Lesli's Live Long and Strong WISH Journal

Woohoo!! I miss your journal for a few days and you're shrinking before my eyes!! hehe 189 and counting, that is awesome!!! :) Bet you feel great!

Hope you get everything done and have a great day! And can I say it made me smile to see someone use the word Mostaccioli! hehe Not sure why but that makes me giggle. :rotfl:

Have a happy & a healthy one!
Mike :goodvibes

Lesli-- Congratulations on being firmly into the next "decade"! That is so exciting! Keep up the great work! :cheer2:

Real quick. Don't have much time.

Yesterday, DH got part of the roof torn off when we had to leave to help his aunt move. I wish this could have been worked out sooner, but she was hesitant and very last minute. So in 4.5 hrs, we packed her home, moved her to the next building and unpacked her almost 90%. I am definitely counting 2 hrs as exercise. I never slowed down. By the time we got home, we were both too tired to work on much at all. I did do some paperwork last night to get a jump start on today.

To the best of my knowledge, I ate some goldfish for AM snack. Lunch was 2 slices ham and some cheese and a couple bites of pasta salad. No PM snack. Supper was 1 bowl of chili and a biscuit. Later I ate some cookies and was just too tire to care about the fact that they really weren't good for me. Water wasn't too bad.

Breakfast: oatmeal, 2 slices ham, grapes
AM snack: gold fish and PB
Lunch: mostaccioli (are you smiling Mike?)
PM snack: cookies (just too busy, really I need to move them further from my office, they are in the cupboard right around the corner)
Supper: bowl of soup, if I get it real soon.

Goals:
1. get a bunch of things in the mail - done
2. catch up on some bookwork - done
3. do good on water - about 1/2 way there

I better get going. I have to do a training for GS tonight and I need to leave in about 30 minutes. But I need to get ready to go and eat first.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

PS. I forgot to mention that the person who did my Pampered Chef party the other night gave me some really great compliments about my weight. She was so excited for me. It felt really good and really helps to make this journey worth it. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hahaha! Best way ever to start a description of what someone has eaten!! hehe "Well senator, I can neither confirm nor deny that I ate the pastry." LOL :) When you are not sure what you are eating, you are busy!!!

Hope that you have a great night and pleasant tomorrow! And yes, the mosticcioli made me giggle again! hehe

Mike :goodvibes

Thanks for the laugh Mike.

The training went well last night and I was able to connect with some of my new leaders from the next town over. Building confidence in people is always a good thing.

I did get some soup before I left for the training. By the time I got home, I was so hungry that I just started eating everything I could find. Hand 2 cookies, some bites of pasta salad, and then I decided to make a substantial meal and actually had some chili. Unfortunately, I had a few cookies after that as well. Good thing I had the chili or I probably would have eaten everything in the cupboards. Water was not bad for the day.

Breakfast: oatmeal
AM snack: banana
Lunch: salad and mostaccioli (need to clean out the fridge)
PM snack: ?
Supper: ?

Goals for day:
1. get camper packed
2. pay a few bills
3. straighten a little

We are off to see DD18. They are doing a parent's weekend. So, my goal is to leave all work and GS behind and just enjoy a book (on the trip) and my family. DH and I really contemplated just going down and coming back tomorrow, but we all really need a break from the day to day and this is a good chance for a mini escape so we can refocus on what really matters.

I better get going. I have lots yet to get down.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend and I will talk to you when I get back. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hope you had a good visit this weekend! I've been lurking, but not taking time to post. Sounds like you are doing very well!

Have a great week this week!

I'm back. We had a good time visiting with DD18 and it was nice to have a few days to ourselves and not concentrate on any outside distractions. Sometimes those few get-away days can seem like a week and really rejeuvenate you.

Ok, Friday. I was busy packing the camper to leave and I missed the AM snack and lunch. I did have a couple of cookies if that counts as food. We drove down, set up camp and then went to find DD18. After that we went to Steak n Shake, where I ate a burger, fries and cottage cheese. I literally inhaled the food. Note to self: never allow myself to get so hungry. We enjoyed our visit and then after dropping her back off at the dorms we headed back to camp. I did have some pasta salad shortly before bed.

