Keep us updated on your progress!

When I was little, some friend of the family had a Lion Fish and let us watch them feed it. I have never been the sameOMG I can still vividly remember it. I'm a freak, I know............

Dr. Dolittle, it's the whole circle of life thing or something along those linesOkay, that's it. NO LION FISH!![]()
(Remember, I'm the one who chased the cat who chased the squirrel...)

When I was a kid my Brother did something similar except there was a big dog chasing the cat who was chasing a gopher.......he tried to rescue the gopher, it bit himHe still hasn't gotten over the trauma of the Tetanus shot,
neither has my Aunt who we were visiting at the time. We were like 8 & 9, possibly younger and they both still laugh about it.
Your DD's bedroom sounds so pretty. I love the color scheme. It's bittersweet when they start "growing up". Our DD was never a "pink" kinda girl ever - she was always a tomboy, even when she was little. She insisted on wearing red clothes ONLY when she was 2. When she was 3, she would wear only dressses (not frilly ones; the ones I bought her were mainly from Land's End at the time) and when she turned 4, she discovered pants and she has rarely stopped wearing them, although as a young woman she likes to wear short skirts to show off those nice legs now (the ones I wish I could have back!)I spent all day yesterday painting and removing and re-wallpapering (border) DD's room. It is now 1/2 wall of lime green with a white border with blue, green and purple circles all over it. Then we added some "WallPops" circles in the blue, green and purple.....she is thrilled. I finally found a comforter with the right style and colors in the new JC Pennys Spring catalog. It will be here on Thursday and DD can't wait.
Gone is the bubble gum pink sponge paint and fairy tale wallpaper border that had an assortment of bears and other animals floating thru the air past the clouds and over the snow topped mountain peaks with the help of a handful of pastel colored balloons............![]()
Every muscle & ounce of flab in my body hurts, I (along with DD and DS's GF) stripped border, masked off the trim, brush and roller painted, put up new border etc.......Advil is my friend.
We took a break after the first coat of paint was on, DD went out on her bike and GF fell asleep on the couch, I was on my own! DH was on call for things like, stirring and pouring the paint, helping me put up the border, etc............... We don't do home improvement projects well together.:rolleyes I am a get it done kinda girl. I read the directions and go until I can't go another step. DH who is an Engineer does not read the directions, does not get things done in a timely fashion and has to constantly come up with a "better" way to do thingsPlus he has a little bit of A.D.D. and wanders off...........................drives me nuts!
I asked him to help me do the border and his response was "are you going to yell at me?" and my response was "Well, are you going to do it my way?" he said "No" and I said "Well then, yep I'll probably yell at you"I only snarled once, it actually went fairly smoothly.
Strangest thing happened while I was painting....I got what I thought was a cramp in my left hand (the fleshy area at the thumb) anyway, it hurt like heck and then it was hard as a rock and by last night it was black/blue. This morning I am typing with 1 hand. I must have twisted, turned something that broke a blood vessel. It is really ugly and really sore. Hummmm, someone else may need to cook tonight![]()
I heard this on the news, and I thought of you when I did. Her poor family. I saw her mom being interviewed last week, and the poor woman was beside herself with grief then. How scary to realize that she was so close to where you live and work.On a sad note, remember the missing college student I think I told you guys about? Brianna Denison. She was taken out of a friends house a little over a month ago and vanished without a trace. The whole community has been looking for her.
Sadly, her body was found on Friday- the weird thing is she was in an area that was heavily traveled by foot and car, where no one would have thought to look. My DH actually drives right by the field she was in every day as do thousands of other people. The search crews were covering all the outlying areas and here she was right under everyones noses. We are speculating that she was under all the snow that just recently melted. The cops still haven't caught the guy and this whole community is up in arms and the mood on the campus of UNR is one of fear.
We are hoping that the discovery of her body will lead to her killer, otherwise we have a serial rapist on the loose who is now a killer.
Must be the weekend for dances, although yours is much more formal and bigger than ours. Ours is called Snowball, and it's held in the school gym. DS has his red/black ensemble all ready - for once, I took it out of the package immediately and de-wrinkled it back then.Well, that is my update, only took me forever to type this. Big formal dance this weekend, the kids are finalizing their plans and DS's GF is very excited! Me, personally I am hoping DS wins the random scholarship for his school. He has something like a 1 out of 12 chance......fingers crossed.
Thank you, Sheila. We've been talking about doing this since November, but wanted to do some research and reading to figure out all that was involved. The shop that we're doing business with has a manager that's from Taiwan and he's very knowledgeable about all of this. His tanks are the largest and cleanest in town - we love to go in there and look at his reef setups and his beautiful fish.Glad you had a great birthday! I'm really envious about the saltwater tank. I've always LOVED fish tanks but have never had one. I can't wait to hear about the fish you decide on!![]()
You haven't said anything more about your "dear" superintendant lately. Are things in a holding pattern at the moment, or are you trying to exercise discretion so no one locally knows you're discussing this in a public forum with your internet friends? That's always a tough call, isn't it?
I know this restaurant; I've been there once before about 5 or 6 years ago. I live about 15 miles north of Colorado Springs, so this is all so very weird to see because of the closeness to home. I agree - thank goodness for the waiter!!!I saw this on the news this morning. It would have gotten my attention anyway but especially since Sandy lives in CO. http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_8304128
That is so scary! Thank goodness the waiter happened to see it. You have to wonder how many times this guy has done this sort of thing. And to see that he works in at the Colorado Mental Health Institute and guides group therapy sessions!![]()
I kinda figured that. We certainly don't want to hurt anyone, so I understand. We've got your back, though, girl!!!!!Most of what I'm getting now (and it's still fairly regular) is told to me in confidence, so I can't share it. It's one thing to get myself into trouble, but I can't take a chance on somebody else getting hurt (although it's not likely that anybody from around here is going to chance upon this, you never know for sure).

