Let the (Soaken Wet) Memories Begin TR- Update 12/8

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'll be thinking about you and your family now and on your surgery day, too! Hope they can find out what's wrong. :goodvibes

Princess day looks like it was a blast! Dinner at 1900 PF looks like so much fun! I would have loved to have been in the restaurant that night! :lmao:

Woohoo for extra days! Can't wait to see how you spent them!

My sympathies for your grandmother.

Wow! Talk about AMAZING character interaction! Those beautiful dresses sure do pay off!!

Still here and enjoyed your new updates. Awesome interactions at the character meal!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. And I hope your surgery goes well.

Good luck with the drs. I was thinking about you this weekend. Let me know if you need anything.

Poor Aisling not able to eat! Sounds like she had a wonderful time with the Tremaines though! :thumbsup2

I'm still here as well!! popcorn::

Two princess meals in one day is a little girls' dream!!

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing and on Thanksgiving Day at that. :sad2:

Thank you very much! It was a fun meal day. Like I mentioned...Aisling isn't really into the Princesses much anymore but get her in a character meal and she eats up the interaction

Thank you! Oh it would have been a great night to be there. We were in the little room in the back and our entire room was dying laughing

The dresses do help for sure ;)

Thanks Jen...getting a little nervous. I hate anesthesia :sad2:

Home from the hospital...perfect time to do another update :thumbsup2

The 2nd Friday of our trip was another scheduled relaxing day...or at least the morning was. We had dinner ADRs and had discussed maybe visiting one of 2 parks in the afternoon before dinner but since we had extra days now, we scrapped those plans.

Instead, we had another fun day hanging by SAB. I actually wanted to do some swimming today so I left the camera upstairs. Did get a couple of pics on my cell phone though

It was purple day!

It's the little things that thrill me!

We had lunch at the resort today. I had wanted ice cream for lunch again but Beaches and Cream doesn't serve No Way Joses to go ;) Again, just not thrilled by the selections at Hurricane Hannahs for lunch but grabbed some quick burgers. During lunch we were attacked by a family of ducks who REALLY wanted our fries. They were super annoying to Randy and I but Aisling had a COMPLETE meltdown. Even after they were gone, she continued. So she got put in time out and told to lay down and rest her body. Apparently it's embarrassing to be in time out in Disney so she hid

IMAG0384.jpg

Luckily we didn't get that ice cream lunch because todays activity turned out to be "Make Your Own Ice Cream by the pool" Not a sundae. ICE CREAM. I'm thoroughly impressed that anyone in Florida would dream of making ice cream in Ziplock bags by a pool in AUGUST but they did it!!! I couldn't believe it worked!

After a nice relaxing day by the pool, we headed upstairs for naps and to head out for dinner at an old favorite.

We were heading to our favorite place on property....AKL for dinner at Boma. Our dinner reservation was at 7 so we decided to take a bus to AK and then the bus from there to AKL. Unfortunately I had totally forgotten that the park was closed!!!! We waited for the bus and the last bus for the night arrived to drop people back off at BCV. The bus driver saw us and informed us that the park was closed. :headache: However this bus driver was so nice and offered to drive us anyway. Because he went out of his way, I will forgive him for being one of those chatty drivers. This guy literally didn't stop talking the ENTIRE drive

We arrived at AK and the bus for AKL was literally pulling up so the driver dropped us off right at the other bus. Thank you chatty driver!

While we were waiting for the ECVs to load, I snapped a couple of pics of my wild girl

We got to the resort and walked around admiring the place. We missed it so! We were a little early for our ADR so Aisling walked around reading the information on the walls.

004.jpg

Finally it was dinner time. Oh I love Boma....aside from the paper straws ;)

005.jpg

006.jpg

Our waitress was really fun (although not remotely African which was a switch from the normal waitstaff). She gave Aisling this cool little card.

