Lesley and Diane's GIRLS ONLY V.I.P. Trip! 5/5 Pg.14(Les) pg.15(Diane) LAST DAY!

Hey girls! love the report so far, definitely like getting both angles from each of you! keep it up!

just a quick question, the decor and lighting in the rooms i've heard it can be dark and dingy. I'm thinking of WL for my mother/daughter surprise trip for next December for my mom's birthday....she didn't like POLY because of it's dark decor, but I know this place at christmas time is probably amazing.

Hi there! I didn't find the rooms to be dark. The carpet is dark and so are the bedspreads, but the walls are light and there is plenty of lighting in the room to make it bright! Lesley's right, I didn't think the pictures did the resort justice. It is GORGEOUS and the room we were in was immaculate. Christmas at the WL would be INCREDIBLE!!!!:goodvibes

Wow, I missed the start, but I'm all caught up. So cool for the upgrade. Both of you are my favorite TR writers. I'm loving the combo TR.
I'm loving the girls only trip. So happy for you both, and yes it shouldn't be so difficult for us moms to do something for ourselves from time to time.:)

So glad you are here Julie and thanks for the wonderful compliments!!!:thumbsup2

I got the large one in navy and white, Love it!:goodvibes

Day 2 of our All Girl V.I.P. Adventure
We discussed what time we should get up on our ONLY full Disney day and we decided we wanted to be to the park nice and early so we had an early wake up call and headed to our FREE breakfast at the Concierge Lounge. The beer and pop had been removed from the refrigerator and been replaced with more appropriate breakfast items:
LesleysDisneyTrip091Small.jpg

There was a nice spread laid out for breakfast.
You could have your choice of cereals:
LesleysDisneyTrip098Small.jpg

They had a nice selection of fresh fruit available:
LesleysDisneyTrip096Small.jpg

Then they had plates of muffins and pastries as well as bagels and crossiants:
LesleysDisneyTrip097Small.jpg

They also had a station with orange juice, apple juice and cranberry juice (loved the complimentary to go cups):
LesleysDisneyTrip099Small.jpg

We found a nice table overlooking the Wilderness Lodge pool and enjoyed our breakfast:
LesleysDisneyTrip094Small.jpg

We headed down to the bus to Epcot and were not excited to see a crowd of people by the stop:
LesleysDisneyTrip100Small.jpg

We waited for what seemed like forever and then a bus pulled up and we asked what was going on. He said there was a major accident that was preventing all buses going to and from Epcot and the Magic Kingdom so the only way to either park was to get to the Transportation and Ticket Center and get there that way. So we thanked him and high tailed it to the boat launch.
LesleysDisneyTrip101Small.jpg

We jumped on the first boat to the Magic Kingdom, look at the crowds at Magic Kingdom!!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip102Small.jpg

As we were sitting on the boat from the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom we were discussing strategy and decided we would hop on a ferry to the Transportation and Ticket Center. A lady in front of us overheard us and started talking to us and asking questions all about Disney (park and attraction questions as well as how to get to Epcot on this crazy morning). Then she said “we are having the best time, we were at the Grand Floridian last night and they had this incredible party!” I said “yeah, we were there and saw it, it looked amazing but it was for a private corporation” she said “oh, it was like wedding crashes, we crashed the party and had the best time, the entertainment and food was incredible!” I just couldn’t believe it, the nerve of some people and for her to openly tell us total strangers about it. Anyway…
We then jumped on a totally empty Ferry to the Transportation and Ticket Center:
LesleysDisneyTrip105Small.jpg

We passed two CRAMMED full Ferry’s that were heading from the TTC to Magic Kingdom, I couldn’t believe how full they were:
LesleysDisneyTrip103Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip106Small.jpg

Obviously everyone and their brother was trying to get to Magic Kingdom on this morning because you already saw the picture of the Main Entrance, AND the two full ferry’s, look at this shot of all the people still waiting on a ferry:
LesleysDisneyTrip104Small.jpg

