Disney-Aristocats-Mothers-Day-Card1.jpg

Lesley and I would like to wish all of our readers a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Enjoy your day with your families! We are hoping to update again tonight!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Loving your girls only trip report. Congrats on the upgrade at WL, looks like you both are enjoying the extra perks. Don't you just love staying at the WL, such a beautiful resort. Don't you just love the wonderful relaxing boat ride to MK? I wish you could take the boat to each and every park.:rotfl:

So happy that you both were able to experience the Flower and Garden festival at Epcot. Diane, is it your first time seeing it too? Did you see the cute Tinkerbell birdbath? I love mine.:) Your pictures of the food look so good, yum!

Thank you for sharing your trip report. It is fun to read a report with two trip reporters.:goodvibes

Happy Mothers Day to both of you.

Yowza! You miss a lot when you step away from the DIS for a while! I had no idea you lucky ladies made this trip. How awesome!!! :) I have lots that I wanted to comment on but most of all just love that you were able to take some time for yourselves and that your friendship started on the DIS. :goodvibes Looking forward to hearing more about your magical trip. And woo hoo for the upgrade to CL!!! :yay:

So after our FABULOUS lunch we waddled out into the World showcase and were once again surrounded by beautiful flower creations:
LesleysDisneyTrip186Small.jpg

We continued on with our theme of shopping. We stopped in the American pavilion and Diane scored something for Eric that I’m going to let her go into on her reply. We passed by Italy and they had Lady and the Tramp:
LesleysDisneyTrip188Small.jpg

Then we had fun shopping around in Germany. Germany had one of my favorite topiaries, the kids would have loved it!
LesleysDisneyTrip195Small.jpg

Then we entered the shops of Germany. I was on a mission to find something for Lauren and Diane was on a mission to find something for Matthew.
I found a case full of Jim Shore statues, I wish I had the money to buy all of these:
LesleysDisneyTrip187Small.jpg

Check out the price tag on this baby!!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip194Small.jpg

Tim’s mother makes Ukranian Easter eggs using a style called Psyanky (google it : ) and so Tim and I have always been interested in the egg display inside the store in Germany, well on this day the lady was there actually painting them, so that was cool:
LesleysDisneyTrip190Small.jpg

Diane found something for Matthew and I kept looking for Lauren with no luck. They had these beautiful original tiara’s but they were pretty pricey and I couldn’t decide on one and Lauren has a few tiara’s already so I decided to pass. We headed out of Germany and into China. I was SO excited when I spotted the Chinese umbrella’s. I remembered Lauren had begged for one of these in October, they were only $12.00 and they wrote your name in Chinese on it for free. S-C-O-R-E!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip196Small.jpg

Inside one of the pretty shops they were selling t-shirts with the Chinese year on them in kids sizes. I was kinda bummed I had already spent Luke’s money because I thought his was cool. Luke is the year of the snake and Lauren is the year of the Sheep and the descriptions were SO accurate of them that I had to take a picture (I’m hoping they will get these this summer):
LesleysDisneyTrip197Small.jpg

Then Diane found me and told me a CRAZY story about a family she had just encountered. She said “Lesley I just witnessed one of the strangest things!!!!” (I’ll let her go into the details of this one for ya).
We decided to head back over to Future World to use Fast Pass for Soarin’ and ride some rides. As we headed that way we passed through Mexico. Check out the construction of the new restaurant they are building:
LesleysDisneyTrip198Small.jpg

We checked out the Test Track single rider line and it was 20 minutes so we jumped in line:
LesleysDisneyTrip199Small.jpg

We were lucky enough to ride in the same car:
LesleysDisneyTrip200Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip201Small.jpg

This is one of our favorite rides so we had a GREAT time riding it:
LesleysDisneyTrip203Small.jpg

LesleysDisneyTrip202Small.jpg

After our great Test Track ride we headed over to the Land to use our Fast Passes for Soarin’.
LesleysDisneyTrip204Small.jpg

We decided to ask to wait for the center front and it was no problem, SO glad we did, I just love that view. We took in that great ride and then headed back out to the World Showcase to check out more of the booths. Look at these cute make your own Mickey topiaries:
LesleysDisneyTrip205Small.jpg

I LOVED these garden statues but they were SO heavy!
LesleysDisneyTrip206Small.jpg

