Lets go Steelers!!!!!!!!!!

I'm right there with you on the superstitions. My Terrible Towels didn't come out until the first playoff game (as Myron would have it) and have since been hung on my bedpost every night. They come off only for the games, when one of them is tied on my head and the other is in my hand to wave.

For the Indianapolis game, I got called into work during the 3rd quarter to do some data testing and I wore my Terrible Towel in the front pocket of my jeans. Polamalu's interception got reversed and I said to my co-workers "I don't care how stupid this looks, I have to wear it on my head" and I did.

Don't question the mojo...just run with it!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

NEVER question the mojo! :teeth: :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

We also have 2 Terrible Towels. One is "unlucky." It is hanging on the front porch so its bad luck won't rub off on the TV and interfere with the game. ( :rotfl2: ) We figure that it would be really bad luck to get rid of it, because it *is* a Terrible Towel. Keeping it outside is a safe way to display it.

Dh bought our other Terrible Towel last weekend when he was in Greensburg visiting his mom. It's a lucky towel. We just know it is. It is getting warmed up for the game by sitting on top of the entertainment center. It cannot go on the TV until game time. That's the rule.

We strung yellow lights on our front porch, plus we have a Steelers flag out there and the (unlucky) Terrible Towel. We are a beacon of light deep in Ravens territory. :cheer2:

Only a true fan understands this logic :thumbsup2

I love this thread!

Aww superstition. We've got it too. The Steelers flag was up when we lost and hasn't been up since. It's unlucky.

a friend of ours is a huge Steelers and Pirates fan (yes there still are a few out there...nobody will ever be able to say he jumped on the bandwagon if they start winning!). Every year, as the sports seasons change, he switches ball caps. This year, after the last game of the losing streak when the season was looking glum, I noticed he had on a Pirates cap. I kind of chuckled and asked him if football season was over...at which he was amused that I noticed. Well, needless to say....he's been wearing that Pirates hat ever since...and they've won every game...I'm assuming he'll be wearing that Pirates hat proudly Sunday night too!

LOL! My DH came home yesterday and saw I had hung my steeler flag on the porch.....he took it down.... Told me I was nuts for hanging that unlucky flag out! :teeth: (It's a really NICE flag too!) LOL!

Love the cartoon! :teeth: :thumbsup2

Love the cartoon and LOL at the other superstitions -

About a year ago I let DH turn the computer room into a Steelers room and he got some things for Christmas that have not yet been put up. Well, last week I was told not to dare put them up or move them, it might jinx the team! :teeth:

This is the only pin I want to see. sorry the img is so small.:magnify:

Hey! I grew up in Greensburg! It was awesome to be less than 15 miles away from training camp. I remember going there many times during my childhood. ahhh...the memories :teeth:
I'm now in "south central PA" where there are waaaayyyyy too many Ravens fans!

Neither dh nor I are from the Greensburg area, though we're both from Pittsburgh. My MIL is in a nursing home in Greensburg so that's where we spend a lot of time when we visit. They built a HUGE Super Wal-Mart on Rt. 30, which is usually a good source of Steelers supplies. Last weekend they were sold out of just about everything and dh found a good party store on Rt. 30 where he stocked up on Black & Gold. He said that all of Greensburg was decked out in Black & Gold and that there was a fun & festive atmosphere everywhere. There was a car dealership on Rt. 30 that had all of their black & gold cars lined up along the road. He said it was really cool! He forgot the digital camera--I wish I had pictures of it to post.

Ravens fans loathe the Steelers. Steelers fans don't give a hoot about the Ravens. They are not even on our radar. I think they are just jealous of us. :rotfl2:

Here are my pictures of what the Strip looked like on Saturday!!! It was Steeler mania and it was AWESOME!!!

The scene in front of the tshirt shop. The cops were only letting a few people in at a time. It was like waiting in lines at Disney!

Penn Ave got shut down and there was STILL barely room to walk around.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/players/01/10/tattoos0116/index.html

I saw an interview where he said he loves the game so much he's always smiling and laughing when he's playing so he got a smiling Mickey!

Thanks for the cartoon, love it!

We'll be wearing our black 86-me, 7-dh, and 82-ds jersey's for luck. I asked dh if maybe he should wear his white #7 since they're wearing white and he said nope, not going to change it. I wanted a baseball cap and thought about calling all the sports stores in town to try and find one (we live in GA) but then I thought I'd be afraid to wear a new hat anyway, LOL.