We have no idea what the accident was on that morning but it sure did mess up the traffic system. We got to the Transportation and Ticket Center and got on a monorail to Epcot, we were thrilled it was the new TRON monorail, it is SOOOOO cool looking:
LesleysDisneyTrip109Small.jpg

I know this is going to sound weird but for a moment I was so caught up in the girls only trip that I forgot it was Flower and Garden Festival, I saw the topiaries at the entrance and it snapped back into my head and I was SO excited!!!! I tried to get a picture of the entrance but it was swarmed by people, this was the best I could get:
LesleysDisneyTrip110Small.jpg

I was so excited to be there for the festival for the first time:
LesleysDisneyTrip112Small.jpg

We headed over to see what the wait time in single rider would be for Test Track and it was 30 minutes so we decided to pass. We strolled through some of the gardens and found the Princess Tiana one:
LesleysDisneyTrip114Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip117Small.jpg

Then we went into the beautiful Fairy Garden, I missed Lauren at this point, I knew she would have really loved these, so I took a lot of pictures for her:
LesleysDisneyTrip118Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip119Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip120Small.jpg

The butterfly garden was really pretty, it was SUPER crowded in there but there were a lot of pretty butterflies:
LesleysDisneyTrip124Small.jpg

They had a house full of their cocoons:
LesleysDisneyTrip125Small.jpg

We went into Mousegears after that. I was in search of a gift for Luke, he is a HUGE Club Penguin fan and I was hoping they would have some unique merchandise. I was a little disappointed they didn’t have any t-shirts or anything and basically just had the same selection as Toys R Us, but I picked him up a Green Puffle and some trading cards:
LesleysDisneyTrip127Small.jpg

Right outside of Mousegears were these big bird houses that were labled with numbers and letters, I asked about them and she said they do that to keep track of the birds and their babies, I took this picture for Tim (he can’t stand birds):
LesleysDisneyTrip126Small.jpg

We ran over and scored a Fast Pass for Soarin’ for later in the day and then headed over to the World Showcase, isn’t this just beautiful!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip129Small.jpg

I loved everything we passed along the way:
LesleysDisneyTrip131Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip130Small.jpg

Bambi and Thumper were in Canada:
LesleysDisneyTrip132Small.jpg

Tea Gardens in Great Britian:
LesleysDisneyTrip133Small.jpg

Loved this one:
LesleysDisneyTrip134Small.jpg

Another great one:
LesleysDisneyTrip135Small.jpg

We had some time to kill before our lunch reservation at LeCellier so our goal was to shop around a bit and hopefully see the acrobat act in France and perhaps pertake in a beverage : )
I just love this fountain in France:
LesleysDisneyTrip136Small.jpg

We enjoyed exploring the shops:
LesleysDisneyTrip141Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip142Small.jpg

I found Remy among some wine:
LesleysDisneyTrip143Small.jpg

We explored around Morocco, I loved this, I had never explored back in there before, soooo beautiful:
LesleysDisneyTrip140Small.jpg

I can’t wait to take Lauren back there to look at all of the “sparkly jewelry” in our June trip.
We made our way back to France before the acrobat show and we were sitting in the shade of the trees by the fountain in France and just soaking it in. I saw everyone coming from the Grey Goose drink stand in France with yummy drinks in there hand and decided Diane and I HAD to have one : ) I ran over and scored two Grey Goose Vodka Lemonade slushies for us and they were Y-U-M-M-Y!!!!! OMG best drinks, and such a perfect way to spend the afternoon
LesleysDisneyTrip147Small.jpg

As we sat there sipping our drinks and enjoyed the peace and quiet of Epcot without kids and people watched Diane said to me “this is EXACTLY what I pictured this trip would be like, just being able to relax and do new things”, I couldn’t agree more, it was PERFECT. Here I was VERY happy with my empty drink glass:
LesleysDisneyTrip148Small.jpg