I had my heart set on one of the adorable Mickey garden gnomes, they had them EVERYWHERE. I saw a picture of them last year from someone who went during Flower and Garden festival and had my heart set on one but I didn’t want to carry it around the park so I decided to wait and get it that night at the Wilderness Lodge gift shop since they had several of them there (we had seen them the night before).
By this time it was around our dinner reservation time so we headed over to Japan and shopped around in those shops. Diane and I were CRACKING up at these “camel toe” shoes : ) : )
LesleysDisneyTrip207Small.jpg

HONESTLY!?!?!?!?! What the heck!?!?!
Diane and I were ready to get our eat on again (and who am I kidding, our DRINK on!)
LesleysDisneyTrip208Small.jpg

I just love how pretty this restaurant is. I think the area when you walk in and they are making sushi is so beautiful, love how the background keeps changing colors:
LesleysDisneyTrip211Small.jpg

We were seated pretty quickly with two other families and warned the grill is 500 degrees and WERY WERY HOT!!!!
We ordered two Tokyo Sunsets- YUM YUM DOUBLE YUM!!!
LesleysDisneyTrip212Small.jpg

We were laughing because our umbrellas that came in our drinks were JACKED UP!!! So Diane turned her’s upside down and said it was a “windy sunset” : )

Our chef was very entertaining and the food was OUTSTANDING as always:
LesleysDisneyTrip213Small.jpg

Our chef was also VERY nosy. As he was cleaning the grill towards the end of the meal he pointed to Diane and I and said “you two sisters?” We said “no” he then said “where you from?” Diane said “New Jersey” and I said “Cincinnati”. He said “how did you meet?” We said “on the internet” realizing how STRANGE that sounded. We just laughed and Diane leaned over to me and said “everyone thinks we are lesbians” : )
We ordered a total of TWO rounds of Tokyo Sunsets, they were amazing, a great addition to a meal of great food and great company, here was our second round of empty glasses:
LesleysDisneyTrip214Small.jpg

After dinner we were both kinda tired, we had left the hotel bright and early and hadn’t taken a break since so we decided to skip Illuminations – we knew we’d see it in June and didn’t feel like fighting the crowds.
As we headed to the buses I realized I hadn’t taken my typical Epcot shot yet, so I looked up and took this beauty:
LesleysDisneyTrip215Small.jpg

The crowds by the front of the park had finally dispersed a bit so I was able to take a shot of the front topiaries, so pretty:
LesleysDisneyTrip216Small.jpg

When we got back to the Wilderness Lodge we headed in the gift shop because I still wanted my Mickey Garden Gnome and wanted to get a gift for Tim. I found the Mickey PJ pants for Tim and couldn’t find the gnome anywhere!?!?! I asked the lady and she said they were sold out. WHAT!!!!!!!!! I was so bummed, I played the “woe is me story” in my head for a bit thinking it was the only souvie that I wanted from this trip but snapped out of it quickly, come on LESLEY you are in DISNEY on a GIRLS weekend, you can’t play the “woe is me card” : ) I bought myself a cute pair of Mickey earrings instead (you’ll see me wearing them in the next installment).
We headed back up to our V.I.P floor for some night time treats. We were pleasantly surprised by the evening spread of deserts:
LesleysDisneyTrip218Small.jpg

I enjoyed two glasses of wine with my cookie bar:
LesleysDisneyTrip219Small.jpg

Our beds were turned down nicely for us again:
LesleysDisneyTrip220Small.jpg

We both took showers and started packing since UNFORTUNATELY our last day was tomorrow. Then I asked at the Concierge desk about paying for my suitcase, she said that if I used my laptop to check in online they wouldn’t be able to print my boarding pass downstairs so she gave me a number to call to pre pay for my bag because she said I couldn’t pay for my bag downstairs in the morning. I called the number and Airtran’s computers were down, oh well, I figured I’d worry about that in the morning. I got out my laptop and got some work done (not only am I a special education teacher full time but I teach online courses for the University of Phoenix so unfortunately even on vacation I am always with my laptop). And then we settled in with our wine and deserts and watched some t.v. and enjoyed our last night of GLORIOUS sleep on those comfy Wilderness Lodge beds.
Stay tuned, we pack a LOT into our last day (we both have LATE flights)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a great trip so far! I go to WDW once a year with a group of Disfriends....we have been CIF's since 2005 and are a very close knit group...since 2007 we have been doing annual trips together! We call ourselves "wives..." for obvious reasons!

