is vanilla or chocolate swirl ice cream with chocolate syrup and a sprinkle of pecans.

OK, so I was intrigued by the walnuts. Somehow, even though I'd never noticed them before, my grocery store carries them! So I bought a jar when I was there this morning. I had a little on ice cream after lunch, and I'm converted. 🍨😃

My question is, do I store the rest of the jar in the fridge or cabinet?

Fridge. Nuts will go rancid once exposed to air. Keeping them cold will keep them fresh longer.

YOU are pretty much reading my mind!!

Depending on my mood (as in, what ice cream I want):
Peppermint stick ice cream (NOT mint chip) with hot fudge;
Vanilla ice cream with caramel;
Chocolate ice cream with peanut butter sauce.

MUST have whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry- otherwise it's just ice cream with sauce!

No Sundaes for me this week. I made cupcakes on Saturday, so those will be my dessert this week.

I am thinking of getting some Chocolate Ice Cream (next weekend) to go with the Marshmallow topping that this thread convinced me I needed.
