Hi All,

Just wanted to post a sort of Intro thread as it is such a long time since I have been in this forum. I am Fi - aged 35 and will be travelling to Florida with my other half Mark who is 38. We have visited twice before in 2007 and 2011 and always stayed on I-Drive.

Here we are having a delightful time at SeaWorld in 2011:

Long story short we have had a very difficult few years - my dad died of liver cancer in 2012 and both my sister and I were diagnosed with breast cancer within 12 months of this. My sister passed away in May this year. I have had chemo and 5 different surgeries since my diagnosis and touch wood, am ok at the moment.

We have decided it is time to push the boat out and do something nice for a change - so have booked a rather extravagant 17 night trip to Florida in May 2015. We are doing a multi-centre on site stay at Wilderness Lodge, Renaissance at SeaWorld and Portofino Bay at Universal and frankly - I can't wait!!

Hoping you guys will be able to help me plan the perfect trip... after all, half the fun is in the planning ;)

Hi Fi, your trip sounds wonderful. And a lovely way to put the crap behind you and look forward to the future. Wilderness Lodge is our absolute favourite WDW resort - make sure you ask, at check in, whether there is any opportunity to be Flag family during your stay. You get to go on the roof of the Lodge and raise the flags in the morning. It really is a fantastic experience :thumbsup2 It has been a few years since we stayed at the renaissance, but it was a truly lovely hotel. The rooms are huge and we had a wonderful view of Sea World - we could Kraken and Journey to Atlantis from our room. I have never stayed at protofino bay but it looks so beautiful and I love staying onsite at Universal.

Have fun with the planning :goodvibes

So sorry to hear that your both going through such a tough time.

But hopefully the focus of something positive like a visit to the Mouse can bring you both a light at the end of the tunnel

:love::love:
