Let's get the Halloween details already!

Well if those dates above are true then we are just missing it on our Wonder cruise. We sail Sept 27-Oct 1.

My kids were actually a little disappointed by the activities for Halloween on board last year. I wish they would have more than just a few CROWDED games and 2 places they handed out candy at. Maybe a treasure hunt around the ship with trick or treat stations since it was so so crowded in the atrium.

So has anyone heard or seen anything official yet from Disney on the 2015 Halloween dates? We are booking for the 10/31 cruise and I am getting worried that they may choose not to offer anything for Halloween on that cruise, since most of the cruise is after Halloween. I would hate for the kids to miss out on Halloween, and I would have to think Disney would at least do something for them on that first night (even just some form of light trick-or-treating would be fine), but the lack of information is making me nervous.
We did the Halloween cruise last year and they celebrated on the 30. You did not miss much. They had 2 candy stations and a couple small games. My kids liked the party on Carnival better if you can believe that!

Dates are confirmed on the site now:

Ship Sail Dates
Disney Magic 10/4/2015 –10/28/2015
Disney Wonder 10/1/2015 –10/23/2015
Disney Dream 9/7/2015 –10/30/2015
Disney Fantasy 9/5/2015 –10/31/2015
While I get they want to extend the season (and up their bookings), I with they wouldn't do Halloween in September. October seems sufficient.

Some of us like just plain, generic Disney cruises, without "extras".

I could not agree more! I absolutely upset and sad that we will have to suffer through this nonsense on our mid September cruise

I am one of these people. My dd will be back in college and my ds in HS and home with my dh. I am sailing with my mom and we choose September thinking less kids. Yes Ive sailed DCL before and other lines and know there are kids but thought middle of September would be less and reading that a September 14 cruise is a Halloween cruise is a bit much.

Im not interested in Halloween a week or two after Labor Day.

I agree. We'll have kids but Sept 7th we are NOT in Halloween mode and I think it will be weird to have all the decorations, etc on the ship that early. I could do without it for sure.

Wow! The anti-Halloween crowd runs deep in here, I never knew it could be "nonsense" to some.

You can rest assured your cruise will not be ruined. In fact you don't have to try hard to miss the "halloween" on the boat. Although if you loosen up, you may enjoy it!

I've been on a cruise with the Halloween additions. Well, 3 really. Wasn't planned that way, cruises were booked before the HOTHS was added.

While you can "miss" quite a few of the activities by just not going, you can't miss the big Halloween tree in the atrium.

Or the spider webs on the guest services desk

Or on the Bon Voyage bar

As well as the general Halloween Mickey pumpkins and bunting all over

Not to mention the masses of people (adult and child) in costumes all day for the actual HOTHS celebration.

And the Ghost Host making the announcements onboard is a bit irritating (as well as a little difficult to understand at times).

Our cruises weren't ruined, never said they were. I just don't think celebrating Halloween in September is something I'm thrilled with having to do.

Wow! Can't believe how early it's starting for the Dream and Fantasy.

The Magic and Wonder are almost a month behind and don't even have a Halloween cruise over Halloween. Seems a bit odd to me.

For the Wonder it will be the Panama Canal cruise. They probably don't want to keep the decorations up for a two-week cruise. Easier to just take them down. I wouldn't be surprised if they still do something on Halloween itself, though. They have enough days to fill with entertainment!

I'm going to take a chance and weigh in with a vote of appreciation for the Halloween festivities. We have been hoping the Dream would include some Halloween themed sailings in Sept as there was only one 4 night sailing in Oct, and that was Halloween week itself. Not a time our daughter can get off. So we are relieved that we are not missing out by taking the latest Sept 4 night sailing, we live on the west coast so the 4 night is a lot more tempting than a 3 night cruise- the Dream is the only Disney ship we have not yet sailed on (preferring 7 night cruises). The Dream is not carrying passengers (perhaps a mini dry dock) for a good chunk of October- but our 5 yr old is Super Excited to see the characters in their Halloween costumes and is already planning his own. So there might be a few of us who are grateful for the decision. We booked specifically in hopes, And we hope to do one of the Halloween events at Disneyland as well- I don't believe those dates have been released, unlike WDW whom announced theirs quite a while back.

I wish I could remember where, but I swear that I saw the dates listed somewhere... And I remember because my cruise ends September 30, and I remember seeing that all ships EXCEPT Magic start Halloween in Seltember, and that the Magic will start it for the sailing right AFTER ours. Am I totally dreaming this??

No, my cruise won't be ruined. But I wish there were not going to be pumpkins and spider webs all over the place. I go on a Disney Cruise to experience Disney, not Halloween, not in September. I am particularly upset about the jack o lantern faces in teh portholes. The whole thing really, really DOES ruin the atmosphere for me.

It is the week of our 25th anniversary or I would surely change my date!
