Lego City Mining Set $39.97 @ Walmart

Thanks OP!

There were two left. They were marked $89, as was the shelf tag.I'm glad you posted this because I wouldn't have even checked the price otherwise.

Thanks OP!

All three of my boys have really gotten into Legos in the past year and this price is great. I do not get the paper so no ads and online said my store was out. I tried to find an ad from a friends paper to price match at Target but could not find one. I stopped at Walmart to get an ad, which I could not find anywhere in the store. But I happened to look at the toys just in case. They had one left, pushed all the way to the back. It was regular priced but came up the sale price at the register.:cool1:

Thank you OP!! :cool1:

My DS just noticed this set in his new Lego magazine and naturally when he saw the price of $89.99 he knew it wasn't likely to happen, nor did he have enough saved up for it!

My DH was able to run into Walmart on his way to work and they had several in stock so he grabbed one and had no problem. :thumbsup2

I hope other Lego fans are able to find this great deal!

Another Xmas present done!! :yay:

Thanks again, :goodvibes

So I rushed to a nearby Walmart this morning which showed the Lego Set was in "Limited Stock" via online. When I got there the gruff guy working in the Lego area said "we have never had them".....then whey does your online store say "limited stock?" I say. His reply was that the online store and the actual store are entirely separate entities, Really????:scratchin

So I go to customer service and get the same song and dance. I really think they pulled them from the shelves.

I then headed to a Walmart that was actually closer to my house (even though that store said they were "out of stock" online). I asked a young girl who worked there if I could have a "rain check" and she looked at me like I asked the most stupidest ? EVER!!:headache: Apparently they never issue rain checks but how would I know....I have never before asked for one. I was then so mad, I reported her to the Customer Service person at the front...at least he seemed concerned that she was speaking to customers that way but could do nothing for me relative to the Lego sets other than to tell me that their store has 4 on order and to call each morning.....

In between I checked out two Target's nearby and neither had them instock but at least they confirmed that they would have price matched if in fact they had them in stock. And they also took the time to check their inventory for me in a very pleasant manner.

I never really understood why Walmart has such a bad reputation but now I do.

Do you have to go to the customer service desk to price match, or can you do it at a regular register?

My Target price matches at the register. I just went and got mine after seeing this thread. Thanks! Clerk was a little shell shocked at the price difference, but adjusted it no problem.

I just purchased the set at Target. I did have to go to the customer service counter to do the price match. The clerk did raise her eyebrows at the price difference and made a mgr come over to check it out. She pleasantly checked the dates on the circular and said to go ahead :). I guess I was the first or only person to take advange of this deal so far at that store :confused3. If it is a price error, why would Walmart not immediately change the price in their system?

This is exactly what just happened to me @ Target minus the service desk. They had a manager come to the register & go over it with a fine tooth comb. All is good in the end.

I grabbed the last one at our Target, and other than the clerk doing a double-take, I had no problems with them price matching. She did ask another girl to come over and look at the ad, but after pointing out to them that it was in fact the same exact lego set, they price-adjusted with no issue.

I forgot to mention the clerk I had told me she needed to keep the ad. I had a feeling she might plan to go do a little of her own price matching when she had a break! I didn't mind and gave her my copy.

I did not have to hand mine over :confused3. I did get the last set on the shelf :).

I got one at Walmart today and pointed out the deal to another Mom in the aisle who picked one up. We left one on the shelf. The price rang up the ad price at checkout. I got the same cashier as the other Mom who thought it was a great deal and had no questions.

Thanks Op!!

I went to Walmart today and they gave me a price adjustment from when I paid the $89 for it. The guy even said you just saved $54 in a honorable tone!! No hassle what so ever. I checked the lego section just to see if they had any and nope they were gone. Either they pulled them or people caught on to the mistake?

Just an FYI, was at another Walmart tonight and they were all pulled from the shelves with a sign reading that the sets were incorrectly priced in the ad and sorry for the inconvenience!

There are people in my area (cincinnati, OH) that are reselling these on Craigslist...for $65 and $85...so I added a posting, location = Walmart for $40. It was the guy selling for $85, price firm that just bugged me...I added on the listing that they could bring the Walmart ad to Target.

We'll see if all Walmarts follow suit, or if the pulling from the shelves/note is company wide.

Went to my local Walmart today. They didn't have any, didn't even get them in. A very nice associate saw me looking and offered to see if another store had any nearby, no such luck. Went to Fred Meyer with my ad and they price matched it for me. There it was $99.99 (because that penny makes all the difference in the world). They did ask if they could keep my ad, so they could show management what they price adjusted for and how much ($60). Was no big deal to me, I was already done with it. The cashier was very impressed!

Only crummy thing was I wanted to put it in layaway at Walmart, instead had to pay for it all today.

Man, I didn't get a Wal-Mart add in our paper yesterday so I didn't even realize this and this is one of my son's big wishes this year. I'm going to run by there tomorrow and give it a shot or at least get the add and try to price match somewhere!

Thank you so much, OP. I went to my local Walmart and they didn't have any in stock, so I got an ad and took it to Target for the price match. Our Target had four in stock and I picked up two - one for a birthday or Christmas present for the boy that I take care of and one for the parents of one of his classmates that I know will repay me.

I had to go to the service desk to get the price match and the clerk just looked it over and said that the ad had to show the number of the lego set and she looked closely at the ad and said yes, the numbers match. She rang it up and made sure to tell me that if I used my Target Visa, I could save an extra 5% off the price and she even returned my ad to me.

I ended up going back out and getting a third set after I picked up my charges from school, for a teacher that runs an after-school "Lego Club" during the winter. When I returned the same clerk was there, along with a younger clerk and she had no problem showing the girl that it was a price match and that everything matched because she had sold two earlier. I started freaking out a little because I thought she might give my "secret" away, but after a quick finger to my lips, she recovered quickly and said two other people had bought them.:rotfl2:

Thank you OP.

Our Walmart didn't have any (either sold out or pulled from the shelf) so I took the ad to Target after having hubby call to see if they had one and would price match the ad. They said they would and even got one off the shelf to hold for me to pick up. They were very nice about it at Target. =)

Thanks for the heads up. I had to drive about 15 minutes, each way, to find one that had them in stock, but this was on my son's list, too and worth it to save almost $60. Great find!
