Lens Size at the Kingdom

I am curious if Disney World has a lens size restriction at the parks. I just purchased a 70-300mm lens and wanted to know if that would be ok to take into the parks.

I wouldn't say that is considered a huge lens and you would be fine taking it into the parks. The 70-200 F2.8 is a much bigger lens than the 70-300 and is a popular lens for the parks for various reasons.

In short, you will have no problems with it :)

I just took my 70-300mm with me. No problem at all. I only took it to AK and HS though, didn't take it to Epcot or MK and didn't miss it there at all. At AK I used it for animal shots, at HS for the shows.

I was just at Animal Kingdom with my 80-400mm and I had no problems bringing it inside the park.

Biggest problem with a camera bag at the park is sweat stains and permanent wrinkles ;)

I routinely brought a camera bag big enough to hold two bodies, multiple lenses, a flash, and other items. Security routinely looked through my camera bag and there were no issues.

Never had an issue with my camera bag either. They seem to treat them just like any other bag of contents for the parks. I do ensure that my bag is very neatly packed in the morning for bag check so that there is no need to have to move, shift or unpack anything while they are inspecting. Although I pack my things carefully, by the end of a park day they are not necessarily neatly packed in there :rotfl:

I never had a problem with my camera bag either.... except for one time at International Gateway where the security guard wanted to look into every lens pouch I had in my bag (3 total) and wanted me to open the tripod cover as well. It just took time and I guess she only did it cause she was bored (no one else in line besides me and when I came there was no one at security either). Every other time I entered the park, I just said there were lenses in the pouches and that was that. No one ever wanted to look inside.

Maybe the guard was a photo enthusiast?

I've never had them look in the lens pouches. It's pretty obvious by weight and shape what they are.

I had another guard comment on my camera equipment at International Gateway but that guard I think was clearly bored and wanted something to do. She didn't quite get what I meant when I said there was a lens in the small pouch (the 50mm prime which really is small) - that's when she wanted me to open them all.
