Alright, it's taken quite a while, but I've been put out of work due to the economy, and have only 7 weeks left of my pregnancy... Finances are TIGHT! I am looking for something that I can do from home for the next few weeks, and then starting a few days after I have the baby so there will be money coming into our household. We felt we had made it through the worst of the economic storm, so 5 months ago, with mortgage rates being so low, we bought a new house, then got a confirmation of pregnancy with child #2... I'm totally strapped right now- and need to be able to help my family get through this without relying on family for money.

I would greatly appreciate any information on any work that can be done from my own home office for a LEGITIMATE company that anyone can offer. Medical bills are going to start racking up, and we may wind up falling behind in monthly bills sooner than later if I can't find something and fast. I greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thank you and God Bless!

I'm not sure if we can post links in here or not but perform a search on Google for "Leapforce at home". They are a legit company that pays you to evaluate links via the web. You will need to apply for the position and if excepted you will be give 2 test that you will need to pass (don't worry if you read the study material it's not hard).

The only downside is the 2 tests can take up to 7 hours. If you pass both tests they will pay you about $150. I passed the test and thought this would be a great job for my younger brother but he wasn't interested and my account was finally terminated because I didn't perform the minimal hours a month that was required (I think it was 10).

Anyway, I hope this helps! I have been looking for ways to work online for years and this is the only company that ever came through. The job is boring but it does pay, about $13 an hour and you work on your own time.

I'm curious if anyone else knows of any other opportunities.

Good luck!

I am a consulant for Isagenix. It is a nutritional cleanse company. I do okay. I know others who do much better than okay.

If the company asks you to send money* or buy anything* or rent anything* or accept charges*, then stop right there even if you got a little ways into it and even if you signed some papers. It's a scam.

* Membership fees, registration fees, postage, kits, newspaper ads, software, phone lines, long distance calls, materials & supplies, hotel rooms, bank accounts, envelopes, gasoline, airplane tickets, to name a few. However having to go to a downtown office for an interview does not automatically make it a scam.

I started my own business with Market America and it is going great. It's an product brokerage and internet marketing company. I have my own website that friends shop thru and beginning Nov 1st they start getting 2% cash back on online shoppping. My friends are excited about the cash back and love the fact that they can call me with any questions. I love it because I work for myself from home 10-12 hours a week. Good luck with whatever you decide!!

Reminding everyone once again (because this type of thread always necessitates this warning), the DIS does not permit referrals. Please do not post referral links or offer to hook another member up with the program that you work for. That also means no posts saying "PM me for a link or information". That's just going around the rules.

Honestly, thomascaldwell1, I think your best bet is not to work for pennies for someone else. Even the "legit" work-at-home companies, ie the ones that actually pay you something at some point, pay so little its not usually worth your time. No doubt you have some skills that you can parlay into a successful work at home business: home daycare, the home laundry service I heard about here (especially if you live near a college), and I even know someone who started a proofreading service web company. She charged a certain amount per page and edited papers for students and even small businesses. I'm amazed how many people either supplement an income or make a living on blogging alone, so if you can keep at it every day, have a topic, and a unique voice, try that on for size. Remember to throw an image in everyday, that seems pretty essential to a successful (ie money making) blog.

I know people who have a home baking business, people who have started a business creating a product that simply didn't exist before, people who do favors and paper products at home, and much more. It's always slow getting started, but they made it because they were stubborn.

I appreciate all of the information and suggestions from everyone- Thank You!

