Let the Prom Drama CONTINUE . . . . . . . .

Congratulations on the scholarship, Melissa!!! :yay: That's wonderful news.

Like you, we're waiting for the calm before the snowstorm. Although to look out the window, you would never guess that it's coming.

Stay away from the sickness!!!

Sheila, aren't you on Spring Break this week? I hope you're enjoying yourself. :goodvibes

I am, and the weather has been beautiful! :thumbsup2

It would not be spring break around here if it didn't snow at least once! Looks like the bunny will once again be hiding all the eggs in the house.
Maybe I'm odd, but I LIKE it when the Easter Bunny hides stuff in the house instead of having to traipse outside. It's much easier on the Bunny!!! :rotfl2: Plus, it keeps Tundra out of the chocolate!!

Agnes, good to see you back with us!!!!! :wave2:

Glad that you're enjoying your break, Sheila. :thumbsup2

Years ago when DD was little we had a dog named Beau. I happened to glance out the window when DH was hiding eggs in the yard (and not paying attention  ). Beau was going around behind him (a discreet distance behind :rolleyes1 ), uncovering the eggs, and eating them... Boy, would DH have been surprised when DD couldn't find any eggs! :rotfl2:

I am enjoying my break but started my own class this week. I'm not certified as a librarian, so I'm going to have to complete 7 courses to get my certification (21 hours). Fortunately, they are all online, and the school district is paying for them (I'd say that's the least he could do, hmmmm?). When I finished my master's degree, I really didn't intend to take any more classes. Guess I was wrong, huh? I'll be done about this time next year.

I know what you mean about finishing your education. I swore than after I took that Colorado Bar Exam, I didn't care what happened down the road - I was NEVER taking one again. And I haven't had to in 23 years, although in my "maturing years" I have learned to "Never say Never".

Well, have fun with your classes. I'm glad that the district is paying for them. Would have been really wrong if they hadn't!!

Technically, he could have put be back in the classroom (which was what he had in mind until I asked for the vacant library position). My master's is not in administration, but I've functioned as an administrator for many years due to my job performance. So far, this class has been very informative, and I'm really glad that it happened to be the first one I took (they're offered on a rotating schedule, so you can start at any point).

Have a good evening!

Good Morning - did we all have a long weekend?;)

I was in a COBRA seminar all day Friday (Yippe, that was fun-NOT) but the food was decent it came with breakfast and lunch.

Saturday I went to a "Cabi" party at a friends. Expensive clothing IMO and I didn't like most of it. I guess I am classic and not all that stylish. I played bar tender and had a good time.

DD has the nasty cold so I stayed home with her yesterday and just let her sleep, which she did until well past noon.

Cat update:

Simon the Fat Cat:
After dropping $250 at the vet it was determined that he does not have any issues with his kidneys or diabetes. He does have some sort of auto-immune bug. The steroids and antibiotics seem to be doing the trick as he is eating and drinking much like his usual self. He is also getting harder to shove the pills down his throat since he is feeling better he has more strength. He has a follow up on Saturday, the vet said she is going to give him another steroid shot for good measure.

Deck'ster:
I'm thinking Deck'ster is a she and she is in heat:scared1: She has been howling and meowing and trying to get my 2 fixed male kittys to pay attention. They have been rather obscene;) She has gone outside and been gone overnight a couple of times in the past week which is unusual for her. We have kept her in the house since Sunday and are going to try and get her in to be fixed tomorrow. Wednesday is the "Free Feral" day at the animal shelter in town. We have a trap, now we just have to try and trap her.

Pets & Easter:

Sandy, I agree with you. Living in a colder climate we have never had an outdoor egg hunt. It is way to cold for the bunny to go outside and hide the eggs to say nothing of several years of having snow on the ground.

