DS9 wants to go to Legoland this trip and stay onsite. Any tips on getting the best price? I've looked at the LL website and there's a 20% advance purchase promo but NOT for the dates we want to go (first week of April). Also the cancellation policy is very strict. Anyone stay at the hotel and feel it was worth the $$? We are at WDW for the rest of the trip--I was planning one night stay near LL for DS till I saw the prices.
TIA!!

The answer is Drive to Legoland ..... about 45 min to an hour drive .... very easy drive.

Plenty to see on the way & many good places for food afterwards.

We had some friends who stayed there and enjoyed it. You do get a full breakfast buffet, but there is also a $20 resort fee.

This is a smaller hotel and they seem to adjust the prices quite a bit based on demand -- or what they think demand will be. This is peak season and a ways off, so at this point they don't have any reason to offer a deal.

Since price is a concern, I would just plan on staying elsewhere and keep checking back to see if the prices fall.

We did not stay at the hotel but saw it during our visit to Legoland last October. It is a really small hotel with a small pool. I think the rooms would be cool but that's it.

Thanks everyone! I just found a good rate for our dates, but am a little concerned about the comments small hotel and pool! Can anyone offer a frame of reference to one of the WDW resorts? For example, is it the size of one Pop building and the Hippy Dippy Pool? Hard to tell from the pictures and descriptions. Trying to decide if we do one or two nights, with late arrival day 1 (enjoy hotel), then LL for day 2, then leave morning day 3 (I found basically same price as a value resort at WDW). TIA

May I ask where you found such a great rate for Legoland Hotel. Would love to stay for 1 night on our upcoming trip, but the prices are crazy

Not sure about the rules if I can post the website link...I found the rate through a popular "trip" review website and "advise" you to look up legoland hotel in florida for your trip date! Good luck!

Ha ha! Nice!

So I would say the pool is the same size you would find at a Hampton Inn or other 3 star hotel. It's nothing exciting. I haven't stayed at a value resort in a while but I don't think the legoland hotel is bigger than one of the buildings at All Star Movies. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That said, if you found a great deal it's doesn't matter. I think the themed rooms would be awesome to experience. Have fun!

Disney's Pop Century resort has 2,880 room spread across 10 buildings. The Legoland hotel has 152 rooms in one building. For comparison, here are satellite images (courtesy of Bing) at the same scale. The Legoland hotel is not finished but the pool outline is clear.

We stayed at the LL hotel for 2 nights last October.
My thoughts:
- Very small hotel. It's one L shaped building with 5 floors.
- Pool is very small and not really themed. They had some foam Lego blocks floating around the pool, and those were fun to play with.
- We stayed during the fall and LL is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We stayed on both those nights and got cheaper rates as a result, I believe $175 for a Kingdom room and $250 for a Friends room. This is expensive compared to the Disney Values ($95).
- Kingdom room was nice, Friends room was horrible. There are only 6-7 Friends rooms in the hotel and it seems they picked the worst rooms, put in a Friends theme and jacked up the prices since they are in such high demand. We were on the second floor, right outside of the elevators so it was very noisy. Also, our "view" was of the roof and 3/4 of the window was covered with some Friends decal.
- There is a $20 daily resort fee.
- "Free" breakfast at the hotel restaurant was quite good.
- Juice boxes, small Lego toy (Mixels), and a magazine in the safe for the kids. Small bottles of water, Keurig, small fridge in the room.
- Small discount (10-15%) if you have an annual pass.

Overall, it was something worth experiencing one time but we felt it was overpriced and not worth it. We'll still visit LL, but will stick with Disney hotels. Hope this helps.

I appreciate everyone's input! I checked the park hours and LL WP is closed one of the days-- ok since we had a poor experience there our one visit. Since WP is closed the rate is ~ $150 per night inclusive of taxes and resort fees so a little higher than Pop for the dates with a discount but not much. Sounds like we will try it once for the kiddos! Thanks again!
