Just an FYI, our Toys R Us has had one set of the new Aquatica Legos that aren't supposed to come out until January. It was some type of red ship that shoots the little darts. I picked one up for my DS ($25) figuring that it was something that I know he hasn't seen before (from Santa). They're not even on the Lego website yet.

How old do you think kids should be for the Lego Brickmaster thing? My son will be 5 in February. Is he too young? He already LOVES legos and is collecting the City and Power Miners stuff (which, like Space Police, had a few new kits show up the other day -- grrr....).

How old do you think kids should be for the Lego Brickmaster thing? My son will be 5 in February. Is he too young? He already LOVES legos and is collecting the City and Power Miners stuff (which, like Space Police, had a few new kits show up the other day -- grrr....).

I think it depends on the child. I think most of the kits are geared towards ages 7+, but if he is already doing some of the comparable sets he would be okay.

We had a Lego b-day party for my son when he turned 7 and most of his friends were 6-7 and we got mini sets to put together at the party that were for ages 6+. Some of the younger kids who love Legos got them together with no problem, but if kids aren't used to following the directions they were baffled! LOL

We love the Brickmaster magazine. Also Target has some great stocking stuffer legos. There are 3 different Star Wars sets and 2 Lego racer sets. They are $2.99 or maybe a little bit more. I did pickup a couple of sets on clearance at Target last week. This Target by my workplace always clearances their legos and the Target by my house still has them at full price.

There are a couple large sets on sale on BF.

I am also hoping that the lego site has a discount on BF. I have read rumors that they have in the past. Right now they have free shipping on $99 and over. If anyone knows of any discounts in the past on the Lego site let me know. Thanks.

We were also at TRU this weekend and they had quite a few new sets out. My husband was really surprised. I think that he likes the legos more than my son.

I was at our local Kmart this afternoon and scoped out the very thin selection. I wrote down every set they had and then went home and casually sat down with DS8 with the Lego catalog to see if any of his "likes" were at Kmart. There were a few, so I will be busting my butt off to get to the Lego section as soon as it opens! I will go to the Lego section first and then go to the Wii game section as I would rather have the Legos. Although I sure would like a copy of the Lego Wii game for 14.99...

Micheal's coupons do not apply to books....which is a shame. They have some nice American girl books and book/craft/hair kits too.

Our Kmart's stock is so thin that it isn't even worth my while to go. They only have the most basic sets. I want the big Star Wars sets, Creator or Technic. They never have those at my store.

We also signed up on Lego Brickmaster. Purchased in October and have 2 sets ready for under the tree. I did most of my shopping on-line or at WDW during our Sept trip. Things are really under control, but I'm having to resist that urge for last-minute stuff.

If you like lego's go to AMAZON.com everyday. They change the prices all of the time, but they always have great lego deals. A big perk is free shipping and no sales tax. I just purchased a $250 set for $214. The have several just released sets always on sale. You just have to keep checking. They had the $99 set for $79. The even go lower(many times 40%) Target has some sets on sale right now, but with shipping and tax, the Amazon sales were better for me. Good luck!!

Staubinst- your Target had the mini Lego Star Wars sets in the stocking stuffer section? Drat!!! Mine only has the Lego Racers, I really wish mine had the Star Wars, I'd get them as thank you gifts for the kids at my son's Lego Star Wars party, plus some for his stocking. Wonder if they might get some more in?

My Target had the racers as well, no Star Wars sets. I will keep checking. My DS7 has 4 big sets under the tree, but I am still looking for little sets.

i wonder if the smaller sets sold out? Mine had them with the racer sets in the stocking stuffer area. but another store didn't even have a stocking stuffer area!

I always have to remind people of this....only states with no physical presence of the company have no sales tax. The states that have call centers or the HQ or distribution centers DO have sales tax.

Let me explain that a little better...if you are shipping an order to a state that has a physical presence, you will be charged that state's tax. So if we order for ourselves, we get the 9+$ sales tax for WA. If I ship it to WV, we'll be charged WV's tax (if there's still a call center there). And so on.

I got a wonderful customer service rep and she has pulled 15 for me and has them at the front desk. She said they have 3- mini Torrent, mini Tie Fighter and mini Star Fighter, are those the same ones your Target had?

For the older kids - NOt sure if this was posted already, but regularly $99, I got the Emerald Train on Amazon for just over $88. I guess nearly 12% off isn't too bad. And I love no tax and free shipping.

Just recieved and email from lego.com. They will have $10 off a $100 purchase, $20 off $200 purchase, and $30 off a pruchase of $300 or more. I think that it ran Nov 27-30. It also said that they would have new items in the sale and deal part of their website on the 27th.