I was laughing at your dog stories - we had a cat for many years, his name was Charlie and Easter was his favorite holiday. He loved the plastic eggs. He would "find" several after the bunny left and we were all in bed. We would get up to find candy & treats strewn everywhere and a very happy kitty chasing his plastic eggs. DH and I would have to get up extra early to rehide them. He would then stalk the kid's baskets for the eggs. We always left a few out year round for him, they were his favorite toy.

How is everyone:

Sheila:
How is your FIL doing?
How is your class coming along?
Has anyone poisoned the idiot yet?

Sandy:
Any new Prom prospects out there?
How is LaCross going?

Agnes:
How is your DD?

Pam:
Well???? Any college news yet?

I've got to get back to work (of course that implies that I started working:lmao: )
You all have a great day

I know the food always helps. How about door prizes? When I do my professional development sessions, I try to do both. One of my sessions in June will be on Microsoft 2007 (3 days), and I'm giving them a new flash drive each (in addition to lunch, door prizes, and maybe a t-shirt, if I can work out some donations).

Do you remember my cat that I talked about who had to have have of the pad on her front paw removed? That was also due to auto-immune issues. She also had a bad place in her mouth, but it improved. She had to have a monthly shot for a little while (2 or 3 months) but has been much better since then (I still check her from time to time just to be sure her feet and mouth are okay though).

FIL was admitted to the psych ward at the VA on Friday. They had to go get him on Sunday, because the psych ward wouldn't let him have his oxygen because their policy is not to allow anything that a patient might harm themselves with (like the oxygen tubing). I asked DH, "So they're going to let him die to keep him from killing himself?" :confused3 He's definitely NOT a candidate for suicide, but I understand their reasoning. However, his sister (who is a nurse) felt like she had to bring him home. Not sure where they'll go from here (DH was too frustrated over the whole situation to call last night).

Class is going well. So far, I've got a 100 average! :rotfl2:

No poisoning, but when I walked through the office this morning, it looked to me like it might come anytime... :rolleyes1

You all have a great day

You too! :thumbsup2

ETA: By the way, I loved your story about the payroll account. I did that in my personal account one time (fortunately, the bank took pity on me instead of making me pay all those fees!).

I'ts SPRING

No, no door prizes. There were little tins of mints and Hershey Chocolate bars with the sponsors "label" on them and of course pens and note pads. Nothing exciting
Hope she feels better soon!
Thank you, she's getting there, we are at the coughing and walking snot phase:lmao:

What is this auto-immune stuff, some sort of leprosy???:scared: The vet did say she would give him a steroid injection this weekend and that she would probably follow up with one or 2 more over the next couple of months. He seems to be back to his normal self and the red/raw spot on his tongue looks like it has healed up.
Definitely hopes that goes well too!
Slight change of plans, we learned the county does the spay/neuter services on Wed and Fridays, due to our usual hectic schedules we are shooting for tomorrow. We are going to try and get Deck'ster into the trap tonight.
FIL was admitted to the psych ward at the VA on Friday. They had to go get him on Sunday.
How is that going? I know exactly how your DH feels, the frustration can get overwhelming. You have to come to a place where you realize that you have done what you can, you will be available if your assistance is needed but there is nothing else you can do.
Class is going well. So far, I've got a 100 average! :rotfl2:

Does he have any idea how unpopular he is? Is he starting to exhibit signs of paranoia????
ETA: By the way, I loved your story about the payroll account. I did that in my personal account one time (fortunately, the bank took pity on me instead of making me pay all those fees!).
Yeah, that was a good one,:guilty: we were in WDW and my boss calls in a panic (she doesn't understand accounting at all) she couldn't figure out why the accounts were so off (she didn't catch that the transfers were backwards:rolleyes: )
When we were interviewing banks last summer, I used that scenario to see how the prospective banks would have handled that situation, their answer was a big part of who got our business.

Kinda quiet around here this week. Weather is slowly warming. DD wants an easter dress so we are going shopping tonight. We will be headed to my Aunts house about an hour south of us for dinner on Sunday. Cat goes to the vet on Saturday and I have some "Bunny" shopping to get done.