Sounds like you are getting good advice. How big will the tank be? Are you putting it somewhere where you can just sit and stare at it? Salt Water tanks are so tranquil and relaxing to me.Apparently, the shop owner has some sort of plan for what fish he thinks we should put in the tank, and he's talked to DH about it. This is really DH's "baby", so I'll defer to what he wants. Just as long as a clownfish and an anemone are eventually involved. . .![]()
Cudo's to the waiter who was paying attention! My cousin is a young adult who lives alone and loves to go out. She says the drink drugging is so common that the girls have learned to never ever under any circumstances leave a drink unattended. She will sit/stand with her hand over the top of her glass just out of habit and take her drink to the bathroom with her. The first time she took her drink to the potty at our house my DH was confusedThat is so scary! Thank goodness the waiter happened to see it. The tank is 145 gallons and the dimensions are approximately 4 feet wide, by 24 inches deep, and 28 inches high. It's a pretty large tank. It's in our family room, which is the main room just off the kitchen (open floor plan) where we watch tv and entertain (when we gather up enough energy to clean to have folks over!!Sounds like you are getting good advice. I lecture both of my kids about this. You can't be too careful!!!Cudo's to the waiter who was paying attention!

Unfortunately, I did see it. Not so great press for my kids' school. There were 10 pledges of Delta Chi fraternity in two hotel rooms. The place was absolutely trashed. Holes in walls; vomit and blood everywhere (blood?). There was also a pitcher filled with urine (yikes, what were they making them do with it - drink it?!?!Did you guys see the article about the CU Boulder Fraternity and motel room? I honestly didn't read it, I saw the headline and kinda chuckled......
Thanks, Melissa. I hope that your DS and his GF have a wonderful time at their dance as well.Sandy:
DS'S dance sounds like fun and they will be the sharpest looking couple there!
I didn't realize that you had an earthquake in Nevade. Man, talk about exciting! Sorry you missed it!!P.S. Earthquake was on the far Eastern side of NV. Didn't feel a thing.

Good riddens, you play you pay!Their national reps are here in Colorado and just pulled the local frat's charter. Bye, bye.

Oh you don't even know.I am a very calm, cool, collected controlling kind of person.
Not much rattles me.
That being said, earthquakes scare the crap out of me.I lose it, I panic and I become totally irrational. I once tried to run out of our apt. in Ca. naked during an aftershock, DH stopped me at the door with my robe. I have been thru one to many with several near misses from flying debris, falling cabinets, speakers etc, broken toilets/flooded house and not being able to get my car out of a parking garage to go get DS who was with a sitter during a quake in S. Calif. when he was a toddler. One "small" quake once moved my 4 door Honda Accord several inches sideways in our garage. When the Loma Prieta quake hit the SFO Bay Area in 1989, I was very pregnant with DS, I could not reach my Dad or Brother for 2 days (They lived in the Bay Area) my Brother was at that World Series game and my Dad was in a grocery store, for 2 days I had no clue if they were ok. No thanks!
I'm the only person on my block with earthquake insurance. My neighbors think it is an unnecessary expense (it doubles our homeowners insurance premiums) but I sleep better at night. See, the mere thought gets me all wound up!
My goodness. You have certainly had your share of earthquake experiences. No wonder you're a bit skittish about them - heck, I would be too!!Oh you don't even know.I am a very calm, cool, collected controlling kind of person.

I will post pictures of the aquarium when it's all set up and housing some fish. That is - if I can remember how!!