Before we knew it the acrobat show started up and Diane and I scurried over, they grabbed Diane and had her take a seat for the show:
LesleysDisneyTrip150Small.jpg

I had never seen this show before and didn’t know what to expect, If you haven’t seen it and don’t want to know what it’s all about then SCROLL QUICKLY because I took a lot of pictures. I’m just going to post a lot of what I took but to sum it up this show is A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!! It took my breath away and Diane and I were both clapping and cheering the entire show.
They kept presenting Diane with wine selections:
LesleysDisneyTrip154Small.jpg

Then they used the bottles for something fun:
LesleysDisneyTrip156Small.jpg

Then they stole her chair for the balancing act:
LesleysDisneyTrip161Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip162Small.jpg

CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST!!!!

Then they brought out the “big guns”
LesleysDisneyTrip166Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip173Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip175Small.jpg

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip176Small.jpg

I LOVED this show and can’t wait to have Tim and the kids see it in June. I just HAD to get a picture with these talented guys:
LesleysDisneyTrip177Small.jpg

After the incredible show it was time to make our way over to Canada to check in for our LeCellier reservation ( I was SO looking forward to this meal, the mushroom filet was calling my name : )
On our way over this talented CM was drawing this for the kids to enjoy for the day (this made me miss Lauren as we walked by, she ALWAYS stops to play on these boards but I’ve never seen them drawing them.
LesleysDisneyTrip178Small.jpg

We passed a TON of dance crews:
LesleysDisneyTrip179Small.jpg

It was interesting seeing all of them in their full dress and makeup , there were a lot of weird costumes. There was a place in between Canada and France that opened up (kind of behind the scenes) to reveal the big indoor arena they were dancing in. I didn’t know that existed so that was pretty cool to see.
We arrived in the beautiful gardens of Canada:
LesleysDisneyTrip180Small.jpg

We waited about 20 minutes for our table and then were seated at a nice table. I ordered a glass of wine to go with the meal (I know, I know, QUITE the theme for me this trip, but that was the IDEA of the girls trip…… right!?!) :
LesleysDisneyTrip184Small.jpg

We ordered the potato cheese soup and requested LOTS of pretzel bread YUM!!!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip181Small.jpg

Happy Diane at lunch:
LesleysDisneyTrip182Small.jpg

We both ordered the mushroom fillet, I just don’t think there is a better steak on property, I CRAVE this meal so often throughout the year and was so excited to be eating it:
LesleysDisneyTrip183Small.jpg

When it came time for desert we both were STUFFED but decided we had paid for it so we would order a little something, we both ordered some sorbet. Diane’s came with a beautiful b-day decoration on it which was a nice added touch:
LesleysDisneyTrip185Small.jpg

So after our WONDERFUL meal we rolled our way back out into World Showcase for some more adult fun.
I am going to end this update here because there is a LOT more left to this day, so STAY TUNED (Diane’s update should be right after mine, enjoy that as well!!!!)
-Lesley

Great updated Leslie :) Looks like you girls had a blast!!
That lady telling you about crashing the party!?? WHO does that??? And WHO tells total strangers about it like it was just fine for her to do? crazy...

The next morning we wanted to get a good start because it was the only day we were going to be at WDW for a full day! We quickly got dressed and headed to the concierge lounge for breakfast!

IMG_0525.jpg

IMG_0517.jpg

IMG_0518.jpg

IMG_0519.jpg

They had pastries, croissants, cereal, fruit, yogurt and a selection of teas and coffee! YUM!

IMG_0526.jpg

A happy Lesley with some juice!

IMG_0522.jpg

We finished our breakfast and made our way down to the WL bus stops! There were only a few people waiting when we first arrived and the crowd just got bigger and bigger! After quite awhile Lesley and I walked over to one of the other park bus drivers and asked what the heck was going on...he said there was a major accident and that none of the busses could get through and everyone for the Magic Kingdom was being diverted to the TTC!