DS informed me last night that "for the 1st time since 3rd grade, he will have straight A's on this quarters report card". I had to laugh - he has 4 classes, none of them AP and one is Aide! He better have A's!

Sandy:
Hope all is well. Are you out on Spring Break? I know you said something about a tournament in Denver.
We are starting to have bear sightings here - has your trash been sorted through yet?
It's Spring, doesn't that mean that Tundra gets a bath:rotfl2:

Well ladies, I need to get back to work - hope all is well.

Good morning, all!! :goodvibes Things are kinda nuts here with work, lacrosse, and life in general.

No, Tundra hasn't yet had to have a bath, but you never know when it's coming . . . :rotfl:

Went to Denver for a lacrosse game on Tuesday (we won 8-2), went out for drinks with friends from work yesterday evening, and I have to work the concession stand for the boys' JV game tonight before the varsity game, which follows. Tomorrow I get a manicure and a pedicure (yay!!!). Saturday we are all going skiing as a family to Vail. Sunday, the Easter Bunny makes his appearance here at home, and then I'm collapsing.

I'm off work next week for Spring Break. We're home Monday and Tuesday, and heading to Grand Junction on Wednesday. We'll be there through Saturday mid-day, and then drive home later that day. DD will be on Spring Break as well during that time, and I think she's going to Grand Junction with us, which will be nice. I made sure that we had enough beds in the room just in case she DID decide to join us.

Sorry that your DD is sick, Melissa. I hope she's on the mend now. How is DS's golf team season going? Good luck with trapping Deck'ster!! :thumbsup2

Sheila, we knew you were smart, but a 100% average?!?! Whoa - you're REALLY smart!!! I'm sorry about your FIL - these things are never easy to deal with, are they?

No bear sightings as of yet. Still a little early, although the weather has been warmer, so I guess you never know. The earliest we usually see them is June. They spend the late spring up in the mountains feasting off of the berry crop.

On the aquarium front - we got impatient and couldn't wait until after Spring Break to introduce fishes. We have 6 little damselfishes (blue green chromis). They are SO cute to watch. The tank seems to be healthy and doing well, so that's good. We're going to start adding corals and more fish when we return from Grand Junction. Thus far, it's been a really fun hobby.

Gotta run (stupid work gets in the way). Talk to you later!!! Have a great day. :woohoo:

Good morning, all!! :goodvibes Things are kinda nuts here with work, lacrosse, and life in general.
I forgot that your Spring LaCrosse season is a lot like my fall football season, right down to the snack bar duty! Hang in there, sport supporting parenting duties are almost done, retirement is only a couple of months away  :sad1:
No, Tundra hasn't yet had to have a bath, but you never know when it's coming . . . :rotfl:
I was curious with Spring Cleaning and all:lmao:
Tomorrow I get a manicure and a pedicure (yay!!!). Saturday we are all going skiing as a family to Vail. Sunday, the Easter Bunny makes his appearance here at home, and then I'm collapsing.
I am sooooo jealous - I need a pedicure so bad, winter feet are just gross! Have fun skiing and having your family all in one place.

Where is Grand Junction in relation to you? Just curious. Good luck on that tournament. It's really nice that your DD's spring break coincides with your DS's. I guess for next year and into future years, UNR & the community college have coordinated their breaks to coincide with our school district so at least my DS and DD will have similar Winter & Spring breaks.
How is DS's golf team season going?
At the last minute he decided the golf coach is a moron(he is;) actually he is just really young and knows baseball not golf but it was the only sport that needed a coach!) DS decided he didn't want to join the team and deal with Coach's last minute urgent must do now type of issues since the guy is not a good communicator. With DS now having to juggle his job schedule, he just didn't want to deal with Coach. He also has decided that he wants to try and walk on to the UNR football team. That should be interesting, Coach Ault is famous for not recruiting or walking on local players. :headache: Not sure why, just his way and the UNR Boosters are starting to really get on him about it, but he is stubborn. (Local Players attract fans, UNR struggles with attendance) It's his way or no way. Anyway, I digress, so DS (who is out of shape and has put on his winter layer of flab) wants to try out. :rolleyes1 We shall see, I'm not holding my breath. Meanwhile he goes and plays golf with the team he just is not an "official" part of the team and doesn't go to the tournaments.