Saturday. Breakfast was 1/2 sm box of Raisin bran w/milk, 1/2 banana, and toast. We met up with DD18 and then went to the book sale that the campus library was holding. There were a couple of good finds in the large sea of books. The most surprising find was a GS handbook from 1930, so I picked it up to add to the collection of rare books. Next, we went to the ROTC house for lunch. She introduced us to her sergeants and it was easy to tell that they are very impressed with her. Let's hope she gets that tuition waiver, of which she had and excellent interview for on Friday. This week, one of the sergeants is going to help her with time management. I guess the program is very successful and she is willing to try. I told her to pass on all the info she learns or maybe I could just sit in on the program myself and learn a few things. ;) I ate a hotdog w/ bun, baked beans, can of sprite, and probably too many chips.

We met some of her friends, did a mini tour of campus for DH and then did a little shopping. PM snack was 1/3 pretzel w/ cinnamon. Supper was at Pizza Hut and I ate about 4 slices plus one bread stick. After dropping her back off, we headed for camp and roasted marshmallows in the freezing cold. It was fun, but very short lived. I ate 4 marshmallows, 1 graham cracker and 2 squares chocolate. I knew I was not eating well, but I also didn't want to spend a lot of time thinking about it and just wanted to enjoy. Shortly before bed we had a little popcorn (and I had a few bites of pasta salad).

Sunday. We took DD18 to Denny's for breakfast. It was ok. I had a veggie omelet and an english muffin. Definitely too much food. Surprizingly, DD18's roommate and family came in while we were eating. By that time, I didn't think we would get a chance to meet the family, so it was a good surprise. After our meal, we went and made introductions and a few minutes of small talk. We took DD18 back to the dorms and DS was mad that she had to leave. But, I could tell that the little time we spent with her did manage to rejeuvenate her as well and should take her through until Thanksgiving. We went back to pack up camp. On the way home, we saw snow clouds. It is much too early for that. Lunch was late, I had a chicken teriyaki from Subway w/ mayo, sweet & sour sauce, tomato, and cucumber. Supper last night was leftovers. I had 1 slice pizza and some breadstickes. Oh, I also had a few cookies here and there.

I was so tired when I got home that I took a nap. Last night, I began straightening my office.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/ mushrooms & moz, oatmeal
AM snack: a few bite size cookies and some fritos (I better get a grip on today)
Lunch: chili
PM snack: yogurt or milk and banana
Supper: I'll have soup and salad. Everyone else can have whatever is in the freezer as I clean it out.

Goals:
1. drink lots of water
2. 1 hour cleaning office
3. bills and banking
4. 3 hours of bookwork

I do have a few meetings this week, but thankfully, only one to prepare a 10 minute presentation for. The others don't need prep work. Yes! So this week, I am going to concentrate on getting caught up and planning the details for DD15's birthday this weekend. I am feeling much better today then I have in a long time. Let's hope, I can focus a little of that energy back towards my weight loss journey.

Better get going. Everyone have a wonderful day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with DD! I've definitley savored the time I've had with my mom since I went to college. It's beautiful to watch us move from parent/child to being friends. I'm glad you two had time to reconnect and you must be so proud of all she's accomplished!

Sounds like you get a bit of a breather this week! Good for you! Enjoy time to pursue your own interests and get caught up on other things. Try to sneak some fun time for you in there as well! :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful day! :flower:

P.S. We flew through those snow clouds on the way home. You're right. It's much, much too early! :cold:

Now, I did post yesterday, but then when I was waiting for my journal to update, my internet connection went nuts. I thought the server went down, but obviously it was here at home. After DH fixed it, I just didn't have time to get back online again. So sorry, if anyone missed me.