So being the knowledgable Disney vets that we are, we quickly walked to the WL boat launch and grabbed a boat ride to the MK!

IMG_0532.jpg

IMG_0531.jpg

It was on this ride that we met a woman who had exactly 4,698 questions about what parks were fun...yada yada yada! Anyway she informs us that her and her family crashed the luau we saw the night before at the Grand Floridian! She said it was a party for nannies and her kids were her ticket in! So classy!!!

After we got rid of the party crasher, Lesley and I tried to strategize about the best way to get to Epcot......the monorail looked packed so we decided to take a ferry to the TTC and then monorail from there!

Here is a picture of the MOB SCENE exiting the ferry from the TTC....

IMG_0534.jpg

We had no wait and were soon on our way to the TTC!

Lesley on the boat!

IMG_0537.jpg

Another packed ferry headed to the Magic Kingdom!

IMG_0536.jpg

We got to the TTC and walked up to the Epcot monorail side and were so happy to ride the Tron monorail...this thing looks SO COOL from a distance!

IMG_0542.jpg

We finally arrived at Epcot around 10:30am! It was Flower and Garden Festival and we were happy campers!!

IMG_0545.jpg

The front was a CRAZY CROWDED MESS! We did our best to grab some pictures!

IMG_0546.jpg

IMG_0548.jpg

We finally made our way into the park and headed to grab a Soarin fastpass! We also checked out the line for Test Track and it was huge so we decided to come back!

It was then on to enjoy some of the Flower and garden displays!

IMG_0552.jpg

I never knew there was a boy Fairy!

IMG_0554.jpg

IMG_0553.jpg

IMG_0556.jpg

IMG_0557.jpg

Then we made our way into the Butterfly house!

IMG_0558.jpg

IMG_0561.jpg

IMG_0560.jpg

After our visit with the butterflies, we went to Mousegears to try and do a little souveneir shopping for our families! Matthew wanted something from Germany and Eric wanted 2 pins, a fastpass pin and a pin trading around the world pin, I didn't find anything in Mousegears but the CM behind the counter hunted high and low for trying to come up with those pins...I decided to buy 2 pins so that I could trade if I saw what Eric was looking for!

Then it was on to World Showcase!

IMG_0566.jpg

IMG_0568.jpg

IMG_0567.jpg

IMG_0563.jpg

IMG_0565.jpg

We made our way around the World Showcase, starting in Canada, taking tons of pictures along the way!

IMG_0569.jpg

IMG_0571.jpg

IMG_0572.jpg

IMG_0574.jpg

It was such a beautiful day...the topiaries were gorgeous and it was so nice just to stroll around!

IMG_0576.jpg

Once we got to France, we browsed in the shops for a bit! We also made a pitstop in the bakery....YUM!

IMG_0582.jpg

IMG_0584.jpg

We didn't buy any bakery goods because we knew we had Le Cellier coming up for lunch! We decided to just relax at the fountain in France and wait for the Server Amusant!!!

CONTINUED!

AFter sitting at the fountain for a bit, Lesley and I saw one to many grey goose slushies go by and Lesley decided it was high time we had one...so being the awesome person that she is, she went and got in line to get us one!

IMG_0587.jpg

There was a cute retired couple sitting next to us and the husband said "boy those look dangerous!" They were the CUTEST! Lesley and I both agreed that we can only hope we someday can be traveling the WS with our husbands like that in our golden years!

OMG the slushies are TO DIE FOR...so light and refreshing, I will NEVER be in the WS and not get one again!!!

After we downed...I mean sipped our drinks we wandered over to the Server Amusant show!

It was GREAT...so much fun!

IMG_0589.jpg

Lesley posted how I got involved in the show so I won't repeat that story...here are some of the amazing pictures though!

IMG_0594.jpg

IMG_0599.jpg

IMG_0595.jpg

IMG_0596.jpg

IMG_0601.jpg

IMG_0603.jpg

The show was INCREDIBLE...I can't believe he did that without a net! They were funny too!

