Day 6- Tuesday- May, 17th 2011- An evening and a wish come true.
On the bus ride back from Typhoon Lagoon Joey and I started discussing what to do with the rest of our evening.
I am on my usual overly excited Disney state and all I want to do is go back to the hotel for a shower and go out for super somewhere (maybe at Downtown Disney or a counter service in a resort).
Joey is on his usual overly relaxed Disney state and he actually had the courage to suggest we should just go back to our room and relax for the rest of the evening. You know, to stay in.
I am like, "You are kidding, right? I am sorry, honey, but we stay in AT HOME. IN CANADA. NOT here".
In the meantime, Beatriz ended up falling asleep in the bus reinforcing Joey's theory that we needed a break.
However, as we arrived at our resort and started heading to our room we saw a family carrying their luggages back to their car with those very well known sad faces we all have when our Disney vacation is over.
I could see the fear in Joey's eyes. In less than 48 hours that was going to be us so he changed his tone and was ready to meet me half way.
There is nothing like the prospect of the end of your Disney vacation to put you back into the let's get cracking mood.
So we both agreed that Beatriz needed the rest and we should let her have her nap. So we went back to our room, had our showers, Joey watched a bit of TV and I packed a little bit. Beatriz was still sleeping so he went downstairs and brought super back into our room.
We ended up sharing a Mediterranean flat bread that, unfortunately, was NOT GOOD at all.
I think after having the flat bread the year before at Mara and the one at Jiko earlier that week it was just impossible for the one from Everything Pop to compete.
I have to say the dessert was nice though. The tie-dye cheesecake is everything you expect it to be:
So finally we decided to wake up Bea, shower her and feed her and by 8pm we were back in the bus stop.
"Where to?", you ask.
Well.... back to where we had started our day:
So you must remember that on our very first night we had attempted to stay at MK long enough to see Wishes but Beatriz was just not having it so we had to leave right after the parade. I was very disappointed because we hadn't been able to see Wishes as a family of three yet.
But we were about to make up for that.
Sorry but no time or energy to blow dry my hair.
So we first saw the show "The Memories, The Magic and You" that was really something else. We LOVED the effects on the castle. It is just amazing to witness what these Imageneers can do.
Then there is a little five minute break between that show and Wishes but guess who announces she needs to pee at that very moment?
UNBELIEVABLE!
So poor Joey battles the crowd running with her like a mad man trying to get back before the start of Wishes. We really wanted her to see Tinkerbelle flying and we had scored an awesome viewing spot.
Fortunately, he was able to make it and my wish finally came true: we watched Wishes together and finished our evening feeling quite content.
Once Wishes was over we went to the Emporium at Main Street for some dessert while we waited for the crowd to thin out and Joey had his second ice cream cookie sandwich of the trip.
Back in the bus stop we even got to see the Water Pageant passing by:
