**Lesser known or non-publicized entertainment at Disneyland***

The Pixie Hollow show was one of the most amazing moments from our 2010 trip! It was fairly late and the park was starting to empty out. My DH and DD (10) and I were just wandering around in the area. When the lights and music started I think we were the only 3 people in the area and I could not get over how lucky I felt to have seen it as there was no signs or notice just suddenly beautiful music and lights! We're definitely going to have to try and experience this again on our Oct trip :).

The Peter Pan story time at Innoventions was something I did not intend to see on our last trip but I am so glad that I did. Another group asked a CM if it was going to happen soon and the CM offered to do it right away. This was in the pirate themed bedroom on the bottom level. If anyone has the opportunity to ask about this or see it I highly recommend it.

I know it is listed an entertainment but hardly anyone ever attends the Flag Retreat Ceremony, which makes me sad. It is nicely done and very patriotic.

We visited last summer with my brother, who was in the Air Force. This was our first time at the flag retreat and it was very moving. At one point, veterans and active service people and/or their families are invited to step forward as their branch of the military is called out. There was a special guest the day we went, Medal of Honor recipient, Marine Col. Jay R. Vargas. Here's a link to the article with pics: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...honors-medal-of-honor-recipient-jay-r-vargas/

We were totally surprised to observe Musical Chairs at Coke Corner. We just watched and was a fun surprise!

We're going to have to check out Pixie Hollow's Light Show.

That pixie Hollow video looks amazing.

I am loving all these tidbits!! Thanks, everyone.

We've never seen the Running of the Goats at Big Thunder Ranch, but understand it happens every day when the zoo closes for the day.

We saw the running of the goats. We just happened to be in the jamboree area, and they had everyone step aside, and the goats trotted past. It was so cute.

Oh, I would love to see this!
What time do they usually close the zoo?

4:00 p.m. is the bedtime for the petting zoo animals.
They need their beauty rest.
:)
Whenever I have asked a Big Thunder Ranch CM about the time, 4 p.m. has always been the time stated. Saying that, because I joke about a lot of things, but the time is true.

Last April when I was at the DCA, I stumbled upon the Green Army Men show just outside the end-point of the DCA parade route.

yes inquiring minds would like to know if he is still there

The show at the golden horseshoe is pretty funny. I had no idea they even did a show there until one day we went there to eat and it turned into a funny little play.