I guess they have already started trouble up in Tahoe so I was curious.

I forgot to ask how it was going:guilty: oops. Sounds like it is coming along nicely, you need to post pictures

One of these days I need to figure out how to post pictures,:confused3 I am so technically challenged:confused:

Gotta run (stupid work gets in the way).
Don't you just hate that;)

Sandy:
Have a safe trip and enjoy your family time

Sheila:
Happy Easter

Agnes & Pam:
Happy Easter

I must get back to work. DS is here - wants to go to lunch:rolleyes: which means he wants Mom to buy!
Well ladies - have a great weekend and Hoppy Easter

:surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb: I'm bored...................
Hope you all are having fun - everyone on vacation means I actually get work done. Sucks to be me;)

Hope you all are having a good week

It can really be bad stuff. Ours have struggled with it since they were born (we had a mama cat materialize out of nowhere and have 6 kittens of which 5 lived). Star has it much worse than the others though. Fortunately, her feet have done much better (they used to split wide open, it was awful). She had pretty much what your vet is suggesting (a shot per month for 2 or 3 months). That's been about a year ago.

Right after you posted about Simon, I noticed her drooling really bad. I checked her mouth, and she had had another flare up. I went and got her a shot of DepoMedrol, and she's doing better now. This is the first time we've had to re-treat her since then.

I'm not sure how things work with your vet, but it's sure a lot cheaper to be able to go get a shot when you have a flare up instead of paying vet charges. It's not hard to administer the shot (although it takes two of us ;) ). Our vet said for one of us to grasp her behind the neck and very gently shake her back and forth while the other ones quickly gives her the shot in her hip muscle. The shaking distracts her and makes her a much better patient! :rotfl2:

Either doesn't know or doesn't care. And I've heard that he's planning on recommending that woman from Memphis to the school board again at the April board meeting. Maybe he thinks the third time will be the charm. :confused3

I got a phone call this morning, and DD and DFi are seriously considering getting married in June 2009 instead of May 2010. They wanted to know how we felt about it. My main objection was the fact that she has to be in Jackson for a year. Their point was that she's actually only going to be in Jackson for 13-14 weeks in the fall and then 13-14 weeks in the Spring (with more than a month off in between). If they get married the first of June, she won't leave until the end of August, and when he goes down there on weekends, he won't have to worry about paying for a hotel room.

On the one hand, I've told them that it will be harder on them this way. I know he's going to want to go down there every weekend and that could effect her studying. But on the other hand, I have to be honest and say that she's not one to allow anything to interfere with her studying (which is why she has a 4.0), and as well as she's done so far, I suspect she can handle it. She is one of the most focused people I know. And, the truth is, we actually know other people who have done the same thing and did fine.

So, I'm going back and forth. In some ways, I can see where they have a point. I'm supposed to call the lady at the venue where she's having the wedding and see what dates she has available for the timeframe they want. I guess I'll do that and go from there. ;)

