Hi all!

I'm starting this very late in the game...I'm getting married next week! I've been in a state of shock and panic for a few weeks now and posting this would help me realize how much is actually done and how little I still need to worry about.

Firstly, about us:

I'm a stay-at-home fiance (although I think planning this wedding is a full time job in itself). I consider myself to be slightly creative and have tried to do as much as I could to help the budget stay within reason.

DF works in computer stuff for the financial district in NYC (wall street, though I don't understand when he starts trying to explain exactly what he does, too many acronyms).

We live in NJ, approximately 1 1/2 miles from NYC and have a beautiful doggy baby who unfortunately cannot attend the wedding :sad1:

The Ceremony:

We've chosen a beautiful Armenian Church to hold the ceremony in to celebrate DF's heritage. The ceremony will be a traditional Armenian Ceremony that most who haven't seen one before would consider close to the Greek Orthodox.

The Reception:

Marriott Hotel that is actually very near where we live. For the Cocktail hour, we will be on a balcony overlooking the hotel's 3 story lobby with a top shelf open bar with stations and passed hors d'oeuvres For the Dinner Reception and dancing, the hotel has a really nice ballroom that is surrounded on two sides by floor to ceiling windows that are decorated in rich golds.

Honeymoon #1

1 week after the wedding, we'll be headed to Puerto Rico for a few days to wait for our Royal Caribbean cruise to Southern Caribbean Islands including St. Lucia, Barbados and St. Martin. DF wanted it to be extra special, so he reserved us a grand suite...can't wait to get there! (We decided to take Royal Caribbean this trip as we've been on all the DCL offerings and wanted to try something different w/o having to go to Europe, with all the troubles around that area, we thought it best to stick closer to home.)

Honeymoon #2
December 4 - 12 we'll be staying at AKL SV with DxDP! I can't wait for this trip...I've not been to Disney since 2008 and I have been going through withdrawl. DF has never gone before so I'm very excited to show him the World!

I have loads of pictures to post of all that I have made/gathered for the wedding and will post them as soon as I figure out how to do that...until then...thanks for reading!

Our running theme is peacock feathers...not that I have always been in love with them (actually allergic to them...and flowers) but I think that as an accent to our colors of Navy, Ivory and hints of Gold, they have a regal feel to them while still being fun/unexpected.

Our Invitation:
I ordered printed invitations with the navy band and added the feather and crystal accent.

The Flower Girl Basket:
I completely overhauled this thing. I bought a inexpensive reed basked at Easter and covered it completely with an ivory satin that I ironed into small pleats. I affixed the peacock tail feathers and made a small "flower" from the breast feathers and finished with crystals. The back has a smaller detailing of feathers and crystals as well.

The Centerpieces:
I am allergic to flowers and I find that roses are especially difficult for me to be surrounded by, so I chose, with the help of our designer, a variety of other blooms for our centerpieces and attendant flowers...peonies, jaguar orchids, hydrangea, spider lilies, anenomies and irish bells.

More to come...

Each attendant will have a different bouquet to match her personality with a common flower of hydrangea.

My Tiara:
My dress has gold thread in the beading and embroidery so I had a difficult time finding a headpiece that would go with it. Lucky for me, I found a company in MA that offers a very large selection of Swarovski pieces that are plated in 14k for a really great price. Sorry the picture is not so good.

Hair:
Decided on two hairstyles, one to wear with the tiara and veil, the other to wear with a beautiful pin I found and would get the hair away from my face for dancing and eating. This is reception hair :)

My Dress:
After searching long and hard, I fell in love with this Demetrios gown because of the pleating at the bottom and all the detailing in the beading.

Wow! It is almost 2AM...I'll put up some more stuff tomorrow.

Okay, I can't sleep.

The "Disney Touch" of our wedding. The music...since DF is not a huge fan of all things Mouse (yet), I've tried very hard to infuse a little Magic here and there without overwhelming him. Believe it or not...the ideas behind this entire wedding are his, I'm just the person who is making it all happen. My idea was to get married on Castaway Cay. Standing on the beach, sand between the toes, a light airy dress and a casual tan linen outfit for him...okay, daydream over.

I've chosen for our bridal party to be introduced to the theme music from Kingdom Hearts 2, I figure with his love of all things video games and my love of Disney, two birds :cool1:

We're learning to dance...been in instruction for a bit now and we'll be dancing away to A Whole New World, movie version.

I am still working on getting a hidden mickey here and there into the reception, and maybe with some suggestions...I can get it done.

Oh, and because my puppy can't come to the wedding, our floral designer is creating this for us!

It will be sitting atop a little blue pillow by the aisle and will be brought to the reception afterwards...hehe

Congratulations on you upcoming wedding! Next week is so soon!

I love the peacock feather theme, they are very elegant looking, and the colours you chose to go with it compliment them perfectly!

I also love your hair, the curls are beautiful and the clip really holds it nicely.

And 2 honeymoons? You lucky lady! Make sure you take loads of pictures for us!
