Hi,

Usually stay at my home OKW. Decided to have a change this time so stopping at POR for 2 weeks.

I normally have length of stay passes but wondered what other members do? Would a 10 day hopper be as good?

Do I still get a discount for passes if not staying at my home resort?

Open to suggestions , let me know what you think.

Thanks:)

I believe the discount is for length of stay when you stay at DVC properties only.

Have you thought of a Fun in the Sun ticket ? This works out cheaper than a 10 day hopper and includes more. It last for 30 days from first use and includes all the parks, water parks, DQ, PI etc. Also you get a free character breakfast and entry to KSC.

You can buy them through Paramount travel and the cost $311 and $251(child). Email Rosa - rosa@pit-email.com The web site is www.gopitravel.com Lots of people have used them, we used them last holiday and on our next. Search the boards for more info.

If you're staying for two weeks, LOS would be an expensive option.

The general rule of thumb is that an AP becomes 'cost-effective' (compared to a LOS) after 8 days. Of course, that wouldn't include the water parks, so may not be the best for you. The Premium AP would include the 'extras', but is more expensive and may not be a better bet than the LOS. If you're booking the accommodation separately (i.e. not a package deal) you may get a good discount on POR with an AP, making it worthwhile for that and other discounts alone (and don't forget you only need the person making the room reservation to be an AP holder if you don't all want one)!

The 10 day pass would be another good option, IMHO, as long as you were already planning some days out of the WDW parks. I haven't used the 30 day FITS pass myself but, as DisneyBB says, others have found it very cost-effective. There are usually restrictions on the times these special passes are available for use, so you'd need to check.

Thanks both.

DisneyBB, had a look on the site but FITS pass didn't seem to appear in the ticket section, am I looking in the wrong area?
Does it allow un limited access to PI?
Still a newbie, so any ideas where abouts to search for more info on the boards?

Hilary, taking new DG, so planning on doing IOA, US, SW & KSC, so thinking of maybe doing 10 day hopper and additional combination ticket for the above

Thanks:bounce:

Hi Kerplunk. The fun in the sun passes are not advertised very widely as a rule as they are not really for sale in the US, but there is a lot of info about them on this thread. We used these tickets in May and found they worked really well.

You get unlimited entry to PI for 30 days from when the pass is first used, as well as the water parks and Disneyquest (plus the theme parks of course :D). If you're considering a trip to KSC anyway they almost certainly would work as the most cost effective option.

Also don't forget the value of the Character breakfast. You get to choose from a wide range of venues. When our tickets came it stated that it now includes Cinderellas castle! These tickets do expire and the current ones for sale will expire in May 05. If you are planning a holiday after that then you should ask when the next batch of tickets will be available.
