Lesson learned. Need more days in Disney!!! Aug 2010 (NEW 1/20-COMPLETE)

Video updates

So, once again, I have failed to post videos that go with my previous posts! So here's another video update.

I need to find that other post so I can give it a link on my contents page...

Enjoy! Also, I have added another update to my NYC tr on my contents page.

Meet Leonard!

WARNING: Don't watch this next one if you don't like bugs. It's of a tarantula. You can't see it well, but it's there.

Feeding time!

It's an elephant.

Wow, that kid sure is excited about flamingos.

Ok, that's about it for now.

Chapter 28. Day 6 pt.5- Now the party really begins

After our month-long safari trip that felt a LOT shorter, we considered going back to Everest to use our FPs.
DSC00864.jpg

Did I tell you how much I love this fake tree? Because I really do.

On our way there, a CM was walking by and greeted us by saying "Happy Anniversary!" because of our buttons. We were being congratulated all day and I LOVED IT. I love these buttons so much. I felt so special. On top of that, because of our Mickey and Minnie ears, a lot of CMs also addressed us as Mickey and Minnie. I loved all the attention.

Lesson number 19. Always wear the ears and get buttons.

Another thing I learned to love at WDW was chatting with the CMs. You never know how fun it is until you try it. I feel sorry for those people that brush off CMs or try to get away from them as soon as possible because they're in a rush or feel awkward about talking to strangers.

Lesson number 20. Always try to make time to chat with the CMs.

We were in no hurry, so we chatted casually with the CM about our anniversary and he told us how him and his wife just celebrated their 3rd anniversary too. Then he commented on how cute he thought our ears were. Of course, we thanked him and told him we were having a great time at Disney. Then he said something I'll probably never forget.

CM:"Hey, how would you guys like to be the Grand Marshal's in today's parade?"

CM:"You guys would be in a float with Rafiki, what do you say?"

Um...."YES!!" :cool1: "Thank you!!!" :worship:

He told us where and when to meet and went on his merry way. Oh my gosh, did that just happen??? OH MY GOSH. And you know what? I'm not a big fan of parades but for some reason, I really liked the Jungle Jammin Parade on my first trip. And here we were, about to be a PART OF IT!

I have always DREAMED of this day. Ok, not always, but since I first saw it, I wanted to know how someone could be chosen to be a part of it. I love the music, the dancers and the floats. It's definitely a very fun parade and just makes you want to get up and dance! Which is what I did on our first trip actually. Picture that, a 17yr old dancing to a Disney parade.

So at that point, we decided to change our plans. We were to meet outside KS before the parade, so instead of heading all the way to EE, we took in the Flights of Paradise show, which I also really like. I don't hear a lot of people talking about this show. If you're not afraid of birds, then I really think it's a hidden gem.

On our way to the show, we passed by a stand that sold CORN DOG NUGGETS???? I thought they only had these in MK! I was very happy too see them again, and to eat them again too. We bought a box of it and some apple slices and because we're big on sauces, we grabbed a whole bunch to try.

I don't have my trip notes with me so I can't tell you which ones we liked best. I can tell you without a doubt that we loved the mustard. The apple slices were just what we needed; cool, crisp and juicy.

We sat back to enjoy the show and talked about going on the Pangani Forest Trail because it exited right at KS. We didn't take many pictures of the show because the birds moved too much to take good ones.

During the show, I was suddenly reminded of what Glenn (glennbo) does with his FPs and took this shot.

Coming up next: Hey meerkat!

Wow! What luck getting picked to be grand marshals!

YEAH!!! Huge luck!!! We even wondered whether our ethnicity had anything to with it...because it was so rare to see other Asians in the park, also wearing mouse ears.

Either way, a bucket of Pixie dust fell on our heads.

Wow! Awesome! I'd love to be in parade one day, and the Jammin Jungle Parade is my favorite day parade!

Also, I totally agree with wearing the ears and buttons. I LOVED all the attention it got us!

How awesome !!I am gonna talk to every CM I see at AK !!!!:worship::worship::worship:I will wear every pin available , smile and even wink!!!:rotfl2: We saw the Bird Show in August and the Family loved it !!However Carol has a Bird phobia so it is not one we do on our Free Trips !!!:sad2::eek:

So :cool1: your Grand Marshallness!:woohoo: I know we don't stop to talk to the CMs enough - it is so rewarding when you do - I mean just to get to learn more about them, but you never know what else might be waiting for you! I'm sure you were just the cutest couple He'd met that day!:flower3:

Haha, that will totally get you in the parade!! Yeah, it's not a good show for people with bird phobia. I mean, the birds swoop really low over the audience!

Haha, Grand Marshalness, I like it!

Yeah, I just love chatting with them, you can learn a lot. We chatted with quite a few CMs on our trip. I loved that we weren't in commando the whole time.

And awww, thanks Tammie!

Say what? Grand Marshall? That's awesome!!!!

I can't wait to read that update. Did they get pictures of you?

And nice fastpass picture! ;)

It was SUCH an awesome experience!

And actually, we got our very own PP photos of the parade! They were all free too!

Haha, thanks about the FP pic. Not as good as yours though. I still need some more practice.

Real life surprise

Hey guys! My birthday was at the beginning of the month but Andrew said my present was coming in the mail so we didn't get it until yesterday.

Guess what???? It's possibly one of the best presents he could've ever gotten me.

Ever heard of Oneshare? The website where you can buy just 1 stock?

Can you see where I'm going with this?

I now OWN DISNEY STOCK. I'm one of the many OWNERS of DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Definitely one of the best presents EVER. He even framed it and added a little silver engraving with the saying:

When you were little, you dreamed it
Then a little older, you lived it
And now, you own it.

He came up with that all by himself too!

My best friend also brought me this back from her trip to DCA/DCL.

It's a Duffy the Disney bear wristlet.

Happy belated birthday, Yuki!

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift to receive! Well done, Andrew! You picked the right one ....... girl and present! ;) :thumbsup2

I got the same gift last Christmas. Isn't it the best gift ever :cloud9: (besides a trip to Disney, but that's a little more pricy. :rotfl:)

Is it really bad that I JUST came across your TR (through another person's TR) I'm sorry! :(

BUT I've caught up! Now..heres a thing. There is a warehouse store here in the States called Bj's Wholesale. They have Guldens Mustard in a 3 pack (big bottles), for like 6 dollars. My mom loves mustard, I don't. But we bought it the other day. Haha.

Also, your TR is much like I imagine my first one will be like. Very random, and referencing Big Bang Theory. :rotfl:

Omg that is way awesome that you guys got to be in the parade! It's good to know that there is a chance to be chosen to do that, even if you don't have a small child.

It IS the best ever! Nothing better for a Disney fan. Well...other than a trip, like you said. In fact....a cruise on the Fantasy would top it. I should start hinting :rotfl:

Hey Heather! :welcome:

No, don't be sorry! Better late than never right? Plus, you got to one of the best parts! I've been keeping this surprise from the DIS since my trip! Who's TR did you come from?

Gulden's 3-pack  I want. I'm thinking of another trip across the border soon, I should pick up a bottle...

I should throw more references in my TR! It's been a little lacking lately. I'd love to read your TR. In fact, I'm heading to your PTR now!