Monday. The scale was the same. I stayed busy in my office getting things caught up. Didn't do much bookwork, but got other things done. I am practicing the "file it, deal with it, or toss it" method of organization. So far it is working for me. For lunch I had HC garden veggie and crackers. The PM snack was fritos and cookies. Supper was 1 1/2 bowls of chili, followed by popcorn in the evening. Water was so so.

Yesterday. Still worked in my office all day. I am amazed at the progress I am making in some areas, although the "look" of the office is still pretty scattered. At least I know that I am making headway. Breakfast was cream of wheat, 3 slices ham, yogurt. AM snack was cookies (does anyone else see a theme here). Lunch was mostaccioli and the PM snack was cookies and gold fish. Actually, I wouldn't call this snacking lately, it is more like grazing. Supper was very late since I had to leave the house early for a meetnig. I went to DQ on the way home and got a cheeseburger and a small Heath blizzard.

The junkfood eating is driving me nuts. I am just not taking the time to pay attention to what I eat and I am just grabbing whatever is available. It is time to do a major restocking of the kitchen. My other problem is that I am focusing so much on trying to get certain tasks done, that I am not stopping for proper meals. I really need to work on these things over the next few weeks.

That brings us up to date.

The good news is that I lost 1lb! I am down to 188! Just when I thought I wasn't going to lose anything this month. I am really amazed after all that ice cream last night, but I will take what I can get. Now, if I really put a little effort into my journey right now, my body might really be ready to lose a lot more.

Breakfast: cream of wheat, ham, yogurt
AM snack: banana and milk
Lunch: nice large salad
PM snack: cheese & veggies
Supper: chicken, green beans, rice

Goals for day:
1. 15 minutes of dance
2. Bills
3. Bookwork
4. prepare my presentation for tomorrow's meeting
5. only 1 hour or less of GS
6. plan food for DD15's birthday

Well, I better get going. I have been lurking in everyone's journals here and there to try to keep up, but just haven't had time to post. If I don't get caught up on posting by the end of the week, I will do so by the middle of next week. Just wanted to let you all know that I am thinking about you.

Everyone have a great and magical day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yay! One more lb gone!!! Good for you! :cool1:

It sounds like you're getting an awful lot done, which must feel great. It is easy to get distracted and forget about stocking the kitchen or stopping for a good meal. Make sure to take care of yourself while you're taking care of everything else.

Have a great day!

Hi Lesli!

Glad to hear you are doing pretty good! Congrats on the one pound down, that is awesome! :) Sorry I have been MIA!

Have a great night!

Yesterday didn't go according to plan at all. I ran a few errands in the morning and then DH decided he wanted to go out for lunch. After we got home, I spent awhile sort Pampered Chef, can't believe it came so quickly. By then it was off to parent/teacher conferences, pick up a few things for DD16's birthday, which is today. I tried to sneak a bouquet of 16 roses into the house so that I could put them on the table this morning as a surprise. She saw them. So there went that idea. Why is it that when you are trying to hide something, that is when people will show in places where they never go any other time? Oh well.

Food was completely off plan. AM snack was a cookie. Lunch was Chinese buffet, of which I did much better this time. Rice, chicken, egg drop soup, 1 wonton, 1 sm biscuit, sm portion of low mein, sm portion of pepper steak (or something like that), and some General Tao's chicken. After coming home I ate more cookies. Supper was soup & toasted cheese. It was a very wimpy soup. Then later was cheese and wine, which was nice and relaxing and a very rare occurance around here.

Back to the drawing board. Thankfully, the cookies are out of the house (or course that will happen when you eat them all). Part of the problem is the fact that we can now get Pepperidge Farm and I haven't had that for so long that I have been taste testing so to speak. The other part is not stopping for proper meals and not focusing on stocking good foods, which is much easier to do in the summer time.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/sauteed mushrooms & moz, yogurt, and ham
AM snack: banana and milk
Lunch: I am going to try the salad route again
PM snack: veggies & PB
Supper: potluck dinner - so I will choose wisely and portion accordingly, I can't over eat since I have a presentation and need to "work the room" at various points of the evening, so I need to be feeling energetic.