008.jpg

Don't worry LL....I took a light fixture picture for you

009.jpg

At the end of dinner, we split up! If you've read my previous TRs, you'll know that Randy has 2 friends who moved to Orlando. One has since moved again to Vegas but the other one is still in town so they had made plans to go to DTD for a drink somewhere. Aisling and I were going to head to EMHs at MK but she pronounced that she wasn't sure it was okay to go to a park without Daddy  Seriously child???? Can you tell which parent is most likely to spoil her. She had no problem going to Epcot with Randy alone earlier in the week. Anyway, she decided she wanted to think about it so we walked around the hotel and did some modeling while Randy went to wait for the DTD bus.

025.jpg

When Little Miss Thing finally made her decision, we headed outside and poor Randy was still waiting for a bus!!! (as an aside, he ended up waiting over an hour and then his friend decided he wanted to go to Jellyrolls instead!)

How did everything at the hospital go? I hope it went well.

Also what is that delicious looking red drink? It looks really good. If it's alcoholic, I hope they have it at Jiko when we go down in 7 days!! woohoo!

Well after much begging on my part, Aisling agreed to come with me to MK EMHs/girl bonding time :rotfl2:

031.jpg

We stopped for some truly horrible PP pics (PLEASE DISNEY TRAIN THESE PEOPLE!!!)

Photo0519FourBySix.jpg

We headed straight to Tomorrowland for Buzz but the FPs were gone for the night (EMHs hadn't started yet). So Aisling's next choice was CoP. The announcement this time only said no flash photography (every other time it said no photography so I think the kid screwed up but I used it to my advantage and snapped some pics)

033.jpg

034.jpg

Next up another relaxing one...People Mover!

035.jpg

Am I the only person who would love one of these???

038.jpg

A little Laugh Floor and then Aisling convinced me to do Stitch...which I haven't gone on since the year it opened. But hey, she did come with me ;) :rotfl:

040.jpg

By the time we finished all that, EMSs had started so we were able to go on Buzz

042.jpg

043.jpg

We hadn't done Fantasyland at all (other than Small World and Philharmagic) so we utilized the no lines of EMHs to bang out all the old school rides

The new Pooh stuff is really cute

045.jpg

In an effort to prove that I could be the fun parent once and awhile...I let Aisling get something that is NEVER allowed

048.jpg

OK, I should also mention that this was Day 8 and I realized we still had 25 snack credits so there was a further method to my madness (I also got us some drinks and some pretzels)

049.jpg

All that sugar didn't bring any luck with the sword ;)

050.jpg

A boatride back in time and we finished up Fantasyland

052.jpg

056.jpg

We continued on to do some more nighttime favorites

060.jpg

064.jpg

At this point there were only 5 mins left to EMHs so we decided to call it quits after POTC and head out. But then we realized that the Jungle Cruise was boarding one last boat so we jumped in. Very cool ride at night. They announced that we would be the last boat of the night and then we sat, and sat, and sat. The boat wouldn't get going. Now at any other theme park, they would have just asked us to exit the boat and go home. Not at Disney. They called managers over and everything to get that boat going. Now clearly at this point, it was WAAAAY past closing. But they let us stay and when the boat finally started, took us on a cruise. It was almost an hour after closing by the time we got out of the park. And my little lady was still wide awake (until we got on the bus of course ;))

Oddly, we stayed out as late as Randy at Jellyrolls. We got back only minutes before he did. And off to dreamland we went because we had another busy day ahead of us!

Hope all went well this morning!

I think I highlighted the right picture. WHAT IS THAT?!?!? That looks great! I hope it's the pic of your dinner!

Yes, that is my dinner from Boma. It was Mussels, Chicken, Fu Fu (which is sweet potato and regular mashed mixed together), an Indian rice, and I forget what the salad was but it was really good. They had BOTH of my favorite soups that night (Squash and Seafood) so I had both of those too

How did everything at the hospital go? I hope it went well.

Also what is that delicious looking red drink? It looks really good. If it's alcoholic, I hope they have it at Jiko when we go down in 7 days!! woohoo!

