Anyone know anything about this? Here's the thing, my right leg is numb to the touch, not so numb that I can't walk just numb to the touch and it feels a bit strange.

For my job (well just this past Sunday) I sat in a chair for around 4 hours straight without really moving. So I just figured maybe a squeezed a nerve at this time. Well here is is Thursday and it still feels weird. Numb and tingly.

Any advice?

TIA,

Charity

You could have a disc problem. Does your back hurt at all? Is there any pain in your leg? Where exactly is the numbness?

My back feels fine. The tingling is mostly in the calf the numbness is my thigh and calf.

But there's no pain, anywhere? Hmm. I've not experienced anything like that. I have two herniated discs and my leg is numb from them (well, one of them), but it starts around my knee.

I'm beginning to wonder if it could have to do with my Hypothyroidism...a bit more research maybe...my thyroid is out of wack. I really need to go get some new bloodwork done but we can't afford it...

I have hypothyroidism, too, but have not experienced that. Of course everyone's different.

Have them check your B12 and iron. Low B12 stores can cause nerve damage that leads to tingling.... You haven't had a flu shot recently have you? Thats when my tingling started... just sayin...

I had a similar problem when I was pg with DD9, for the last 4 months I couldn't feel the thigh area of my right leg, she was pinching a nerve. I had no problems walking but I couldn't feel that part of my leg, it was really weird......

You could have something similar to what I had. My big toe was numb for a while, and I actually went to a podiatrist cause it was getting a bit worrisme. He told me it's neuropraxia, basically, a minor, completely reversible nerve injury. He said mine could have been from trauma, or wearing a bad shoe, or sitting on it. He told me about a patient of his who fell asleep in his chair with his foot over the opposite knee. When he woke up, that leg was numb from the knee down. Turns out he compressed his nerve. It takes a while for it to heal, but it eventually does.

Course, it could also not be that, so who knows.

This is what mny Dad suggested it was too Moneky. I think I'll just let it go for awhile, if it persists for another week or two then i may see a doctor. Thank you all!

When I was pregnant with DD, I was walking through a grocery store and felt a such a sharp pain in my upper left thigh that I thought someone had stabbed me. I actually fell to the floor and screamed.

I went to my doctor immediately and he said that the baby was pushing on my sciatic nerve and not to worry about it.

However, to this day, that place on my leg is slightly numb. Not so numb that I could stick a needle in it and not feel it, but it does feel very weird. And some days are worse than other.

So, it could be something to do with the nerves in your spine... but it's worthy of asking a doctor about!

My podiatrist said it can take 4-8 weeks for it to heal. Mine happened about 6 weeks ago, and it's still somewhat numb, although not like before. But the good part is that it doesn't hurt, so it's not like it hinders you at all. Just try to avoid sitting in that same chair, it's possible the edge of your chair compressed the nerve. If you keep applying pressure to that same site, it'll take longer to heal.
