Let the (Soaken Wet) Memories Begin TR- Update 12/8

Great TR so far!! :) We have our first trip to Disney in about a week, so reading these TRs is getting me very excited!! I cannot wait to read more.

Cheers!
Rachel

Aisling is simply gorgeous! She is a real trooper to be able to get up at 4:30, swim, and go to the MK. Can't wiat for the next update.

Subbing!

So weird how it was very rainy for you guys at MK on the 19th, but it was barely drizzling at POP and Downtown Disney for us!

Is that always the way? One day a friend who was down at the same time as us posted a sunny pic taken at her hotel on FB while we were in a park...with more ponchos

The 27th it POURED and was windy and nasty at Epcot and my friend was over at MK and then the GF and it was barely sprinkling..

This happens a LOT at WDW. People forgot that it's 47 square miles. At home it might be raining in your town and not raining 40 miles away but somehow, at least for me, I always forget and assume the weather is the same throughout the Kingdom

It looks like you managed to have some fun at MK, even with the rain and lack of sleep. I've never ridden on those rocket things either. I'm always afraid the spinning will make me sick for the rest of the day (it probably would).

I also have a pet peeve about little kids taking up seats while older people stand- especially when their parents have a perfectly good lap for them to sit in. When my kids do sit in a seat, I make them cram onto one seat unless there are plenty of seats for everyone.

Well we know our kiddos are being raised right I guess :flower3:

We love Cape May for dinner too (and breakfast). It's really become a favorite of ours. :thumbsup2 Love Aisling's outfit for the night!

I can't believe that you guys made it to MK at all after being up so early! I would have needed a serious nap by then! :lmao: That poncho picture reminds me of one of our nights in MK. ;)

I really needed a nap...I'm not going to lie!

What a great first day!!! (Well except the wallet and storm)...you really did alot!!! :goodvibes

We did!

:welcome: First trip???? Oh I'm so excited for you!!!

Thank you very much! She is a trooper (when it comes to WDW anyway ;))

I thought I had replied to this latest update. Bah. Guess not! :rotfl2:

I like the Laugh Floor but I sit there in fear that they are going to put me up on the screen and I don't like the idea of that! :scared1:

Well after a very long Day 1...clearly day 2 needed to begin with NO ALARMS. We all slept in a bit, had a little breakfast, and headed back to MK...after we got Aisling motivated to leave the couch

Our luck with the bus yesterday did not ring true for today. There was a wait. Aisling entertained herself playing games.

178.jpg

When we arrived at MK at about 10, it was busy...not bad but busy. So we decided to send Randy ahead to get Space Mountain FPs. Aisling and I noticed there was only a 15 minute wait for Mickey so we hopped in the line. Aisling doubled checked the Mobile Magic app to see if the wait times were accurate

179.jpg

We were in to see Mickey quickly and the PP guy offered to use my camera to take a pic of all of us which was nice.

We came out and Aisling's spending money started burning a hole in her pocket so she started checking out pins

190.jpg

Randy kept calling that he was waiting with the FPs up next to the Plaza so we figured we better get moving. We did stop for a second to hear the Dapper Dans

195.jpg

We found Randy and he informed us that Space Mountain was only a 15 minute standby. So off we went to Tomorrowland. Because of the short wait time, we were eligible to get another set of FPs in only a half hour (and half that time was already gone waiting for Aisling and I ) so I decided to sit out Space Mountain and go get FPs for BTMRR or Splash.

I couldn't resist a little treat along the way

When I was crossing the bridge into Adventureland, I could see a small child all by himself up ahead. I was shocked that nobody was stopping to see if he was ok. I got up to him and realized that he was sobbing. I asked if he was lost and he was. He told me his name and that he was 3. He said that he was with his dad. Another women saw me with him and offered to go get a CM to help. In the meantime, his "dad" came back. Guy didn't say thank you for helping his child and didn't seem very surprised that the kid had wandered off. AHHHHH I love when I see such wonderful examples of parenting at WDW (insert sarcasm here)

After that I decided to stop and have a little mommy time and watch Capt Jack while I had my snack

I got the FPs after the show and then headed into Liberty Square. You may have noticed that Aisling was sporting a HM custom today and I wanted to make sure to get pics at the ride before we got too dirty/sweaty. I tried calling Randy but there was no answer. So I sat in Liberty Square....and sat. And had such a good time. I really could do this all day. The number of people who stood in front of Columbia Harbour House saying they couldn't find the HM was staggering LOL!

Finally Randy called back and said he was on his way. So I people watched some more waiting. Turns out they had ridden SM twice and had gone on Stitch. But now it was time for one of mom's favorites :cheer2:

Have I mentioned I love the HM? And I love trying to get low light pics. Got a few!