Thanks for the info, I mentioned this to DH and he turned kinda green:lmao: My Vet is very reasonable, she charges a $25 office fee for the first visit and there are no charges for follow up unless there are services involved. I took Simon in on Saturday and she said he was looking 100% better. She is keeping him on an oral Predazone (sp?) pill twice a week for the next 2 weeks and then once a week for the 2 weeks after that and he will go back in for another re-check unless of course he gets worse. If this becomes chronic, I will investigate the shot.
Either doesn't know or doesn't care. And I've heard that he's planning on recommending that woman from Memphis to the school board again at the April board meeting. Maybe he thinks the third time will be the charm. :confused3
Gheese, which part of no does this guy not understand
That's exactly how he feels.
If he is anything like me, he will vacillate between being "okay" with it and feeling guilty, it stinks. As soon as DH turns 60, I'm buying long term care insurance, I have certainly learned my lesson and I refuse to do to my kids what my Mother has done to me. Dad is probably going to be on her own:rolleyes1
Hey, he's like me, I'll take them where I can get them! :rotfl2:
So will I:lmao: GF also pulled off straight A's and she has a full class load. They have already hit me up for a chicken wings pool playing night (reward for grades) at their favorite restaurant. I told them I had to have the proof in my hands:lmao: We will probably take them next weekend.

Aha, it's because you bought the dress;) what did the venue have to say????
From what you have said about your DD, she has her mind set on her education and it doesn't sound like much will get in her way.
Will being married really change things, other than living arrangements? Is/will he done with school?

We went off to the Charter School again this weekend, we missed the presentation last time. As of Friday (today is the cut off for applications) the 4th & 5th grades still have openings, all other grades are going to a lottery system to fill the classes. The lottery is tomorrow. We are hoping and praying that the 4th grade doesn't fill and that she gets in. Her best friend has also put in an application, so we are sitting here with our fingers crossed. The administrator gave a very boring, monotone presentation but he got my attention with one point. They are a public school so they cannot deny access to anyone, however, because they are a charter school they do not have to lower their standards for students who can't/won't/don't keep up. They will not lower their standards, oh I hope she gets in!

Sheila, I thought of you the other night. DS called home to ask if he could be late. GF's horse had developed colic. The vet had come out and pumped him full of fluids/lubricants and they were all on poo watch. (Horse seems to have fully recovered) I guess according to DS, they have had the horse about a year and the guy that sold them the horse told them he was 12/13 when the vet looked him over vet said he was 24/25 which according to DS who is now some sort of expert:rolleyes: means he should have been eating a different form of hay/alfalfa. Also, the family had been gone over the weekend and one of the neighbors had been feeding the horses. When they returned they knew the neighbor had overfed just by the missing feed.

Sandy:
How was the tournament?
How is the fish tank coming along?
Can you see the top of your desk????????:rotfl: You play, you pay...it stinks!

Not much else going on, I got DS's Graduation Announcements the other day boohoo. I am trying to figure out if "announcement" means "consider yourself invited" I am thinking I won't mail my Dad's until the day of the graduation:rolleyes1 . There is no limit on attendance at graduation, but I don't necessarily want all the people I am sending announcements to think they are expected to attend........kind of a quandary, the wording on the announcement is generic. Any advice???????

Have a great day ladies!

I have no idea. This batch of cats (:rotfl2: ) is the first I've ever dealt with it. Fortunately, we've been able to manage it pretty well (although I do need to go back and check her mouth again - I've had bronchitis for most of the last week and haven't done much of anything).

Thanks for the info, I mentioned this to DH and he turned kinda green:lmao: My Vet is very reasonable, she charges a $25 office fee for the first visit and there are no charges for follow up unless there are services involved.

That's very reasonable! We're fortunate that our vets like us (horseshowed together) and feel sorry for us (all the strays we've taken in). They really help us out when they figure the bill.

The oral probably works as well as the injection, but with this particular cat, I'll go with the shot (she's a little jumpy)! :thumbsup2

Gheese, which part of no does this guy not understand

I talked to a teacher this weekend who was really upset. She had requested some desparately needed classroom supplies and was told "there was no money". Then Thursday night (for the State of the School meeting  ), he had charter buses bring two large groups of students from Memphis City Schools to perform (one an orchestra and one a dance team). He paid all of their expenses, fed them, and generally catered to them, but she couldn't get supplies for her classroom. :sad2: She was not a happy woman.

