Hi all!
I'm starting this very late in the game...I'm getting married next week! I've been in a state of shock and panic for a few weeks now and posting this would help me realize how much is actually done and how little I still need to worry about.
Firstly, about us:
I'm a stay-at-home fiance (although I think planning this wedding is a full time job in itself). I consider myself to be slightly creative and have tried to do as much as I could to help the budget stay within reason.
DF works in computer stuff for the financial district in NYC (wall street, though I don't understand when he starts trying to explain exactly what he does, too many acronyms).
We live in NJ, approximately 1 1/2 miles from NYC and have a beautiful doggy baby who unfortunately cannot attend the wedding
The Ceremony:
We've chosen a beautiful Armenian Church to hold the ceremony in to celebrate DF's heritage. The ceremony will be a traditional Armenian Ceremony that most who haven't seen one before would consider close to the Greek Orthodox.
The Reception:
Marriott Hotel that is actually very near where we live. For the Cocktail hour, we will be on a balcony overlooking the hotel's 3 story lobby with a top shelf open bar with stations and passed hors d'oeuvres For the Dinner Reception and dancing, the hotel has a really nice ballroom that is surrounded on two sides by floor to ceiling windows that are decorated in rich golds.
Honeymoon #1
1 week after the wedding, we'll be headed to Puerto Rico for a few days to wait for our Royal Caribbean cruise to Southern Caribbean Islands including St. Lucia, Barbados and St. Martin. DF wanted it to be extra special, so he reserved us a grand suite...can't wait to get there! (We decided to take Royal Caribbean this trip as we've been on all the DCL offerings and wanted to try something different w/o having to go to Europe, with all the troubles around that area, we thought it best to stick closer to home.)
Honeymoon #2
December 4 - 12 we'll be staying at AKL SV with DxDP! I can't wait for this trip...I've not been to Disney since 2008 and I have been going through withdrawl. DF has never gone before so I'm very excited to show him the World!
I have loads of pictures to post of all that I have made/gathered for the wedding and will post them as soon as I figure out how to do that...until then...thanks for reading!
