VDH Questions for Purchasing

i know the 200 isnt smart for me. My wife keeps bringing up that she wants to go to big bear and other places besides Disney. I wish she would stop.

If you are buying when full UY 2025 points are given absolutely dues free… KEEP THEM.

450? Are you looking at borrowing already? Instead book off the free banked 2025 points for 2026 stays. (No need to go too lavish). Bank whatever 2026 points don’t get used, then do this the same way for the 2027 UY.

It will take a couple years to get back on level ground & need to borrow.

I think the fact that VDH is a restricted resort and all of the rest of your points are resale is a factor. Points that can be spent at VDH are at a premium for you, and this makes me feel like you should keep the points.

Another thing to think about… will you pay the loan or use it as fun money. If fun money maybe best to keep the points for a rainy day.

A person not using your credit card would tell you not to go with MB. Already saved over $1500 on that purchase without the dues payment. Keep the bonus points and howl at the moon.

Wow I'm late to this party. We love VDH. Back in the late eighties and nineties we would vacation at DLR and stay at the Disneyland Hotel, so VDH is pretty nostalgic for us.

We have 150 direct VDH points and 208 VGC. We almost always go to DLR for 7 nights and WDW for 15 or nights all in a 1 or 2 bedroom villa. All in all 150 VDH points seems a bit tight, we usually play bank and borrow games at VDH. Especially since getting into VDH at 7 months is near impossible. You really need the full 11 months. The same at VGC.

That being said, We are really thinking about selling our VDH and buy more VGC Since we stay in a 1 BR, the TOT is a real killer at VDH. It really just twists my undies to pay it. I know that we would lose on the sale of VDH, but more at VGC would make up for it.

At the end of the day the points weather sold to Disney or not will hold a minimum value of around $20 so doing MB or not isn’t a huge deal breaker either way.

I can just pretend that it cost $228 and did MB and brought it down to $208

I think in the long term id be totally fine with 150 points and just stay one night or two max. If I like the duo studio that could go a little far