Goals for day:
1. Finish the bills from yesterday
2. Finalize my presentation
3. Hopefully some bookwork

Tomorrow, I need to start making cakes for the party. Also, I need to run to the Disney store for some Tinkerbelle items. DD16 loves Tink. Also need some decorations. Then of course, I need to pick up some material so that I can work on costumes here soon. I need to add to some existing pieces for DD16 and DD8 in order to give them a "fairy apperance". DS might need a whole new costume sewn, but I am not sure yet. And just when I think I can enjoy a break, I will need to get out invitations on the 1st for DH's family reunion in December. I would also like to do something special for that one, but we will see what I have time for. I guess I better start shopping online for Christmas, soon as well.

Ok. I am jumping too far ahead now. I will talk to you all later.

Have a wonderful losing day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Sounds like a full day ahead!

Glad to hear you got lunch with DH--it's always nice to get a few minutes together during the day.

Happy birthday to your DD16!!! It sounds like you've got a lovely party planned for her!

I hear you about hiding things! I swear people have an uncanny knack for it! I'm sure she was still touched by the thought, though.

Hope you have a great day and enjoy your dinner tonight!

So glad that I've finally gotten time to catch up with you and your goings on. Glad to hear Parents Weekend was a nice visit. And Happy Bday to your 16-year-old. We are under two months until dd's and I'm actually getting excited. I'm more excited for her to start driving! (What am I thinking :) ).

Hang in there and the scale will move some more - good job on getting it moving again.

Keep on
Chris

Yesterday was pretty productive once I stopped stalling. Again, I am feeling a sense of relief as I get these loose ends tied up. It is so nice to feel like things are getting caught up.

Am snack was a cookie bite and a few goldfish. Lunch was late, but I did have a really nice salad. I almost forgot how good they could taste. Supper was a potluck at the GS district meeting. I had a couple of bites of noodles w/meatballs, a couple bites of chicken and noodles, a coleslaw/apple salad, a few tostitos and some taco dip/salad. I also had a piece of banana bread, a kit kat and a few peanuts. Water was really good

Breakfast: cream of wheat, ham
AM snack: will miss
Lunch: hopefully Paneras
PM snack: yogurt
Supper: I am leaning towards something easy, maybe chicken, salad, and green beans

Goals for day:
1. birthday shopping
2. bake cakes & decorate this evening
3. clean the house
4. laundry
5. finish food planning for tomorrow

I am sure that today will be a whirlwind. So much to do to get ready for DD16's party tomorrow.

Talk to everyone later. Hope you all have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Good job on yesterday. Hope you have a great weekend with the party and all the celebrating for your dd. It sounds like it should be fun.

Keep on
Chris

Water was horrible yesterday. I got so busy and was away for part of the day and of course I forgot to bring it with me.

Food was not as planned at all. AM snack was missed. Lunch was fried rice and Borboun chicken at a quick serve mall location. It was alright, but nothing worth going back for. PM snack.........Oh, I ate a Heath bar. Supper was steak and mash potatoes. Later DH made popcorn and I had some of that as well.

Got my shopping done. Had to take care of a business calls that were unexpected, but hopefully will turn out really good. Didn't really get too laundry and started on the house cleaning.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/mushrooms & moz, yogurt
AM snack: ham & cheese
Lunch: salad
PM snack: will miss
Supper: will be early. We are having soup, pizza, and salad. What a combo, but the kids want pizza. That will be followed by cake and ice cream.

Goals for day:
1. Decorate
2. clean house
3. finish decorating cakes
4. begin working on costumes later tonight
5. WATER, I NEED WATER

Time to go. It will be a jam packed day and I am alone with the youngest two unless DH takes them to the store for a couple of hours.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hi Lesli,

Good luck getting everything done! I hope DD16's party goes well tonight! :)

Have a great day!
