I started a summer job at the local ice cream place in town. I've not only learned how to make a cone/slush/flurry...but I've also learned many life lessons. It's a little long, but I think it's fun to learn about things from other people's points of view.
1) Don't be afraid to go for it! The flurry machine at work (you know how the McFlurry machines work, right? They have this spinny thing that goes really fast and whips the ice cream and candy together. I don't like that!!! I call it the Electric Whippy Talons of Death. Scary stuff right there), but anyway...you really have to go for it in order for everything to mix well! You can't be afraid of the Electric Whippy Talons of Death or else there will be disaster. Trust me.
2) Treat all customers with respect...like they are the last customer of the day. They like to know that everything is okay and they LOVE to be treated nicely. We should all treat people like that!-remember, you just have to be nice or at least fake it till you make it. It's also nice when we get people who treat us nicely and say please and thank you-we sometimes can't go any faster and some of us there (namely ME) are still in their first month of learning things!
3) Stuff happens. You drop things, you break things-but life goes on. That's important.
4) It's a lot of hard work! But it's fun work too!
and lastly
4) When you spend too much time in a small hot hot hot building with loud machinery, you will definitely lose your mind by the summer is over.