Can't wait to read the update!

Les your June trip is fast approaching!! How are things at your school?? Boy, what a dicey year in education!! I hope all is well...20 days of school left for me!!

We took our baby to WDW in March, her first ever trip! BOY was it totally crowded...something i have never experienced before...insane crowded. We had an amazing time and rented points and stayed in a 2BR villa at SSR. We would love to buy DVC one of these days...who knows!

Bring on the upates for the girls trip!! :) FUN!

Sounds like both had a great rest of the day

The Restaurant in Japan looks so cool

Umbrella for Lauren is so cute :cutie:

That is a riot "We met on the internet, Lesbian thing"

:lmao:

The spread that night looked very yummy popcorn::

I was SO excited when I spotted the Chinese umbrella’s. I remembered Lauren had begged for one of these in October, they were only $12.00 and they wrote your name in Chinese on it for free. S-C-O-R-E!!!
LOVE that umbrella!! That would look so pretty in Shae's room.. and what a nice price too!
I had to take a picture (I’m hoping they will get these this summer)
LesleysDisneyTrip197Small.jpg
Another GREAT souvenir idea! Thanks for sharing these!!

She said “Lesley I just witnessed one of the strangest things!!!!” (I’ll let her go into the details of this one for ya).
:surfweb: Can't wait to hear about this one...

We decided to ask to wait for the center front and it was no problem, SO glad we did, I just love that view.
:thumbsup2Good for you both!! It is SO worth those extra few minutes of waiting!
Gross!!! Not only do they look stupid... they look incredibly uncomfortable!! BLAH!

We just laughed and Diane leaned over to me and said “everyone thinks we are lesbians” : )
:rotfl::rotfl: Oh my GOSH!! I just laughed so hard at this!! Hilarious!!

so we decided to skip Illuminations – we knew we’d see it in June and didn’t feel like fighting the crowds.
:scared1: You DIDN'T!!!

The crowds by the front of the park had finally dispersed a bit so I was able to take a shot of the front topiaries, so pretty:
LesleysDisneyTrip216Small.jpg
I have really enjoyed seeing all of your F&G shots!!

So after our delicious Le Cellier lunch we headed back out inot the World Showcase and were in awe of all the beautiful topiaries!

IMG_0615.jpg

We came to the American pavilion and decided to check in the gift shop there! Eric has been on a mission to find a pin that looked like a fastpass! I had looked all day at the MK the day before and all day to this point while we were in Epcot! I happened upon the store CM at the American Pavilion and
B-I-N-G-O!!! He had an Expedition Everest fastpass pin...SCORE!!! I was thrilled! I was so happy that I asked to take a picture with him!

IMG_0616.jpg

After my victory, we went back out to tour the rest of the countries and saw these cuties!

IMG_0617.jpg

Then we went to Germany and spotted this crew!

IMG_0620.jpg

IMG_0621.jpg

We browsed in the German shops as Lesley was looking for a gift for Lauren and I was looking for Matthew! I had teased Matthew and text a picture of liederhosen(sp?) to him...of course he was DEAD SET against me buying that!!! I actually ended up getting him a really nice t-shirt and leather bracelet that he loved! Lesley didn't find anything for Lauren so we continued around the WS!

Next up was China....I made my way back into the shops while Lesley went to look for an umbrella for Lauren!

IMG_0622.jpg

I made a pit stop in the restroom and then on the way out there was a man and his 2 sons tossing a football back and forth to one another OVER crowds of people...they were laughing and throwing the ball kind of hard. It was definitely distracting and hard to manuever around. Well, they ended up hitting a child in a carriage:scared1:the little girl was crying and the father of the little girl yelled "HEY" and started to get mad and then the man said to his sons "come on guys....you can't have any fun around here"...he was such a JERK!

With that bizzarre encounter over, I found Lesley again and we browsed some of the shops together! She showed you the neat t-shirts they had. I would love for Matthew and Eric to get these this summer as well because the descriptions were spot on!

Eventually we went back to Future World and took a chance in the Test Track single riders line! It worked out well!

IMG_0624.jpg

I saw this and thought of home!

