Legal Question-Are Members "responsible" for Renters?

The concept of "Due Process" is actually only applicable to when the government does something. Relationships between individuals and entities are governed by other laws, and basically those laws hold that anything we agreed to as members, including the responsibility for the charges assessed to our guests, and forfeiture of our ownership interest in the absence of our making good on those charges, is valid and enforceable. If we feel we've not be treated well, in that regard, our remedy is to sue. We cannot get injunctive relief (i.e., due process through the courts before the sanction is applied -- as a matter of fact, we cannot make use of the courts in this matter until a sanction is applied).

DVC couldn't just cancel the membership but they could refuse to make reservations, not allow use of scheduled reservations, charge fees and interest and foreclose.

Having to sue the renter to recover what I was charged by DVC is a pretty strong deterrant for me; I won't be renting my points again anytime soon.

Agree here Bick.

Transferring points works a lot better for me.
