Let the Garden State Invasion Begin!!

Okay fellow New Jerseyites, New Jerseyans or whatever we are, whose getting ready for the trek to the Mouse? Are most of you adventurers leaving this weekend or during the week? We're leaving Tuesday 11/8 and coming home 11/15 and staying at OKW (DVCers here). The airfare rates from SW were good for us then ($49 each way). To all you folks travelling in the next few days (whether from NJ or not), have a safe and wonderful time! See all "yous guys" there! The Garden State rocks!

do you fly sw out of philly?-we are flying continental @ $445/ticket(5tix) we booked in april well before jet blue announced they would be flying out of newark. $49 is a steal-I would go every year for sure.

Thanks for the Cape May compliment - we love it here, too. We're flying non-stop from PHL to MCO. We have flown out of ACY in the past, but there weren't a lot of bargains for this time of year; they know everyone wants to go to Fla. this week. ACY is a LOT less hassle, but we also have family 15 min. from PHL. Have a great vacation!

All public schools are closed in Jersey for the week while the teachers attend conferences. Many Jerseyites head to WDW because it is less crowded (or used to be) and still very warm.

well, the schools are only closed for thursday & friday. so we will fly out tues eve-kids will miss school on wed-they are upset-fly back sunday eve. as you can see some people take off the whole week-I would love to do that but we have 3 kids in high school and missing too many days can get them behind-and my wife would'nt let them miss more than one-I would! you can tell who wears the boots!!!

Not exactly. ALL the public schools in New Jersey are closed the Thursday and Friday of next week (NOT the entire week, although I guess there could be some districts that close for the whole week, but STATEWIDE it's just Thursday and Friday). The schools are closed for the annual state teachers' conference in Atlantic City. Obviously, a lot of people add a few extra days and take their kids out of school.

My town has the school's closed all week. I know my uncle and aunt and my little cousins went down today, but they were going to Universal. I should add we are in NJ, too.
