Has anyone got one? We will be at WDW next week and thinking of getting one for my FIL as a birthday present. He was recently diagnosed with Parksinson's disease and we thought it would be a nice gift.
I know there is a choice between a photo on the tile or inscription - what do you suggest? It is only a 1 " x 1" tile so there is not a lot of room.
I am not referring to the one at MK which is no longer available.
Also, does anyone know where I can get photos of this?
Thanks so much!

Hiya,

DFi and I had this done 5 yrs ago. We have been back to Florida twice since, going again in a few weeks and its great to go and see :) At that time we had only been together 7 mths (and I was working in Epcot and he was still in the UK) and now we've been together over 5 yrs and are getting married. Its nice to think that the tile is still around just like we are :goodvibes

I think its a wonderful gift idea and the photos are really quick and easy to have done. Back in 2000 they were pretty quick at getting them up on the tile.... not sure about now.

Back then also you got a link to a website where it would be displayed but I think they have stopped that now. You do get some nice keepsake certificates tho!

There is a DIS member (wrevy? possibly...) who has their legacy tile picture as their avatar - it looks great!

Basically a very positive experience and I think you should go for it :)

Best Wishes,
Gaspodé

They are $25 for the 1st one and each additional one is $20. There are no taxes.
I think the price went down since they used to be around $30-$38. I am thinking of getting one for my 2 little guys too....

Torontogal:

A Legacy tile was included with our package earlier this year. We went with a photo of our kids (DS 5 and DD 8). I think it will be a great thing for them to go back with their families one day and show them a permanent memorial of their first visit to WDW. I would have done this even if we had to pay.

I think this would be a great tribute for your FIL.

we did this last year when we got married out there! last year with the AP it was buy one get one free (not sure if it is the same this yr) and we got one picture and one inscription, i can't say which i really like better, as they are both my fave!! we have yet to go see them yet and are soo excited for October! i love the little certificates that they mail you, it comes so long after your vacay, you almost totally forgot about them! it's another cute souvenir!! we are going to get a picture od DD this yr done!!

I got one in 1999. I love to visit my tile (it's way up high on the obelisk, which is good for me since I'm tall!)

When I got my package in teh mail, it included a print of the tile on clear acetate, which I sanned and added to the background I created for it, resulting in my nice little pic below:

Willcad -
this is really nice. I love what you did with the photo. I have to remember to do something similiar when I get my scan.

I had a legacy picture done of me years ago .It was wishes feature to the gold or silver plan i had then.

We got one done when we were there in May. We got our package in the mail a few weeks later and it was really nice. We received 2 copies - it was only $25.
It was for our honeymoon - it was very easy and the CM were very nice. I would get one - it was definitely worth it.

Did you do your own wording on the tile ? Or do they have quotes to choose from ?

If I have to pick my own - I'd better start looking now :)

you can do your own wording, don't know how much you get but its not that much space! we did:

My family got ours in 1999 it's a nice thing to go and see every time we go. I like the idea of seeing a picture of yourself in a place like disney world engraved in a stone :teeth: I think its cool because it's goign to be there forever now.

DH and I did ours a few years ago, it was part of our package. Every year we go back DH takes a picture of me looking at our picture. It makes me feel good knowing there is a part of me always at the world. I think it is a lovely thought for you to give this to your FIL. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

My ds (8) is a real Disney lover! :maleficen And after multiple trips seeing them, he really wanted to do one! So, last March we went to let him do one and found they were offering a buy one get one free for AP holders. :rotfl: So, my ds did his on one and my dh and I did one together on the other! The pictures turned out great! :maleficen They sent us a copy in the mail with directions for finding them just a few weeks later! :cool1: We will be seeing them for the first time in Oct. :maleficen We can't wait! My ds is so proud!

We have two. One with DH and DD when she was 5. And another one with me and DD when she was 9. We mainly did it so that our DD could go back over the years and have a reminder of how special our family time there was, and how special she is to both of us. :love1:

We did this right when they first started. THey didn't even have the sight completed yet. Dh and I have our picture on it. We weren't married yet, but knew it would happen. We love to see if we can remeber where it is.
Great idea!

Myself & My Nephew had our pics taken in '99 and visit our 'mugs' on each visit...it's very cool thing to do!

We had it done in March 2004. We have not checked out our picture yet, since I keep forgetting about writing down the location until we are actually at Epcot. I am embarrassed to say that we have been there three times since, and the last two times, I had a copy of the acetate in my folder in the room, and still forgot to look up the location until I was actually at Epcot.