If he is anything like me, he will vacillate between being "okay" with it and feeling guilty, it stinks.

I think that covers it.

So will I:lmao: GF also pulled off straight A's and she has a full class load. They have already hit me up for a chicken wings pool playing night (reward for grades) at their favorite restaurant. I told them I had to have the proof in my hands:lmao: We will probably take them next weekend.

Sounds great! :thumbsup2

Aha, it's because you bought the dress;) what did the venue have to say????
From what you have said about your DD, she has her mind set on her education and it doesn't sound like much will get in her way.
Will being married really change things, other than living arrangements? Is/will he done with school?

Looks like the date is June 6, 2009. We go tomorrow to finalize the arrangements (and pay the one-third deposit :scared: ).

He's employed as a teacher and working on his master's degree. His parents gave them a choice of two houses to pick from (they own the houses and rent them out but said they can live there rent free). They picked the less expensive of the two (didn't want to take advantage of his parents' generosity). The house isn't spectacular, but it's a lot better than we had when we got married. Some paint and elbow grease will improve it a lot. It's just down the road from his parents in a nice quiet rural area.

I hope so too! :thumbsup2 It sounds like this could be a great fit for her. I've always wanted to open a charter school. Our state law allows it, but it's almost unheard of. I don't even know if there is one in the entire state.

Yep, we've dealt with colic ourselves before. We have one horse who has had colic twice. It's really painful for the horse.

And, yes, there's a big difference in a horse who is 12 and who is 24. The horse must have looked really good though for the seller to have pulled that off. Usually, horses that old start to look old (not always though - just like people).

And, yes, some people think they're being nice by giving the horse extra, but it can turn into a problem - as it did for them. Glad the horse is better though! :goodvibes

Not much else going on, I got DS's Graduation Announcements the other day boohoo.

Girl, I feel your pain! I'm struggling with this wedding date change. Two years out didn't bother me much, but only another year is throwing me into a tailspin. DH keeps saying that there won't be much difference than now, but "now" she comes home. In a year, this won't be "home". I may need a lot of support to get through this! :wizard:

Her roommate (my cousin's DD) has changed hers to May 30th of next year. The girls will live together in Jackson like they do now. Fortunately, the DFi's get along well.

I know what you're talking about, but we don't do "announcements" around here. The kids get graduation invitations. Technically, they are different, but I'm like you, not everybody may realize that. I guess you'd better check with somebody with more experience on that. :confused3

Happy Monday to you all!!! Yes, Melissa, my desk is stacked with work. But I wanted to check in for a minute before I get back to it. . .

Had a lot of fun at the lacrosse tournament in Grand Junction. It's all the way across the state from us, so it's a 4 hour drive without stops. The team went 3-1-1 and generally did well. DS played well most of the time and he was happy with his performance. No behavior incidents, which was also a good thing. One of the Denver teams stuffed 18 boys in an elevator at the La Quinta, jumped when it started moving, made the thing get stuck, and then damaged the door trying to pry it open halfway between floors. The fire department was called. Would NOT want to be those kids, parents, or coaches!!!

This week is nuts - we have lacrosse games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The fishies are well. We just added 2 cleaner shrimp and 2 corals yesterday. The cleaner shrimp actually "preen" the fishes and take parasites off them. That hasn't happened as of yet, but will be interesting to see.

Well, I promise to come back soon and write more, but I have so much work to do, I'd better dig in. "Talk" to you later, ladies!!!! :wizard:

Oh my goodness! And then the adults will want to be annyoed when they call hotels, and they aren't welcome. :sad2:

Good luck!

Sounds like it's taking shape! :thumbsup2

Welcome Back Sandy

Sheila, hope you are feeling better!

