Oh man a pep rally. I really am missing "home".
::yes:: ::yes:: Me too!!

I'm going to a SuperBowl party at my in-laws temple so at least I will be able to watch with someone who doesn't shut the door because I am yelling at the TV. :teeth:

If you went to the pep rally today at Heinz field, how was it??? What'd they do??? Details, details, I need details. I'm too far away.

Check out this link. A very creative DDA DISer designed this for me and I thought I would share it with you all. I'm planning on making mine into a iron-on transfer. To save it to your computer, just right click your mouse and select save picture as. The image will then be put into your hard drive and what ever folder you want it in. here's the link to the design. Ford Field Mickey

It was awesome!!! I'm so glad we went. DS8 was in Steeler heaven. We got tied up in a little traffic apparently not as much as people who arrived later but it was worth every second. (it was delayed for about 40 minutes because the players were stuck in traffic) You would not believe the people, they were saying around 25,000!!! Crowd was crazy as you would expect with Steelers fans. Players came out and we went wild but when Bettis came out the place just roared. Can't really describe it. I'm so glad we did not miss it. :cheer2:

We were at the pep rally too. Trying to park was the hardest. We ended up near the Clark Bar. I was actually tempted to wear my DIS button on coat. My DH and I really enjoyed it alot. My DS would of loved it more if he could have ran around the field. Also didn't understand that the players were in the stadium. It was just watching TV to him. It is my b-day this weekend and we bought the cutest BUS cake at Shop n Save. :wizard:

Thanks for sharing about the pep rally. I guess you'd expect a little bit of traffic congestion....

We went to Sam's club today and a guy was walking out wearing a Steelers Wind suit and had a terrible towel haningin out of the back of collar. I didn't get a chance to catch him to say hi, but he looked great. My son was wearing his Steelers vest and was showing off the emblem to people saying, "Steelers!". We had to quiet him down since we're in Manning country.

Ok, Pittsburghers...where are you all seeing the best deals on Steeler shirts right now? (tee's and sweat shirts) I want to get a bunch to send down to my sister in Myrtle beach for her family and friends, would like to not spend an arm and a leg too, KWIM?

We're still debating going up to Detroit for Fri and Sat BEFORE the big game. Are there any fan events planned for the Steelers? Pep rallys? GIVE ME A BIG REASON TO GO (besides the Steelers going all the way)... My dh doesn't want to go and then have to sit and twiddle his thumbs. We'll be taking our 3kids w/us.

Here's what I've recently done to our vehicles and our storm door. We also have a 12" round magnetic Steeler's symbol on the hood of our van. Sick aren't I???? insert evil laugh here.... thanks again to the DISer who sent me the link to create my own Steelers sign.

Sure wish I was in Steelers country right now. I got my first thumbs down from a guy. He was really nice about it, he had a thumb down and I kept shaking my thumb up. Maybe I should make that "One for the Thumb" sign and add it to my van....I'm running out of room. There's always DH's car its not completely covered up yet. :teeth:

 Ahhhhh, what a cutie!

:cheer2: HEY STILLER FANS, IF YOU'VE GOT A STEELERS PHOTO TO SHARE POST IT HERE. WE'VE GOT ALL WEEK TO GET PUMPED UP. :cheer2:

That pep rally was a nightmare. The traffic I mean. DH and I had tickets for The Phathom of the Opera that night. It was ridiculous! 279 was backed to 79. There was deadlock all through Pittsburgh and then no place to park. We ended up parking about 5 blocks away. not too fun when you have a skirt and pumps, then we had to walk the 5 blocks back through the city at 11pm.
I love the Steelers, believe me. We had season tickets until they switched to Heinz field, then they just went out of reach for us. But those people who planned this really needed to rethink.
There were people everywhere, weaving through cars, screaming. Kind of fun if I wasn't so worried about not being able to use our $70.00 Phathom seats. Traffic sitting in the middle of the road and the cops out in full force standing on the street corners.
Why wasn't it done on a Saturday or Sunday? Like in Seattle. I would have taken DS then. I just think it could have been done way better.
I'm over it, we got to the show on time. I hope when they have the victory rally its on a weekend!

Wendy,

They are really selling out fast. Did you see The Strip on the news Saturday? DH and I were at Century 3 yesterday. Hometown sports had very little as well as Dicks. Did you try one of those stands along the road?

Wendy,

Walmart (Bethel) did have a bunch of shirts the other day. They were the cheapest ones that I saw. All the places down in the Strip really jacked up their prices. Also, Macy's at SHV had a ton of shirts that were 20 or 25% off.

The stands along the roadside have nothing!! I've never seen it so barren. My DH took the kids to Station Square Saturday and dropped a ton of cash there. He bought both girls jerseys (I have never spent that much on shirts for my girls...guess he can't complain when I bring home a bag from Gymboree) and a hat and jersey for his brother in Portland OR. I got a "Got Ben?" shirt for Sunday. We will look like the Steelers threw up on us come Sunday. But it's been ten years since they've been to the Super Bowl! And over twenty since they won!!! Who knows when it will happen again. Gotta celebrate when it happens. :cheer2:

I actually saw some in the Dollar Store (Family Dollar) on Saturday when I went in to get baloons for the baby shower. I didn't price them though.

can't let those hawks be ahead of us!!!

Nice banner Hay Gan! :teeth:

:bounce: :yay:  :dancer: party: :jumping1: We're going to Detroit for the weekend! :cool1: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :moped:

I spent so much last week on AFC champ hats and t's for DH! Sure wish we lived up there the Pep Rally sounded so fun! :cheer2:

He wore his tshirt out and some guy "asked" if he was one of those bandwagon jumpers. WRONG thing to ask a real fan. Man, he was hot!!