Everything went fine today. My blood pressure was through the roof because I hate being put under but I will tell anyone that Propofol is the best. None of the usual side effects of anesthesia. They said "goodnight Kristine", I remember I had a dream about one of my friends and then the nurse said "hi how are you feeling" and I was already wide awake. My biopsy results should be back next week but they didn't find anything scary other than it looks like I probably do have Celiac Disease. At least Disney is Celiac friendly ;)

I can't remember what the red drink is...but they will definitely have it at Jiko. They actually standardized the drink menu at WDW so you can get all the drinks at pretty much any restaurant now.

Disney is very Celiac friendly. My friend Erica who went with us one year had Celiac disease. They catered to her very well.

And that drink looks awesome. Ill have to figure out what it is. I broke my pinky finger yesterday and I opted on no painkillers. :scared1: So i've got a few alcoholic choices on my must drink list in a few days.

I hope you're healing well now that you're home! :goodvibes

Haha, love the picture of Aisling hiding at timeout. I was a very shy child (still am) so I would have probably done the same thing! :lmao:

After our gross Boma breakfast, I have had no desire to go back there, but I must admit that your plate of food looked really good! Maybe I'll give it a shot one of these days. :confused3

Did you have it set? I'll warn you that if you are flying and your figure is broken, it may really swell up on the plane. Ask for a cup of ice. Not that I would know this from experience at all ;) :rotfl2:

I think the drink was almost like an alcoholic Shirley Temple type thing. Just have a few Grey Goose Slushies and you won't be feeling any pain :thumbsup2

We have never done the Boma breakfast so I couldn't say but we have always gotten a great meal at dinner. One of the rare meals that I don't notice a decline in the quality since the DDP took off.

Well Ash isn't shy...she was being fresh. :sad2: It's one of those pics I'll show her husband some day ;)

It's in a splint because it's a hairline fracture. I originally thought it was just dislocated. And thank god we're not flying. We're driving.

Also, I think I found the name of the drink. But they also have one of my mom and I's favorite wine. It's called Goats do Rome. I have to find a new favorite drink though, since they screwed with House of Blue's mixed drink menu and my favorite isn't on there anymore. :(

How nice of that driver to take you directly to AKL!

Your food choices at Boma look delish! :thumbsup2

Aisling not able to go to MK without dad :lmao:

Ok help me out here, you are facing Main Street with the Castle behind you and all those people are behind you facing Main Street also. What in the world are they all looking at?!? Seems like they are all going to attack you at any moment :rotfl2:

You two got quite a bit accomplished at EMHs. How fantastic that you got a last cruise! Did you get any pics of the empty park that late? I would have used that to my advantage ;)

That was very nice of Disney to do everything possible to make sure you guys got one last ride on Jungle Cruise at the end of EMH. On my trip Jungle Cruise was closed during evening EMH.

I have no freaking idea how I missed so many updates. :rolleyes1 I just wanted to say I'm still here and getting caught up!

Totally didn't notice that all those people were staring at my behind until now :rotfl2: I think they were waiting for the parade.

I didn't take any pics of the park. I was thoroughly exhausted by that point and was starting to panic about missing the last bus. With the monorail breaking down twice in our trip, the bus service was kinda spotty and I had already blown a small forture on cabs during this trip. And the worse cab bill (as you know) is yet to come ;)

I was pleasantly surprised with the updated mixed drink menu on this trip. So many more options. I don't drink wine or beer so I like it when they have a lot of yummy mixed drinks ;)

I don't remember it being open during evening EMHs before either. It was one of those things that make Disney...Disney :thumbsup2

Two words: Pregnancy brain :rotfl2:

Sooo true. I had even been thinking to myself this week that it had been a long time since you updated.

We had some people over last night and you know when you have things to add to a conversation but you wait until they finish speaking? Well by the time they were done I had no flipping clue what I was going to say. Pffft to pregnancy brain. :lmao:
