Let the memories (of our May 2011 trip) begin! *UPDATED SEPT. 18th- LINK to NEW TR!*

I love three amigos. I just went to the one on Ste-Catherine last thursday. And there's one 10 minutes from my house here on the South shore.

Maybe you'll be lucky and Beatriz will never outgrow the "take pictures with characters" phase.

I love Three Amigos too, but I haven't been there in ages! I only visited the one on Ste-Catherine. Is the one on the South Shore just as good?

We love Pecos bill. The food is not spectacular, but we love the atmosphere.

I've never been to the one on the south shore. I'd have to see. I tried the one on Ste-Catherine and the one on St-Denis. Both good.

I don't know why but Mexican food just sounds better if it's downtown? :rotfl: I should try the one on the Shore as well, much easier parking! Hmmm, maybe Sunday... Though not sure how spicy food will agree with my pregnant stomach!

Sorry Queila for going off topic. :) So, when is that Typhoon Lagoon update coming? :p Just kidding, take your time. :goodvibes

I live 10 minutes from the one in the South Shore too. ;) We go there fairly often and it is one of Beatriz' favorite restaurants. I have only been to the one downtown once and it has gotten nothing on the one here. We should go for some (virgin) margaritas!!

That'd be nice.

Why "virgin"? hehe

I have been the worst DISer EVER!

Gosh... we got back from Brazil over 10 days ago but they have been crazy 10 days. Lots going on. Some bad news, some very bad news but some good news too. I won't bother you with the bad stuff but I will let you know that I did go for my ultrasound and everything seems to be OK with the baby.

The doctor ruled out multiples. We saw one heart beat and that makes my heart happy. :lovestruc I am finally starting to allow myself to believe we will have a baby!!

Thank you for all your encouragement and positive messages.

Now let's try to update this TR, shall we??

Day 6- May, 16th 2011- Wednesday- Afternoon- Trip to Typhoon Lagoon.

So we have just finished our meal and changed into our bathing suits in the bathroom in the lobby of Wilderness Lodge.

In my mind this was the perfect plan. No need to go back to our hotel to change. Just get a bus form WL to TL. What I did not count on though was the amount of time it was actually going to take us to execute the plan. :sad2:

We got to the bus stop at WL and we waited. And then we waited. And then we waited some more. I would say at least 25 minutes for a Typhoon Lagoon bus to show up. We were all growing inpatient so Joey took the time to have a little photo shoot session with Beatriz.

Finally, the bus arrives and we head to TL. Or so we thought. First we do some touring on Disney property. One stop at Grand Floridian (down goes the scooter ramp, up comes the scooter ramp), two stops at Down Town Disney (down goes the scooter ramp, up comes the scooter ramp) popcorn:: The thing was endless! Let's just say I finally understood why some people rent cars even though they are staying on property.

In the meantime Beatriz ended up falling asleep on us. When the lady next to us realized we were actually getting off at Typhoon Lagoon with a sleeping child she seemed surprised. I told her not to worry. I was going to throw her in the water and she would wake up in a minute.

The lady thought I was kidding. :rolleyes1

So we get to TL over an hour after we left the WL lobby and now we have maybe 90 minutes before TL closes. We decided to make the best of it anyways so we went in, Beatriz woke up and so we headed to the kiddie area with the slides and play area made to her size.

She LOVED it!!

Unfortunately I do not have many pictures in the park. We were running around trying to enjoy ourselves as much as possible with the time we had left.

We also gave the wave pool a try. First Joey and then myself. I would definitely love to go back to TL with more time and, dare I say, more sun. I found Beatriz is still a little young for that though. She requires constant supervision and the experience is not very relaxing. I think for the near future I might stick to the pools in the hotels.

Soon enough some dark clouds started creeping in and it got a little cold for us.

People were starting to leave so we decided to follow the crowd out. The bus to Pop century came fast enough and we were back to out hotel before 6pm. Now the rest of our evening was opened.

Next up:

What should we do with the rest of our evening???

Ok, first, how did I miss you are pregnant????? Did you fail to mention this tiny detail, or is my pregnancy brain syndrome worse than I thought? :lmao:

In any case, CONGRATS! and I'm glad to hear everything is going well with the baby. The virgin margaritas comment makes even more sense now!

Now, onto your update. Man, talk about a LONG wait and bus ride to get to TL. :headache: It's nice to hear you were able to have a little but of fun once there, but it certainly was a big hassle getting there in the first place! I remember during our first trip we took the bus to DTD from the Poly (taking a break from MK for a few hours) and this was by far our longest wait.

I am so glad to hear that everything is going fine with the baby. Hope that you are feeling well.

As always, cute pictures of Beatriz, both at the bus stop and Typhoon Lagoon.

We have encountered that very same LOONNNNGGGG wait to get to Typhoon Lagoon. We were fooled! It is really easy to go from Animal Kingdom to Blizzard Beach, because most of the buses stop there before going to a resort. BUT we tried the same thing on our way to TL... We decided to try the same with TL. We took a bus from AK to Caribbean Beach Resort. But the bus we took went first to AKL, then back to AK (I think the driver was lost) and THEN to CBR. Then to DTD, 2 stops, and then to TL. It was somewhere between an hour and hour and a half travel time. And we had limited time there too.

From now on, we take a cab from resorts to Typhoon Lagoon. About 15 minutes, $15, so worth it!

The wave pool must have been very difficult with Beatriz. It is really pretty intense.

Congrats on the pregnancy! :goodvibes

I'm sorry I haven't commented much recently but have been a bad DISer myself.

Love the photoshoot session :thumbsup2

Another day, another entry, another excuse.

We have been sick for the past two weeks in this house and I am so ready for things to start looking up.

I had a bad cold that turned into a laryngitis that turned into a bronchitis. I am on antibiotics now and feel much better but still have a nasty cough. In the midst of it all we had a round of gastroenteritis that put us all down. Fun times. My house is a total mess. Add a pregnancy, work responsibilities and a 4 year old to the equation and you get an overtired mama who is, mostly, in need of a Disney trip.

But it is March and I foresee better times ahead.

:rotfl:

I did mention it before but I forgive you for not noticing it. Pregnancy brain sydrome can get to the best of us. :rotfl:
Before our little tour with the bus I never understood why someone would rent a car or grab a taxi at Disney but I certainly do now. ;)

We did not bring Bea past knee height on the wave pool. Joey went in to "catch some waves" first while I stayed with her and then we switched. I will positively wait until Beatriz is quite older before bringing her back to a water park. She has just as much fun (or even more) at the regular pools in the resort.

ronmel, I also missed that Queila was pregnant.

Congrats Queila!!

Thank you!
