Lego City Mining Set $39.97 @ Walmart

I just went to my Walmart and she said they do not give rainchecks.

If you look on the back of the Wal-Mart ad, in the fine print it specifically states that they will give rain checks for items that are not in stock!

Most WM employees are not informed enough to know about their own raincheck policy. Go to customer service and ask for the raincheck. If they aren't helpful ask for their supervisor.

My hubs was denied a raincheck from Walmart yesterday (Customer Service desk said they don't issue rainchecks). So I called around and finally found one at Target and they held it for me for a couple of hours until I could get there. It took 2 managers to verify and do the price check/match (I heard them mumbling something under their breath about it being a misprint in the ad, but since Walmart was honoring it, they would have to as well).

Big thanks to the OP for posting this! I will have a VERY happy 7 year old this Christmas! (my Christmas budget is $50 per child...so this is HUGE)

I tried. I told her another Walmart gave someone a raincheck. She didn't care. I was annoyed with her so I left. I sent an email to Walmart so we'll see if anything comes of it. I might try checking a couple of other Targets and Walmarts this weekend.

Just got 2 sets at Target price matched. It took an override from a higher level manager, but they didn't give me a hard time about it at all.

My Walmart wouldn't give a rain check either. The manager said they don't give them unless it's specifically from a company (example-toilet paper on sale & Charmin will give rain check). They apologized & were super nice. It must depend on the store.

Finally found one at my target but they were told by their manager not to price match this weeks Walmart ad, and of course they weren't there for me to talk to. So frustrating.

I was able to find 2 t my walmart today. My husband thought i was crazy as my son is 15 and does not want legos! I told him the great deal it was and that i was sure someone i knew would take them off of my hands for me. Now if i could just find a good deal on something i need from my christmas list that would be great!

My local Target was out, went to Walmart and they were out and would not give a rain check. They said they only give rain checks on Roll back prices, not sale items. It's frustrating that they are so inconsistent. They were nice though and called 2 other nearby Walmart stores but they were both out also. Oh well.

FYI, I sent an email to Walmart b/c they cancelled my order for pickup twice and then when I went to the store, they said no rainchecks.

I sent an email just stating that someone at another Walmart got a raincheck and why does the policy vary store to store.

I received a phone call yesterday from a Walmart manager at my local store. She claims I can go in anytime this lego set is available and still get that price and she gave me her name. So, we will see.........

She also said they do not have any raincheck forms that she is aware of. She said if I found out the store that gave the raincheck, she'd be happy to call and find out what form they use for the raincheck.

I'm still not confident I'll get this lego set at the $39 price, but we shall see. If they ever stock the set again!

I went to 2 different WalMarts last week to try to find this set, as my 5 year old is just getting into Lego stuff. The first one was really nasty, said they didn't have it, and wouldn't rain check it. The other store was great, said their computer system said there was still one in the store, and went all over the place until they finally found it out back. The manager was really nice and helpful, and had told me if they couldn't find the set, they'd either give me a rain check, or price adjust another set of similar value (since their computer said they had the set).

It was strange how different the two stores were. I think you can guess which store will get my business from now on

which one was it? I am right near the NH border. I got a raincheck on a post it They first said they dont issue them so I showed them the back of the flyer. Then they said its not on sale It took a little while but they finally issued the official raincheck on a post it.. I had two managers sign it so we will see.

I'm in Latrobe, PA - I got a raincheck and they had a photocopied form that they put some info in if you want to pass that along but don't know if it would be a problem being so far away.

WooHoo!!!!!! Our Walmart finally got them back in stock today! My neighbor texted me this morning and told me there were 2 on the shelf so I sent DH up and he got the last one! They honored the raincheck no problem!!!!

So now I get to return the one I bought full price at Target!