They really help us out when they figure the bill.
Our vet did the same thing when we found Baxter abandoned and he had a nasty infection, abscesses and needed to be neutered. They know who their good customers are and discount accordingly. When our cat Charlie died about 5 years ago, the vet had just loaded me up with over $100 worth of drugs that I had paid for. He died 3 days after I got the drugs, I "donated" them back to her practice.
The oral probably works as well as the injection, but with this particular cat, I'll go with the shot (she's a little jumpy)! :thumbsup2
if that were the case with Simon, I would go with the shot - fortunately, he is a big puddy cat ;)

He knows he is golden and untouchable. I guess the idiot has not given any consideration to his long term employment since it sounds like as soon as his term is up, he will have burnt just about every bridge there is! Plus spent the district out of money, between his showboating and spendy administrators:mad:

Don't stress, I am sure you will get some sort of an upgrade:lmao:

Free rent - heck, not a bad deal for a young couple.

This is one of the best ones in the state and outperforms most of the public schools in the area. It has been around for 9 years and has all it's required accreditations as well as a few that are not "required". We looked at it for DS in middle school but he was not interested in pursuing his academic career, he was all about his friends and the big middle school with lots of classes and opportunities. I guess the State has not allowed any new Charters to open recently due to budget issue. I think the fact that some make the regular schools look bad plays into it also;) , there are several not so good ones that get lots of media attention due to poor planning, financial issues etc. The location is about 12 miles from our house and will require a lot more carpooling. Her BFF's parents also put in an application, they are in the same grade and BFF's Mom works 2 blocks from the facility which could really help. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but.........................

Not sure how much "horse sense" GF's family has;)

Since we will all be done with Proms, this is perfect. We will just have to retitle our thread to something wedding related, I'm sure there will be plenty of drama even though the dress is already purchased!

We ordered them thru Jostens - everyone gets the same - we then add a name card, picture and party invite if applicable. I guess I didn't think about the announcement vs. invitation issue until I received them - it is not like there were several styles to choose from.

Happy Monday to you all!!! Yes, Melissa, my desk is stacked with work. But I wanted to check in for a minute before I get back to it. . .
Glad you are back!

Oh my, that is funny in a sick twisted sort of way. Very typical large group of kids type behavior. Just really glad it wasn't your kid or mine:rotfl2:

This week is nuts - we have lacrosse games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
:cheer2:

They can't perform if they are being watched:rotfl:

Great to hear from you - have fun digging out!

It really is hard to believe... :sad2:

Don't stress, I am sure you will get some sort of an upgrade:lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

No upgrades, I'm afraid, but the nice thing about this place is that they will handle everything for both the wedding and the reception (and I do mean everything from flowers to decorating to catering to serving to cleaning up). The only thing she doesn't handle are the favors.

Other than helping with the favors, I will have to do absolutely nothing but show up and leave. It's an old two story plantation style house with a gorgeous staircase for her to come down. The columns and porches outside will make for great pictures. They also have a small lake with a bridge over it. It's in a rural area, and they're going to have a horse drawn carriage to take them away.

Free rent - heck, not a bad deal for a young couple.

Very good deal, and very generous on their part. His parents have been wonderful to DD, and their son is a great guy.

We were eating lunch Sunday and discussing the apt. DD and her roommate are going to have to rent when they get to Jackson. I suggested that they get a 1 BR, and one of the them could take the bedroom, and the other one could turn the living room into a bedroom (since they won't be there long term) to save on rent.

DD said, "Mother, with both of us having husbands coming down to see us, we're going to want a bedroom with a door we can close if you get my point..." Poor DFi turned beat red, and DD laughed and laughed. She told him, "I'm pretty sure they know we're planning on having sex after we're married." DH looked at her and asked was it absolutely necessary? :rotfl2: I told them that we needed to change the subject! :scared: :rotfl2:

If it works out, it sounds like it will be well worth it, and it will make it so much easier if her BFF gets to go at the same time. It sounds like you've got a good shot at it. We'll keep our fingers crossed anyway!
