Let us take a boat to DTD??

The night we get in before our land/sea pkg. begins, we're going to just stay at POR. The same hotel we will stay at for the next four days, just want to begin early. Our ticket won't allow us to go into parks until the next day. Do they allow us to take the boat to downtown Disney even though we don't have our ticket? We've never been there, so not sure how it works.
Thought this would be a good night to do that so we can concentrate on the parks the other days.

According to Disney anyone can board the POR or OKW boat to DTD, you don't even have to be a resort guest.

It is such a nice ride too. No one asked to see any tickets when we rode last May. We did not go to any parks on our last day, just DTD. We used the wheelchair that the resort lent to us for our stay as well. Have a great trip!

That's exactly what we do on the night before our package starts. It's a great way to spend an evening, and the boat ride is wonderful. Try to go at dusk...it's very pretty.
