Let's get organized! Organizing Task #2!

OP, are you getting rid of 50 army items first?;) If I could convince my husband that he can no longer fit in BDUs from when he was a private 15 years ago we'd be golden.

I'm in though. I HAVE to get rid of some clothes in my closet. I need to get new clothes in there but still haven't been able to get rid of the fat girl clothes. I'm determined to let them go though and I think I can easily pick 50 items that need to go. Of course I'll replace it with at least 35 items but hey that's still space to fill:rotfl:

LOL I have some really old AFTB binders that HAVE to go, and a load of old BDUs that I'm going to try to sell. The hunters here buy them.

Do we get to see pictures of the "new you?" I need to lose some weight too, and could use some inspiration.;)

I'm in! I'll start with clothes tomorrow or Sat. Our new years plans fell through so maybe we should spend the day rearraging the family room.

This is what I've been doing the last few days. I did way more than 50!!

Sometimes I think ebay is too much work! I ususally just donate stuff, or sell it to a local consignment shop.

I did give away my daughter's collection of polly pockets and my little ponies. My 5 year old neice will be very excited :)

Plus my sister is having twins, so any baby stuff that I had left went to her :)

My big rule is that everything needs to have a home. I have a little organizing blog that I try and keep up with (it is hard during the school year)!!

I just moved last year but I have already collected junk. I think I may try this. :)

We want to move down south this summer so I am in!! I have so much stuff I dont know where to start. When I think I make a dent in something somehow a ton of new stuff finds it place into the opening.
My DH has a basement full of JUNK. His grandfather had him help to clean out his basement when he moved and couldnt part with the stuff so made him take it to our house where it has now sat for the past 6 months. I rented a storage unit to help empty the house so we can stage it. A 10x10 unit filled with my DD's stuff and basement stuff. Needless to say this didnt make a dent at all and the dang thing is filled.
What I need help with is how to organize. I can get rid of stuff I just need help in how to organize what I have left.

Happy New Year everyone! :yay:

I have cleaned half of my desk off. Today, I tackle the rest of it. It is a huge desk.

I will be sitting with dd's and going through their paperwork to toss or save. Now that the semester is over, I can recycle some of my 8th grade dd's schoolwork.

I am in! We are in the process of finishing an addition on our house and will be in a disaster for a little while longer. Right now 5 of us are in 2 bedrooms and will be moving into 4 rooms. We have to all move into the new addition until the walls, flooring and trim are done in the existing home. Quite a nightmare, but will be worth it in the end!!!! I will have more storage space, but need to be organized and do it right!

I'm in - 50 things will be a cake walk in this house! To the CLOSETS!!!! Let's motivate each other. I did just donate 10 coats. But I won't count those. I will find a new 50 of somthings.

I did my reorganizing back before Thanksgiving. I cleaned out my closet, dresser and the kitchen. It took an entire Saturday, but I managed to fill up the garbage can, and haul off an Explorer-full load of stuff to Goodwill.

There is still a lot of work to do...i'd get rid of a lot of the Christmas stuff that I didn't use this year, but I chickened out at that and didn't feel like sorting through it.

I'm in! I'll have my 50 pretty fast. I wish I had gone through my Christmas stuff...I might drag some boxes back out that I know need going through.

This thread will be a huge help for me. :)

Count me in! I just spent the last 3 days completely organizing all my Christmas stuff. I have an inventory on my computer of what is in each box and with any luck that will make it a whole lot easier to decorate and undecorate next year.

I made my New Year's To Do list and most everything starts with either "clean" or "organize" so I have a lot of places to clean out

I keep a box or laundry basket in an unused room that I dump in anything for Freecycle or Goodwill. I usually list it on Freecycle first and if no one wants it then it goes to Goodwill. It really helps that they put in a Goodwill very close to us. I am in the process of filling that basket now.

Just want to mention Flylady.com in case anyone wants some daily inspiration with organizing and cleaning.

It took me less than 5 minutes to come up with 25 books to get rid of. And that was just the cookbooks & DIY books. :thumbsup2

I'm totally in! One of my resolutions is to get more organized. Fifty things shouldn't be hard at all especially once I tackle my desk area and closet :scared1:

Count me in! I"ve been busy the past few days. I have two bags from my closet ready for goodwill. I also bought one of those Cubilcle things and replaced our old DVD holder. I may have created more of a mess but it looks better. I need to tackle the junk room.

I am in.... i just need to do it while dh is not home! He is such a pack rat!! He keeps old boxes.... just in case we move in the attic! :headache:

Oh Tina, I SO HEAR YOU on this one! :lmao:

I'm in! I just did the kitchen and got rid of a ton of stuff in the cabinets and the pantry, well over 50!

Does dinner made for the purpose of using up things from the pantry, fridge & freezer count? Because I completely used up 6 items that otherwise may have been tossed. :thumbsup2
