Hey Everyone!

Hopefully I have this is the right place.

I want to use this as a weight loss journal and hopefully a place to seek encouragment when it gets difficult.

Background:
My name is Emily and I am 20 years old. I am Canadian and am in my third year at McMaster University. I am majoring in Theatre and Film and doing a double minor in English and History. Hopefully I will be going to teachers college September 2011.

When I graduated High School I weighed 135 pounds and felt really good about myself. Then the freshman 15 happened along with the sophmore 15 and I suddenly found myself 30 pounds heavier than I started. I want to feel good about myself again so I decided to change my eating habits and excercise habits.

Right now I weigh 155.6 pounds. I am about 5'7ish. I have lost 8.2 pounds since I started third year. My long term goal is 125 pounds. My short term goal is 140 by Christmas time.

I though I would post pictures of how I looked before University as well as how I looked when I started my diet.

So me at my heaviest: 163.8

And me at my thinnest! (I saved this outfit so I can get a picture when I reach my goal)

So there you have it. The good and the bad. I am really dedicated to losing weight so hopefully I will have good news to report back in the near future!

Em

Starting Weight: 163.8
Current Weight: 155.6

So day 1 went well as it usually does. I spent an hour at the gym and ate well.

Good start I think. :)

Emily, you are beautiful in both pictures!

I also gained weight my freshman and sophomore years as an undergrad, and then lost a good deal of weight my senior year - I wanted to look good in a bikini! (My regain and more and then loss is another story).

Thank you redlight! I know I am by no means "fat" but the difference is undeniable! It just such a horrible feeling to look at yourself and think 'what happened to me?' I am looking forward to feeling good about myself again.

Congratulations on your weightloss! Looks like your almost there!

Today was another good day!

I ate well, excercised this morning and worked a six hour waitress shift.

I drank ALOT of coffee though. Midterm this morning at 9am.

I think my excercise and working made up for the coffee.

Thanks for the compliment. My weight's been stuck for the last two months, but at least I'm back to where I was before breaking up with my ex a year ago.

Coffee's not all bad, Emily. Good for you in keeping your exercise up. It's hard to lose weight when waiting tables. I think you should feel good about yourself and focus on looking even better.

Everything is still going great. I am really loving this new panini place on campus. They give you the option of a wrap instead of bread which makes it more healthy. I am excited to weigh in tomorrow!
