Length of time to get something from shopdisney.com?

Hi all,

I ordered my son’s Halloween costume from shop Disney.com on 10/7.

On 10/14, I got notification that it had shipped. However, when I check tracking, it says “Shipment ready for UPS.” Like, it looks like they created the shipping label, but no further progress has been made.

My son’s birthday party is this weekend (immediate family only), but it’s a costume party and I’m really losing hope that we’ll have the costume in time.

Is this typical? I know there have been some problems with the mail lately, but I’ve been ordering stuff from all over the place and haven’t had problems getting things in a timely manner, or at least being able to see where they are via tracking.

I’m not mad, I just want to see if my experience is in line with what’s typical.

For me, it usually takes about 2 weeks from order, but sometimes it takes longer to ship.
I have had the Shipment Ready for UPS.......sometimes it changes, usually 4-5 days later, but sometimes, the items just so up with no update on tracking

Disney's shipping can be frustratingly slow, but that seems like a long time to be in "ready for UPS" limbo. My last order I placed on 9/17 and they did say it could take 2-3 weeks to get to me. It wound up being delivered on 9/26 a few hours after we left to drive to WDW. The masks I ordered juuuust missed me.

That gives me a small amount of hope! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks from order for me.

So slow!! It took a month for one order, but only 10 days for another, both placed last month. I also realized what a terrible return policy they have (spoiled by Amazon lol).

My order placed Oct 14.....part of it is supposed to be delivered Thursday.
The rest is still waiting to ship

In my experience ShopDisney's shipping time has always taken longer than other merchants. And the time seems to have increased this year. But it's variable and depends on where the item is coming from.

On recent ShopDisney order confirmation emails it states shipping is "Currently 2-3 weeks, unless otherwise noted." I'm noticing there's typically a week delay or more before they even ship my order.

Not counting an order that was mis-shipped recently (not Disney's fault, it was the USPS), below are my recent ShopDisney experiences since the pandemic (excluding pre-orders).

(1) Order placed 8/24. Two items.

• (a) First item shipped on 8/31, received 9/4 (via UPS Mail Innovations, meaning USPS does final delivery).
• (b) Second item on order shipped on 9/11, received 9/16 (also UPS Mail Innovations).

Total time to receive items: 9 business days for first item, 16 business days for second item.

(2) Order placed on 9/4. Items shipped on 9/10, received 9/12 (via UPS ground). Total time 5 business days.

I saw that too, which is why I’m not mad (just a little disappointed). It just feels like 6 days is a long time to be sitting in the “Shipment ready for UPS” status. I got all excited last Wednesday when I saw that it had shipped, but the status hasn’t budged.

i agree with you, that does sound too long. I think it took a couple days for some of my orders to actually make it to the shipper, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call. It sounds like Disney is still holding onto your order.

UPS tracking is behaving strangely lately with Shop Disney, Amazon, and other merchants. We've had several packages go missing -- usually in the handoff from UPS to USPS -- and the one carrier always blames the other. And we've had 2 "lost" UPS packages just show up very late out of nowhere, after the replacements had arrived. Go figure. With Shop Disney, most packages are taking about 2 weeks, but one or two orders have shipped very quickly.

I’ve noticed they normally take 1-2 weeks to actually ship it.

I checked this morning, and it looks like my order finally actually shipped.

So far, in total, it was 1 week from the time I ordered until the shipping label was created, and another 6 days until the package actually shipped.

I’m not sure why Disney’s shipping timeline seems so much longer than other merchants. Oh well. We won’t have it in time for the party, but at least it looks like we’ll have it for Halloween.

This is why I rarely use shopDisney. It takes FOREVER to receive my merchandise...2-3 weeks on average
