DH and I were wondering what is the max number of days for a campsite you can book at the fort and how long after that stay can you come back for another max day stay?

We saw some campers that appear to have retired there and would love to do the same. Just wondering how that would work out with the number of days we could book and then have to rebook after a period of time.

30 day increments, but you can book back to back to back...etc.

1) The phrase, should be "you can TRY to book back-to-back-to back".
2) I know lots of retirees that could not get consecutive rental periods.
3) They had to break-camp and go elsewhere, then come back later.
4) In some cases, they broke camp at one FW site and moved to another FW site.

Just wondering if any discount is given if you book in 30 day increments? I know other campgrounds give discounts for long term, but I am thinking probably not at the Fort. Am I right on this.

There is no discount for long-term camping other than what you might get anyway with AAA, Annual Pass, etc. Almost a decade ago there was a long-term winter discount called the "Settler's Rate" or "Settler's Discount" but it was discontinued because Disney realized they didn't need to offer it to get the snowbirds and other long-term folks.

If you book early enough you can get the same level of site back-to-back. Just think - no utility bills, no property tax, at least 6 months there makes you a Florida resident I believe. Not a whole lot of space, either but life is a tradeoff.

Wonder how is the best way these retires book? Is it best thru online or at the front desk once your next month booking period opens up to book so you can try and stay at the fort without having to leave for a period of time. Guessing you would have it noted what site your at so they can try and keep you on that same site.

Now if you wanted to work at WDW while living at FW you could get a CM rate (possibly not during the busiest days) and you would get your park admission for free.