While we were in HM, we got a text that a certain DISer had arrived at MK and was waiting outside HM for us! So we were off to meet a new friend :yay:

I like the Laugh Floor but I sit there in fear that they are going to put me up on the screen and I don't like the idea of that! :scared1:

And we've done it so many times that all 3 of us have been picked :rotfl2:

Thought I would throw out a real time update here too! First Aisling lost 2 teeth this week (two nights in a row) so she had a toothless grin again. The other big update was that we were FINALLY able to cut her hair for Locks of Love. I did a big update on FB with the whole actual haircut but since you can see in my TR how long her hair was...thought I would just show you some pics of her I took today- minus 13 inches :thumbsup2

I love love love Aisling's new hairdo. She looks so adorable. :thumbsup2

I still really like her HM skirt, I want one for myself. I think I could rock it quite nicely.

You took some great HM pictures and I really can't wait to see that new queue.

I so wish I could have spent today people watching in Liberty Square. :cloud9:

It IS a fabulous skirt! The new queue area is fun. Only necessary once because it makes the line longer. Later in the week, we skipped it. There is a pretty cool book at the end that you would probably enjoy

DId you ever get the FB message I sent you while I was sitting there that said i was checking our our new neighbors???

Yes! I did get it and I'm ready to move when you are!! Cream Cheese pretzels for breakfast everyday! Just a quick walk away. We will have to make some hats first though.

Love the update! A 15 minute wait for Mickey?! That almost never happens! Sounds like you guys had a pretty productive morning! Can I just say that sitting alone, taking in the sights of MK sounds heavenly!!! I know I already said it, but I LOVED the HM set!!!! Livy was looking at pictures with me and said it was so amazing and Aisling looks like a HM princess (whatever that is...?). Hmm, I wonder who you were meeting up with?

Great pics of HM. Can;t believe that guy was so low key about his child being missing. We found a little guy in March who was seperated from his G"Pa, when reunited G'Pa had tears and was thanking us endlessly. Aisling's new hair is so cute-what a great thing to do!

I am still majorly impressed that you guys made it to EMHs that night after so little sleep! :thumbsup2

We've still never done Laugh Floor nor the Astro Orbiter. We have to leave something for next time right?! ;)

I'm glad you got to see the new HM queue. I'm an idiot and missed it on the last trip.

People watching is the BEST!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Love love Ash's new do. She looks so grown up!

Ugh, how can the dad not even say "thank you"?! Rude!

Otherwise, looks like a great morning!

Great pictures of the Haunted Mansion.

Aisling new hairdo is wonderful. She looks so much older. What a great thing for her do.

No problem...I think I have the pattern somewhere :rotfl2:

It was a really fun time. Aisling doesn't allow for people watching very often so I truly enjoyed my "time off"

HM Princess huh??? :rotfl:

It was pretty shocking. I would have been out of my mind!!!

Thanks about Aisling's hair :flower3:

If you are a Disney veteran and "know" where you are going, I think it would be easy to accidentally skip the new Haunted Mansion queue area. We went back later in the week and the line was INSANE so we skipped it but we were telling the newbies to go try it out.

Ugh, how can the dad not even say "thank you"?! Rude!

Otherwise, looks like a great morning!

It was really weird. And ok, so you are rude and don't say thanks...fine. But not to be worried about your kid??????

Great pictures of the Haunted Mansion.

Thank you!!!! :flower3: Aisling does look a LOT older. She made it through half of dance class last week before her teacher recognized her (and this is her 6th year with her!)

I hate that when I don't get on the DIS for a while, I stop getting updates. Bummer. I am now caught up. LOVE the low light pics! Very cool. And I love Ash's HM dress. Too cute and creative :) Oh how I love BC. I wish I was staying there this time:sad2:

Howdy! I have two updates to catch up on!

I can't believe all of the rain! Good job on the ponchos! :thumbsup2 It cracks me up when I see people that are completely unprepared. That stinks about the Laugh Floor wait time! I swear they only count the time in the outdoor queue and not the twelve years you wait in the hallway before entering. In six trips, we've never done Astro Orbiter either! I can't believe Ash didn't make into the EMH's - she is always raring to go!

Sounds like a nice sleep-in AM but still to the MK early enough to get stuff done. I have got to try a cream cheese pretzel next time! Love that you got to spend some time strolling/observing! I agree with you - how could that parent not be worried - especially with it being a 3 year old!

I already said this on FB but love Ash's hair! :thumbsup2 Looks great and so grown-up!

I'm late but I'm along for the TR. So far it's great. Minus the wallet missing and rain. But i've lost my wallet before too, ended up in tears. That and the rain, I would take over the cold we had on our last family trip. It was soooo cold (19 degrees) in December 2010. My mom and I love sitting in Liberty Square at the rocking chairs and people watching. Especially the foreign tourists.
