Yesterday was pretty successful in many ways.
First off, food was was pretty good. I stuck to the plan for the most part. The AM snack became a handful off trail mix (walnuts, almonds, raisins) and lunch was at Panera, where I had a 1/2 turkey artichoke sandwich (probably many carbs), 1/2 of my 1/2 order of classic salad (don't like eating too many salads when they are dripping with dressing, so I gave the rest to DH), and an apple

eek: you mean I skipped the 3" baguette that is so tasty? Yes, I did.

) Anyway, I went with moderation and balance and realized that if I have bread with my sandwich, I really didn't need it on the side. Amazingly, DH chose soup and salad over a sandwich. Dinner was a hamburger (grilled outside, don't you love warmer weather) w/bun and a 7 steak fries (baked). Water was 64 oz.
DH and I did go looking for a treadmill and were able to try a few and find out all the major differnces, aside from price. We asked tons of questions just trying to learn what we can. Then over lunch we talked about who was going to use it and how so that we could decide on the best fit. Now when I asked DH to search this out awhile back, he figured it was just for me and couldn't see himself using one at all. I have also been frustrated with him because he agreed quite awhile ago that we would work on the weight loss together and yet he didn't bother to jump on board, making excuses along the way. Well, we all know it is easier with support. So imagine my surprise when he said he seriously would use the treadmill and needed a major lifestyle change.

I really think that new scale helped.

Well, that he found out that an anquaintence of his took of 80 lbs and went from being diabetic to not having diabetes at all. He wasn't sure about that until I told him it is very possible to avoid diabetes if you are at a healthy weight. Since it's a high risk factor in his family, I think this was part of the wake up call. Bottom line, we both have our family health histories that we could avoid and not make our own, so why not change that now?
Anyway, I guess he has narrowed down the treadmill to 3 (after much research), so now we have go look at the other 2. Maybe in the next few weeks we will have one. We did find that the cheaper you go, the more problems they have and they don't hold up, especially if you are going to use them for jogging or running. Oh well. Since we are not close to a community center or gym, I it will pay for itself in just under a year if you considered the cost for us to drive to one plus pay membership. Next equipment research? The elliptical.
I did get quite a bit of work done, not as much as I would have liked, but that is ok. Yes, I took time for myself as I made phone calls to my Gma and DSis, who I talked to for a long time. It was nice to catch up with her again since we keep missing each other.
Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 egg over easy, 1/2 7 grain toast w/jelly, 1 c milk, 1 c grapefruit juice
AM snack - banana
Lunch - ??? (maybe pack a lunch)
PM snack - apple w/pb
Supper - ???
Today's goals:
1. to have fun and be active (just do something different)
Not much that has to be done today. So I am taking DD11 and DS to the museum and the IMAX. I figured it will be something to do , keep me moving and not sitting, remind me to keep some balance in our lives, and it keeps the kids away from the tv, computer, and video games.
I hope all of you have a wonderful day today!
