LeCellier or Yachtsman?

I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the thread. Which do you prefer? LeCellier or Yachtsman?? And why?

I prefer Le Cellier for a nice lunch and a break from the park crowds. I love Yachtsman for a great adult dinner. Prices at Yachtsman are higher but it's removed from the parks and more upscale. Haven't been disappointed with the food at either place.

That might not help with your decision but it's an opinion for what it's worth.

We prefer Le Cellier by far. They both have good food, but Yachtsmans food seems a bit more ordinary and Le Cellier has a few more special type foods. And we are pretty much meat and potatoes folks who don't go for fancy foods, but it just seems more special at Le Cellier. The steaks we've had at both places have been good, just better at LC. Plus I LOVE the cheese soup and pretzels, DH LOVES the Caesar salad and DD LOVES the chocolate moose at LC.

Le Cellier is much better than Yachtsman. Steaks at yachtsman are low quality full of gristle. Service is poor. Le Cellier is a bit better, better service also.

I totally disagree with the above poster about the Yachtsman. I have gone to the Yachtsman on each of my trips, about 3 per year, and have never had a bad steak or bad experience. I have found the staff to be very good and very professional, a lot of the staff have been working there for many years. I have heard people complain about the steaks, but no one in my parties have ever had one. They have all be cooked to taste.

LeCellier is very good. The food is good and so are the steaks. It is in the park, and thus a little more casual (Yachtsman has started a business casual dress code). The staff at LeCellier is bright, friendly, but not neccessiarily a professional level. Most of the staff are college kids working at Epcot for a year. I have always enjoyed talking to them and learning about their part of Canada. LeCellier is a little more crowded than Yachtsman and there have been some recent complaints about the service (although I have never had any).

LeCellier is on the dining plan and a 1 credit table service meal (I believe), Yachtsman is a 2 credit meal. LeCellier has benefited from the plan and is now one of the toughest ADR's at Epcot to book.

I can highly recommend the Yachtsman and recommend LeCellier. I've been to the Yachtsman many more times than I have been to LeCellier.

One other point, LeCellier requires a park admission, Yachtsman does not.

This is a tough question. We solve this by eating at both on every trip. We are big steak eaters. If that is not an option then I think it depends on what you perfer.

My husband would choose LeCellier I would choose the Yachtsman. We have never had a bad experiance at either place so for us it is just a differance in atmosphare.

We prefer LeCellier over Yachtsman Steakhouse! Love the fillet, cream cheese potatoes and veal demi glaze! Don't forget the candian club cake for desert! ;) Last time we dined at YSH our med well steaks were only so, so compared to LeCelier.

If it is steak you want...hands down Yachtsman is the way to go. Much much better pieces of meat. Staff more professional, better ambience.

Believe it or not, I love the chicken in Le Cellier. the best I ever have.

if you want informal, go to LeCellier if not go to Yachtsman. Their martinis are great too!

For us, it is not even close. YSH hands down.

I vote for Le Cellier. Booked ADR at both for our Sept. trip since we were on the dining plan. First time dining at each one, so I can only compare our one visit vs. others who have been more often. Our group of 5 adults voted hands down for Le Cellier.

My vote goes to Yachtsman Steakhouse with out hesitation ..

YSH - calm, quiet, excellent service, superior quality steaks, bread with roasted garlic to spread, wonderful sides and desserts.

Le C - crowded, loud, tables too close together, service good, but not YSH quality, excellent cheeder cheese soup and bread sticks, good cuts of meat, but not up to YSH.

We ate at YSH for the first time in 1992 and have been there every single trip since then.. would not even think of missing it. We have never had a bad steak or bad service... always a great experience.

We do go to Le C for lunch every other trip or so. They make a very good steakburger and I do love the soup. We go around 2 so hopefully it is not to crowded.

I have not been to Le Cellier yet, but we will go there next trip. We ate at YSH last month. The food was good, but it wasn't spectacular. For two credits per person it should have been spectacular. DS had a grilled chicken breast that was so tough I couldn't cut it with my steak knife. Our server was very nice and took the chicken off of the bill, but we really felt like the meal wasn't worth 2 credits per person.

The reason we chose YSH was because we were doing an IllumiNations cruise that evening and the restaurant is right across from the marina. If we wouldn't have been going on the cruise we would have stayed in Epcot and had dinner somewhere in WS. DH hates to run around from the parks to ADRs at resorts and back again. If you are going to be in Epcot anyway it would be easier to go to Le Cellier.

Have a great trip! :)