As far as starting my own business or working something sales-related (like home parties or avon or what-not), it's not in the cards. I have 6 weeks and 6 days before I deliver, then where I'm really in the financial crunch is the 6-8 weeks I'm 'under a doctor's care (until I can get released to go back to work- even light duty). Mind you, I don't have a job to go back to, but I could start work for someone at that time. None-the-less, I am not looking to start my own business at this time, or in this economy, or with absolutely no money to spare for start-up costs. Just looking for something to do from home to bring in SOMETHING, whether it's $50 or $500- I'll take it. I'm going to E-Bay and craigslist a few things (some of the larger things I'm not going to ship- i.e. push mower) and that should help bring in a little money, too... I'm crossing my fingers that all will work out since I know the Good Lord won't give me more problems than I can resolve. He will help me figure this out, and I know that. Just waiting for him to open a door for me... Thanks again everyone!

www.workplacelikehome.com is a good one as someone suggested. www.wahm.com is another good one but they do have more home business threads on there. They have I think 1 telecommuting thread on there. Both of these are great resources to findd something from home. I should know.....1 have 3 work at home gigs and a part time home business!

I am interested in Blogging:
I have a voice and story, I would love to start sharing a product that has had several recalls, but not removed f rom the market after causing many deaths. The product does not say will cause death, it has a smiley face with droopy eyes and says, may cause drowsiness.

It depressed the nervous system that my daughter passed away. FDA is accumlating cases using this medication that had adverse reaction in its present means of use. Other companies produce a different design as to avoid accidental leaks and overdose/fatalities.

I already alerted the attorneys for the drug company my intent during depositions. Not a thing they can do as it is all documented and true.
If I can make a few dollar from the blogging it may help me advertise to alert other families and have voices that FDA needs.

Blogging is new to me....is there blogging 101? Blogging for Dummies?

I do KGB, I answer texts on my computer that people email/text in. It's great, I made $20 yesterday!! I average about $2.50 an hour because I stink at it. :lmao: But still, I am home anyway, might as well make some money!!! My goal is to do $2 a day (I was just bored yesterday so I kept going, plus I am trying to win a contest) to make $60 a month. I can do my $2 a day in about an hour, sometimes two if I am being picky about what questions I take. :lmao: www.kgb.com for info. Good luck!

The only downside is the 2 tests can take up to 7 hours. If you pass both tests they will pay you about $150.

7 hours? Do you need to go through the test straight through without stopping? Or can you stop and pick it up again later?

I did a little googling about this company, and many people gave it good reviews. You're the only person I've seen mention getting paid for passing the test. Did I read that right? Also, most people report that the wage is confidential, so I wonder if it can vary?

Elderly people you may know, or friends of friends can always use help. Maybe, if you're going to the store, you can pick stuff up for them, or give them a ride. Sometimes, it's the really easy stuff for us to do around the house that they can no longer do. Laundry, folding clothes, cook meals, etc. they may need help with. Lots of times their children would love for a nearby neighbor or friend to help them with their elderly parents day to day stuff, when they can't.

Also, although it's not a "job" maybe you could have a garage sale. Get rid of some stuff, make room for the new baby, and make a few bucks while you wait out the last six weeks. :thumbsup2

This is a reply to the person asking about Leapforce and the test you need to take. For the record, I posted above "PM me if you need a link" only because I wasn't aware you could post links here. I do not get a referral for this company, they do not work that way. I am only posting because this is honestly the only sincere "work at home" opportunity that I has ever worked and paid me.

Anyway, they give you a test and a week to finish it. It's not really that hard if you read the material but the second part is like 400 questions. Even if you are quick at the questions (they are just simulations of link checking that you will do for the company) time adds up because there are so many questions. It took me about 3.5 hours and it was boring but I passed.

It's worth the time invested if you want a solid work at home job. They are pretty selective of who the choose though. They prefer college graduates but if you haven't been to college I would just lie on the app because they don't check.

]I have worked at home since my youngest was born seven years ago for several work at home call centers. I work around their schedule most early morning (yes I just got up because they 1/2 day today and need the extra money since hubby is now unemployed) and while they are at school. I take call for informericals and do some customer service-the main company I work for is LiveOps but there several work at home call center I do make about 2-3k a month.

What's the name of the company you work for? The link goes to a blog spot w/advertising links for "leads" for work at home call center jobs. If you're making 2-3K/month doing this, I would LOVE to know about it. I could use the extra cash!