After the show we stalked them so I could get a picture!

IMG_0605.jpg

Notice the clown in the background....Lesley was dying laughing over his camera antics!

It was the PERFECT way to end our morning! next up was Le Cellier! We made our way back through the UK and this lovely lady was doing this....

IMG_0606.jpg

Along the way we were subjected to some views of the Netherlands I never thought I'd see....

IMG_0608.jpg

UGH...pull down your microshorts ladies!

On to Canada.... YUM! We checked in early and had a bit of a wait so we just sat outside the restaurant and people watched until we were called!

Menu shot!

IMG_0610.jpg

I didn't take food shots, but we enjoyed pretzel bread, cheddar cheese soup and the yummy mushroom filet...can you say HEAVEN!!!

Lesley and I were both stuffed but went ahead and ordered dessert anyway...I ordered the sorbet and they brought it out so nicely decorated with Happy Birthday... I tried to hold it up at a good angle so Lesley could get a good picture and I almost dropped the dang thing....you can tell by the look on my face how precarious the situation was....

IMG_0612.jpg

OK take two...excuse the facial expression, the plate stayed put but I was DYING laughing!!!

IMG_0613.jpg

It was a GREAT meal!!!

Great update, ladies! I will have to go there with my sis someday for FnG.

BTW Diane, I have an Eric and a Matthew, too! Of course, I also have a James... they are all older and not into it anymore!:confused3

Right outside of Mousegears were these big bird houses that were labled with numbers and letters, I asked about them and she said they do that to keep track of the birds and their babies, I took this picture for Tim (he can’t stand birds)

Funny you noticed these too - we visit Epcot several times each year and never noticed those bird houses until our trip to the F&W Festival a few weeks ago. I wonder if they are new?

Day 2 had a great start. The pictures of the flowers are wonderful. It looks like a fun time to be at Epcot during the festival. I will need to check out the Server Amusant show in June.

Hey girls!

Great update...love the tag team approach!! Cannot believe the crowds at the MK that day....I have never seen crowds like that!!

I have decided one of these years we will definitely be taking in the Flower and Garden Festival, your pictures are fantastic

Lunch at Le Cellier.....there is nothing better is there?

Can't wait for more ladies!!!

CRAZY CROWDS on the way to the MK that was not going to be very magical that day it would seem! :scared1:

However that is not to say YOUR day at Epcot was not Magical, because it sounds just lovely and it isn't even OVER! :thumbsup2 Great photos of the show and of your sojourn in France (gotta love those Slushies!!!) and great dinner at Le Cellier! Awesome! Cant wait to hear what happens next!

Enjoyed the update!
I do believe that you girls need to be inducted into the "Slushie Lushie Club". :rotfl2:

They are soooooo good!:thumbsup2

Mmmmmmm, that mushroom fillet looked divine! So looking forward to one on our next trip!:cloud9:

However, we did try Shula's on our last trip and the steaks there were to die for! Just sayin'
:rolleyes1

love all the pictures!

I ran over and scored two Grey Goose Vodka Lemonade slushies for us and they were Y-U-M-M-Y!!!!! OMG best drinks, and such a perfect way to spend the afternoon

yummy!

Love hearing both updates..so fun

Flower and Garden Festival is the Best. We were last there for it in 2007. Need to go back. SO pretty :cutie:

WOW..those crowds looked crazy :scared1:

Monorail looks really cool :thumbsup2

Meal at LeCellier looks delicious. Have to try that one year

:wizard:

Great update! Aren't you two the smarties, catching the boat, then the ferry!

And you know how I feel about my Grey Goose Slushies! Yum!

About the Netherlands - is the curly platinum hair a requirement, or are those wigs?

Such fun stuff!

I loved F&G a couple years ago; there's so much stuff in there, you can hardly take it all in!

Your trip is going exacly how I picture our ladies trip too. So lovely!
