Lego Cinderella Castle

So my daughter turns 16 this summer and we are supposed to go to DW with her best friend to celebrate. Obviously, it does not appear that we will be going to the parks anytime soon. So for her actual birthday, she really wants the Lego Cinderella Castle. I went to Disney Shopping and Lego store to purchase and both are sold out. Does anyone know of other places that sell it or if it frequently goes in and out of stock? Not looking to spend Ebay pricing...this is already a splurge. Thank you for any help ahead of time.

Right now, Lego is suffering the same problems as puzzles, board games, etc. Too much demand, workforce cut or closed due to social distancing, and supply chain interruptions. They've been out of stock on lots of sets for a while now on their site, and places like WalMart, Amazon, etc. are out, too. That said, the castle isn't slated to retire this year, so it should be back. The only question is when. Contact Lego using their site. They're usually very good about giving estimates on restocks, at least in the pre covid era they were. Things may be so messed up right now that they don't know.

And you're smart not to pay ebay prices right now. The increased demand is leading to some crazy pricing on reseller sites, even for sets that aren't already retired and will be back at some point. If you overpay for it now, you'll really regret it when Lego restocks at retail pricing.

Thank you so much for your insight. I have sent an email to both Disney and Lego. I am very happy to hear that it is not retired. We are in NY where it is really locked down, maybe once things ease up on the 15th I can get it shipped from a local store. Definitely not the birthday experience any of us are used to this year.

This lousy virus robbed my daughter of her sweet 16 in wdw. We had everything planned perfectly and had all the fast passes
we wanted and then poof it was gone. We are locked up in NY as well.
I hope you find it and get it for her. My son assembled it a few years ago. Def would be a good time killer these days!
I hope you are able to enjoy a celebration at home. We made the best of it and it actually turned out ok. Was not WDW, but what else is

I can certainly relate. My daughter's birthday is this Sunday and she wanted the bookstore from Lego. It was sold out for the longest time. I check everyday, sometimes several times a day. Then it changed from sold out to backordered. The backorder was way past her birthday but I purchased anyway. I thought at least I'd have something eventually. Then I get an email that it's been shipped! I ordered mid April and it wasn't to be in stock until end of May. So...you never know. Keep checking their website. My daughter is a huge Lego fan and she's so good at it. She's built all the really difficult stuff since a young age and it's the one toy I don't mind buying. We did banners, my wife ordered a small helium tank and balloons. We ordered a cake from a local bakery. We did a family zoom call/happy bday sing along. I made her a special video with all pictures of her set to music. We had 1 hiccup: she wanted take out from her fave Chinese restaurant but they were closed due to somebody there getting covid. She actually laughed it off and we got Italian instead. We all wore special Disney sweet 16 shirts my wife got from Etsy. I was proud of how she handled it. She appreciated we tried. Looks like you got your castle so you are on your way!

Webrebooked to end of August and are hoping for the best. If it gets cancelled again it will hurt way less. We already did not get to spend her bday there. Gives us something to plan and look forward to anyway

No problem! Good luck. Sorry I thought you had it. 700 is crazy. I see something called vstores has it for 300. Think that is retail. No idea if the site is legit. gotta be careful with those sites. My wife got ripped off a couple of christmases ago on a Nintendo switch. But maybe check em out.

Pretty much, although people tend to be a little closer to reality there than on ebay, price-wise. Sometimes, anyway. Most sellers are very nice and willing to work with you.

It's not the greatest interface, but if you look around, you can find the way to filter so that you only see sellers in the USA, and/or international sellers willing to ship to the US. Shipping can be a killer, esp. on a huge set like the castle. You can also filter by new or used, and there are some sellers who are willing to ship without the box to lower your shipping costs. Some will list this outright, others will do it if you ask. Make sure you read any listing closely. Some sell just boxes, so make sure it's the set they're selling. Other sell without the minifigures. Just make sure that you're getting a new, sealed set, or a complete used set if you go that route.