IMG_0625.jpg

We lucked out and got to ride in the same car, which usually doesn't happen in the single rider line!

After our spin around the track, we went to Soarin to use our fastpasses!

IMG_0628.jpg

I just love this ride!

IMG_0631.jpg

We asked for top row center and we got it! That is the BEST experience!

CONTINUED!

So we decided it was getting close to dinner time so we made our way over to Japan for our dinner at Teppan Edo! We went into the store first as we were a bit early! Matthew LOVES Domo! I found these items and took some pictures for him!

IMG_0633.jpg

IMG_0635.jpg

Then we stumbled on these horrific looking shoes...and socks!

IMG_0636.jpg

IMG_0637.jpg

as well as these wooden "things"

IMG_0638.jpg

A few dozen laughs later, it was time for dinner!

A happy Lesley ready for dinner and drinks!

IMG_0639.jpg

then it was on to.....

IMG_0641.jpg

I LOVE THIS PLACE! We knew we would be seated with other parties but when we were being taken to our table, we were going to be sitting with a family of 3 who were VERY LARGE (I am not passing judgement, just trying to create the scene) and a father with 2 daughters and Lesley and I! I said to Lesley "hold up let everyone else go first so we could sit on the end and have more room!" It worked, we were very comfortable and it made the meal less awkward (or so I thought). Our first priority were these beauties!

IMG_0644.jpg

YUM, YUM and double YUM! The umbrella's looked like someone sat on them though!

The chef came out and reminded us about the 500 degree oven...yeah yeah we get it!!! He was funny though!

oil shaped Mickey!

IMG_0645.jpg

steamy volcano...

IMG_0646.jpg

steamy Mickey volcano....

IMG_0647.jpg

So the dad with the 2 girls was weird...I think he was WASTED! They ordered their meals from the kitchen????? Why bother with a hibachi meal? The family of 3 were just well...BORING! Lesley and I just had fun drinking our Tokyo sunsets and laughing at our jacked up umbrella's and enjoying our delicious meal! At the end of the meal the chef DEFINITELY thought we were lesbians al though Lesley made a point of saying that we left our families home, I don't thing they bought it! Oh well!!!

After our great meal, we were both tired from a long day so we skipped Illuminations knowing that we would see it in June and tooke the boat back across the WS lagoon....

IMG_0648.jpg

We got a bus fairly quickly to the WL and grabbed some goodies from the lounge...

IMG_0649.jpg

We then went to our room and saw the lovely turndown service for the last time....showered watched a little TV and slept one more night with Disney dreams!

Coming up next......

PERSONAL SPACE!!!!!

Next update is here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2454788&page=14

The meal at Japanese place looked so cool.

If Trent was not so picky, we would check that out for sure :goodvibes

That is crazy about the father and his football catch :scared1:

Those shoes and socks were so crazy looking

Our chef was very entertaining and the food was OUTSTANDING as always:

We loved eating at Teppan Edo when I went with my ex-BFF in late January 2008. It's weird that we got the same reaction when we ate dinner there plus a couple of other places when a couple of CM's asked if we were sisters and when we said we were friends, they gave us a funny look :confused3 I said the same thing to her that people must have that same thought at the dinner table. :rotfl:

I got out my laptop and got some work done (not only am I a special education teacher full time but I teach online courses for the University of Phoenix so unfortunately even on vacation I am always with my laptop).

What a strange and coincidental world! I am taking online courses through University of Phoenix! (working my way to earn an Associates in Hospitality/Travel/Tourism plus my Business Management degree) I absolutely LOVE UoP's online classes!!

I hope you have good news that you were able to get your gnome after all!

Oh I just love all the drink pics along the way today! From the slushies to the sunsets! And of course the empty glasses!! :lmao: That is TOOOOOOO much that he thought you were a couple (yeah, meeting on the internet, probably not the best explanation!! :rotfl:-- but it is even better than funny because it is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Perfect. Only on the DIS! The topiaries are just darling! Wonderful shots and I just love love love those tshirts in the shop in China, very cute, I will take a look at those this summer! Thanks for the shopping lead! ;) What a great way to end the evening, with Disney dessert treats and wine. Good grief, you girls were spoiled appropriately! Looking forward to your final day!

Happy Mother's day!

I love the Chinese umbrella, and $12 is a steal.

Thanks for the updates.
